Much of northern Spain belongs to Castile-Leon, an autonomous region surrounded by mountains. Architectural gems like the Romanesque stonework of Segovia's city walls, the Gothic Burgos Cathedral and the dramatic Baroque square in Salamanca are complemented by the area's natural beauty. Parque Natural de las Hoces del Rio Duraton is marked with deep gorges and shelters many birds of prey, while Parque Natural del Lago de Sanabria y alrededores contains the largest glacier lagoon on the Iberian Peninsula.

The rooms are excellent we had a balcony however the view is somewhat disappointing as it over looks what looked like a quarry works or something similar. It was no problem to the hotel as its in the distance but does kind spoil the view. bathroom was excellent as was the room very clean and kept to a high standard. It has its own restaurant and the food was very good and outstanding value. We had been given garaged parking for our bike and one of the staff was a biker himself and was very helpful and interesting to talk to. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the only let down we found was the breakfast which was pre packed muffins and other stuff and was an additional cost we passed it by. I would stay again and it very biker friendly!

Stayed for 3 nights visiting our daughter in Leon. This hotel is just off the Main Street and has comfortable beds and is very quiet. Wooden floors and ceiling beams with unique bathroom style makes this a very charming hotel. Bedrooms cleaned everyday. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The property is excellent and there was a garage for our motorcycles. Breakfast was the most basic we had during our trip. We booked direct with the owners and we were told there would be somewhere to eat locally (their restaurant is closed on a Monday). Whether it was a breakdown in communication on our previous correspondence I don't know, but we were unable to get anything to eat locally and our bikes had been locked away in the garage so we couldn't drive to the next town. Also we had been drinking! Luckily, in our desperate search for food we came across the Bar Jose, which supplied tapas and beers all evening.

We are a familiar business, whose challenge is to achieve that our customers have a rest and relax. We are located in a mountain village that has almost no services, so our place gives you the possibility of finding yourself, relax and forget about the annoying daily noise. You can disconnect for a short time from your stressed life. Foncebadón is being recovered as ending and start of one of the stages in the Way more and more. Our village lays at the top of the Monte Irago, emblematic place for the celts and where the "Cruz de Fierro" stands, a very special place for those who peregrinate to Santiago. Our story begins in 2013, when we inaggurated our little minimarket and, later on, with so much an effort, hard work and dedication, we created our place. A place that still has to grow and improve. For that reason and much more, we stand up every day wanting to fight for improvement, so that you can leave our shop with good memories of us. I our establishment you can find almost everything: we have 4 complete rooms, of which "La Xana" and "El Trasgu" are the double ones, "El Sumiciu" is a single room, and "El Cuélebre" is the one that is equipped for families or groups. All of them are decorated with a special dedication to the latest detail, so that you find yourself like home, good beds to make sleeping a good rest, TV, bathroom and wifi. We have also a restaurant where you can have a good breakfast, lunch or dinner with traditional cooking, using good quality and local products. In our minimarket, you can stock up of what you need any moment in day, or in your stage with us. We fight every day to be different.
The walk up to Foncebadon from the plains is substantial and tiring. It would have been less so had I known the super nice refuge waiting for me at the top. El Trasgu is right on the Camino and complete and very fit for purpose. A bar, restaurant, store with almost anything you could want and good hotel rooms. The building is stone and very much in keeping with the rest of the village. The dining room has walls of glass looking out to the mountains. There are terraces front and back but it was too cool to sit outside on the day that I stayed. No matter because the sun came blazing in through the glass into the dining room where it was bright and warm. The proprietor spoke excellent English which was very helpful to me. My room was tiny with a comfortable double bed that almost reached the wall on either side. The bathroom was also tiny but adequate with lots of lovely hot water. The section with the rooms has a common area with a large table. I struggled a little with the wifi password but once connected it worked well in my room, the common area and the dining room. All rooms were well heated which was necessary with the temperature below freezing in the early morning. I had the menu (pilgrim's meal) in the evening and it was well cooked with a good choice of dishes. I loved the unusual decorative touches throughout the building including a wall of different toadstool pictures, framed keys and lots of old family photos. El Trasgu is a gem and no one should think of staying elsewhere in Foncebadon.

This is a really pleasant small hotel, with very nice rooms with oak beams. We had a great view of the river from our room. Excellent breakfast with fresh baked bread and home made jams - the very gracious and friendly hostess (who's name I forget unfortunately) was actually making jam in the kitchen when we arrived. In summary, a great hotel in a lovely village.

This inn, about one hour from Leon, was the perfect stop on our way through northern Spain towards Portugal. We really enjoyed the boutique, where we bought gifts, and then had a very nice dinner in one of the two restaurants.

The Imprenta Musical opened its doors in 2016, making reference to the history of the previous building with its name and decoration so that guests can enjoy a place full of musical memories. The establishment, newly built, is located in the center of Astorga, which makes it an exceptional place to explore the city.
... and I am not just saying that because we mostly stayed at albergues on the Camino. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious bathroom and shower space and very comfortable bed. the service was great. Definitely would stay again, warmly recommended.

Beautiful tranquil rural area, free parking and wifi. Our room looked out onto a small courtyard.Delicious evening meal of homemade produce. Loved the wild mushroom soup and game stew. Really good breakfast of toasted olive oil bread, homemade honeys, local jams, mixed fruit, cakes and biscuits with orange juice and coffee.
