I always have great comments for Toyoko Inn and this branch in Okayama is one of the best. The service is top grade and everyone always welcomes me with a smile. I always use Okayama as a base to travel out and I will continue to choose this hotel for my next trip

The staff is really friendly and helpful. The diner is served at either 6, 6.30 or 7pm and we arrived at 8 but they managed to serve us normally. Speaking about the diner, it's HUGE. We had 11 dishes, incuding fish and meat. A bit too much for us, but at least you try so many traditional meals. The breakfast (either japanese or continental) is in the same way: consequent! Rooms are... traditional :) with a tatami and futons to sleep on. Bathrooms are shared but there is a bathroom sink and toilet in the room.

The facility, called rest house, was a guest house-style inn. It has various types of rooms, we stayed at small dadami room with shared rest room. The room was small but 2-3 persons could sleep well. It has separate/shared rest room and shower room, but they were clean and vacant in day times. However if you family members do not like share bathroom, you need to upgrade the room level. It has shared kitchen, and it was large and convenient to have something. But if your room would be near the kitchen, it could be quiet noisy in the evening time. The inn provide large parking lot for rental car drivers. It was good. The location was impressive. Kaike area had plenty of choices in onsen. You could stay in this inn but you can travel different onsens in every nights near the inn. You could ask to inn manager about that. The beach, restaurants, 24H CV shops are around there too.

It is a business hotel which is suitable for sightseeing for business for 2 minutes on foot from JR Yokogawa Station. Guest room is waiting from the heart for everyone's use with the specification tailored to the needs of the customer from capsule room, single room ~ 17 tatami Japanese style room.
I stayed here for 2 nights with my partner while visiting Hiroshima for the first time. I’m unsure why this hotel has such a high rating from booking.com I was surprised when we checked in as the hotel staff were not very friendly, the room was extremely dated, the bed was very small and uncomfortable, the pillows were paper thin and the walls were also so thin we could hear EVERYTHING happening on our floor and the rooms next to us. We were kept up both nights from listening to the rooms next to us partying and talking all night. I’m unsure if my floor was a “smoking” floor but the room smelt of cigarettes. Bath towels were thin. Only positives were the nice hot shower and decent WiFi. Would not recommend this hotel.

I had wondered what the hotel would be like after reading some of the comments, but found it provided everything we needed and while the room was certainly compact we didn't feel too squeezed in. The room was comfortable, the en suite bathroom fine, with a good shower, and the hotel location was very convenient and central. Staff were helpful and extremely polite. A free smartphone for guest use during the hotel stay came with the room and we found it very useful. I find it odd that an earlier reviewer complained about being disturbed by the management after having failed to leave by nearly half an hour after the checkout time - checkout time is clearly stated and anyone who doesn't like it can choose to go elsewhere! Most places have either a 10 am or 11 am checkout. All hotels have their own rules and you don't just decide to ignore them because you don't like them...

Perfect for the modest but conscious getaway weekend to an authentic Japanese spa-town. Calm and stylish in its own way. Loved the ecological food and the closeness to the Grand Hotel onsen nearby (included in the price).

The past reviews aren't indicative of my stay at this hotel for two nights. This is the only accomodation I was able to find on English web sites for Shimanani Kaido, so I booked two nights, and had to go back to the island the 2nd night. Since both meals are included in the price (8500 yen from Japanican), this place is a terrific value because the meals were very good. Each dish was ryokan quality, and dinner and breakfast was different each day, although I was disappointed since I was looking forward to the same breakfast again. Couple of cons: this place used to be a People's Lodge, thus the wooden frame beds which creak a lot. Hard to find as it's located at the southern end of Innoshima, past Habu Port, on top a mountain. Would be difficult to bike to, but they provide shuttle service from Habu Port. Staff also speak little English. However view from the rooms are magnificent. The entire outside wall is a window. Rooms have toilets, but for baths you use the onsen.

I was looking for a place to stay near Asa Shinkansen Station. The Hotel is easy to find and as expected near the train station. The staff is very friendly and reservation over phone was no problem. You really feel welcomed. I was glad that I choose to stay there. PRO (+) - Near Station and easy to find - Friendly Staff - Fast Internet (no WiFi but cable connection port in the room) - Room is VERY clean - Bathroom with Washlet (CLEAN!) - Fully equipped (TV, safe, waterboiler, hairdryer and more...) - Aircon - Toothbrush etc. - Since there is no convinient store the hotel offers some snacks and drinks for fair prices CONS (-) - Looking a bit unmodern
