A secluded accommodation on the foot of a hill and across the street from an internationally known surf spot in the Philippines - "Cobra Reef." Our Suites are cozy yet stylish and furnished with all the essentials to a great weekend escape. All our suites were put together with a keen eye for detail to appeal to your epicurean taste buds yet a feel not far away from home. It has its own toilet and bath with hot rain shower. All rooms have a private balcony with a view of the sea(for Premier) and the lush mountainside. It is strategically located near Baler’s famous tourists attractions. Not too far from the hustle and bustle of Sabang Beach (9 kms/ 15 minute drive), Kahanamoku boasts of a more private and tailor-fit Baler experience. We are walking distance from the Baler Fish Port and across the street from a world class surf spot that hides behind a magical walk through a mangrove sanctuary. A handful of white sandy beaches and breathtaking sites just a few minute drive from us.
Away from the bustle of Baler town and Sabang beach, Kahanamoku is quite, relaxing and has a lovely vibe. Rooms. are clean and staff are super helpful and friendly as are the owners and family, who made us very welcome. The best thing is the fantastic vegetarian breakfast options. Yummy vegetarian tapsilog, delicious nut and seed oatmeal, veggie omelette - what a great way to tart the day! Lots to do and see in and around Baler even if you are not a surfer. If you are a surfer then this bed and breakfast is close to some great surf spots too. Highly recommend a stay at Kahanamoku!

The place is relly nice but the staff is not friendly... specially the receptionist on Uniform. I say that on Uniform because actually the staff the on call is actually really nice the one working at the day time. No hospitality. I never seen a Filipino workers without the smile on their faces in any hotel that I stayed. they look at you like you like not a guest or a person ..During Breakfast they can't even bring water or tissue kailangan mo pang e request... walang initiative at common sense ang mga staffs.. they always in their cellphones.worst services tlaga...sana naman mabasa to ng boss niyo para naman tanggalin na kayo...di kayo karapat-dapat sa trabaho na yan kung ayaw niyo.... suggest lang bosing mag CCTV kayo at nang makita niyo ang mga staff niyo... and the balcony off our room it looks like it never been cleaned ,I never experienced in any hotel here in the Philippines that they can't bring service in the room, while thier staff is really do do any thing g but standing in that hour, My friends and I feeling not welcome in this place. Very disappointed place. And you have bad Supervisor

Owners Victoria and Marlon are the best examples of excellent customer service over and beyond. They patiently and immediately answered all text messages and phone calls to them. We were picked up and sent back to the bus terminal during our stay last week. Hotel is budget friendly considering its location which is just across the Sabang beach. All basic amenities are in the hotel as clean beddings, towels, bidet, shower (cold only, which we find more appealing!), air con, tv (although not remote control, we were able to get by!), wifi which easily connects! No breakfast included in the hotel package but sold outside in the sari store, also owned by Jam Jen's, and costs at P 70.00 per plate, we enjoyed the bangusilog and tocilog from its breakfast menu. Dennis, our assigned tricycle driver/tour guide/photographer was so accommodating to all our requests for side trips and waiting patiently to each and every tourist places we visited in Baler. Only if all tour guides around the country are as helpful, respectful and wonderful to work with as Dennis! You will never regret going back to Baler with Jam Jen's as your place to stay. We hope to come back again before the year ends!

The place is super awesome. Check in and check out can be flexible just have to coordinate with the owner well. The location isn't by the beach but's just a 5 minute walk which I feel is the best spot because it wont be crowded with the tourists but it's just a short walk to the waves. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. There's AC, hot and cold water, and even a bidget! It can't get any better than that. The amenities include a fun lounge place where you can play darts, watch some tv, or just chat with the lodge's owner and staff. Theres also a really comfortable hammock area where an afternoon nap would be the best thing. The best part is definitely the owner and the staff. They say Baler has the best people, and they weren't kidding. Look for kuya Rey and kuya Joven and they will do their best to make sure your stay is the best! Won't be looking for another place to stay when I visit; El Teodore will definitely my place to go.

Its our first time in Baler. We got 3 rooms at the 2nd floor with sea view but the window actually faces the terrace and not the sea. There were tables and chairs at the terrace. Its not like you can open your window and watch the waves. (Pls refer to the photos) There is no restaurant. No complimentary water. No towel. No amenities. No swimming pool. No TV. Cant recall if there is shampoo nut there is a tiny soap. Those are not issues for me as we brought everything with us. We were there just there to sleep as we spent the day outside the hotel. The big concern for me is the NOISE from other guests talking and drinking right outside our rooms. They talk and laugh aloud til 2AM!!! The aircon is functioning. Parking is also available for 3 cars. 4 people can fit in the room as there is a pull out bed. This hotel is stones throw away from Playa Azul which is way too much better but its still closed and will open on Feb 28. Staff at this hotel are okay. They just need to rennovate and reformat the design of the rooms and just remove the terrace to eliminate the "tambayan" area. (If they want to stay in business)

Place is relatively ok for resting... clean room and it's a beach front location. You just have to bring food and drinks... you have to go outside to a nearby karinderia if you don't... no available potable water that time... management said there was no delivery.... Sad part was... Videoke was not allowed during our stay... said we have to rent the whole place for us to get the privilege which is absurd.

We went here for our Company outing and booked 3 rooms but I stay in Pres. Aquino room. The room was spacious but the cr is too small, doesn't have toilet paper and the doorknob is broken, also the shower holder is broken and there's a lot of mosquito in the room. But strategically wise Machiavelli is located near in tourist spots if you don't mind walking a few minutes and the little room concern then its a great deal for you they also let us check in our designated rooms as early as 6:30am but it depends if there's no other guest before you checked-in.

Don't expect too much... its cheap for a reason.. BUT, my son, who is 4 years of age, is very hapot with their pool which is just beside the cooking, dining area.. so you can drink, cook and do whatever you want because you can see your kids while they are in the pool... They have a kitchen you can use.. bring whatever you want... The rooms have 3 double deck bunks, ac and fan, not too shabby even if you sleep sober..

I honestly wouldn't recommend this place until the owner makes some improvements or makes their price on the same level with other hotels that are so much nearer to Sabang Beach. Check out the many available accommodations in Baler first. Dew Drop is clean, and safety and security is no problem. The owner is a nice lady. I booked it for an overnight stay since I couldn't get any other lodging. It was a spur of the moment thing. It's a house with several rooms but you'd have to share the toilet with the occupants of the house. The Family Room is outside the house, has its own comfort room, and a stone's throw away from the beach, but it didn't look inviting enough for anyone to want to spend time there. There were many things that looked like hazards or trash beside the Family Room. If the owner could develop some more the family room, make the place neat and tidy it could be OK. But the family room I think is priced at 4thou, or 3thousand pesos, and one can get a much better room in a hote/inn for that price. I booked a room for 2 at 2,200 plus tax, no breakfast, and shared the comfort room with the owner's brother. Which was not a big issue since her brother is a nice man who picked us up from the bus terminal. But it's not a hotel, its not a convenient place to stay, no wifi - anyway, I didn't ask the owner anymore about the wifi since the moment we arrived we wanted to leave the place. Good thing we only stayed for a couple of hours. It's a Bed & Breakfast accommodation, but I've stayed in far superior, more enchanting and more relaxing B&B's before. This place is far from Sabang Beach. Using the comfort room upstairs where our room was located, you'd have to avoid hitting the washing machine and dryer that are placed by the side of the door of the comfort room. All in all, not a good place to stay.
