Kizuna Lodge has everything our guests need to be comfortable and our location allows for easy access to everything that both Wadano and Happo Village have to offer as well. The lodge has a wood fireplace and sun room for guests looking to warm up after a long day on the mountain. There is also a large commercial kitchen, which is perfect whether you're cooking for your family.
Cosy, simple accommodation in a typical lodge. Justin and Kaoli are very nice, friendly and super helpful hosts. Location is a bit remote from Happo-one main gondola and from the local shop, but the lodge provides free transport any time in the morning and there is a public shuttle route nearby in the afternoon. Shared kitchen and a nice dining room with a fireplace available for guests. Good set breakfasts provided and there are several restaurants in a walkable distance available for a dinner. All in all very good.

Absolutely loved our stay at Wind Inn, it was tidy and quiet and provided everything we needed after a fun day on the slopes. Hayato and family provided a warm and friendly experience and excellent value for money. Although as mentioned in previous reviews there is no Onsen on site, it was an absolute privilege to be able to use the Onsen facilities up at Stelle Belle and the short walk up the road was not a problem. The on site restaurant was absolutely delicious, probably the best sushi I’ve had and I am usually not a big fan of nigiri but the tuna and salmon was so fresh. Hayato also served us some special Okinawan Sake which was a real treat and Wind Inn guests get a 20% discount so dinner was a bargain. There is a small supply of free bread, muesli, tea and coffee for a quick and easy breakfast, but best to stock up on some supplies at the local convenience store if you want a solid breakfast for a day on the slopes. I would highly recommend staying at Wind Inn if you want value for money and a friendly atmosphere.

The traditional ski lodge hosted by Japanese. Close distance to Happo One snow park. Huge garden in front of the lodge.
This property is special due to the hosts - Koji and Chakiko (assisted by Harry) who are the best. They cook a great breakfast and are extremely accommodating in helping plan your time in Hakuba and getting you to and from the slopes / restaurants / onsens etc... They do a great job of making guests feel welcome. In line with most non-hotel accomodation in the area, the facilities are more on the basic side including a shared bathroom set up but we barely noticed and they have two great private bath / onsens to use post ski which are awesome. It’s not luxury but it’s awesome (and this reflected in it being more affordable than its hotel counterparts) and for us having hosts who help you get around and get the best out of your time there made for a far better time than having an en-suite. We highly highly recommend.

For my first time in Japan and first time snowboarding, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! So much serenity. With a location right in front of Tsugaike’ slopes and super easy access to the chair lift, a lively crew that genuinely cares and has fun while doing it, pretty amazing food (the duck pancakes were to die for..) and the comfiest bed, I can’t recommend the Phat Packers enough! Seriously, it’s the vibe of it! Pretty impressive for a first season Packies! See you soon!

This is what a hostel is about, friendly and like minded people! This is by far my favourite hostel I have stayed in! Location is brilliant, you can basically board straight to the front door! Loved it all! Shout out to Rachel for her service with a smile Endless bar all the way! send it!
