Nicknamed "Little Kyoto," Kanazawa's rich history and culture ranges from geisha districts to a 16th-century castle. Locals here enjoy the good life away from big-city buzz, whether they’re picking up fresh seafood at Omicho Market or strolling Kenroku-en Garden’s manicured paths.

5 minute walk from Kanazawa Station, this is a communication guesthouse with a concept of being at peace (nagonde). Kanazawa guesthouse "Nagonde" is perfectly located only 5 minutes walking distance form Kanazawa Station (Kenrokuen Exit) and perfect as a base when sightseeing around Kanazawa visiting places like Kenrokuen, Higashi Chaya Town and Ohmicho Market. Also, it is located in the historical "Ekimae Betsuin Street" and right in front is a shopping area full of charm. Since long ago the people in this town would chat standing along these streets and you would hear children laughing. This is where you can experience such everyday life of Kanazawa. Our guesthouse cherishes the family atmosphere blessed with magnificent environment. A guesthouse where you can feel the warmth of wood renovating a private home built 50 years ago and an old man and woman from Kanazawa, who are the staff, will greet you like a family. Why not stay at "Nagonde", a communication guesthouse, place of healing and encounter. We eagerly await your arrival.
The hostel is located just between the station and the market. We took the family room that was super clean and fun to stay in. The staff was super helpful, we did our laundry in the hostel and any question we had we got answers and recommendations. Just important to know that the stairs to the room are narrow and bit hard to climb with heavy suitcase, but the staff is willing to help. Overall great place to stay in!

We stayed in this guesthouse for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very friendly host and staff, who explained the sights and restaurants in the city, and went out of their way to help us book buses, visits, etc. The house is close to the east tea houses area. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Kanazawa.

Blue Hour Kanazawa is a simple hostel for travelers. We offer a mixed dormitory for 29 pax and female dormitory for 14 pax. Free wifi is available at all rooms. All showers and bathrooms are shared.
Blue Hour is a nice, comfortable modern hostel about a 5 minute walk from the train station. Honestly it had some of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on in Japan and my larger trip. The beds are pods too with a privacy curtain, light and mirror inside. The privacy you get is so nice. The female dorm also has a small seating area just for its guests and a small fridge for breakfast. The female dorm is also key code locked and has its own bathroom. The small grocery store in the building is a great feature too. I was here in summer and have a few items to be aware of: - There is Air Con in the dorms but it doesn’t get in to the bed pods so those can be toasty - The air con in the female area also isn’t very strong but it’s not too bad - Great WiFi speed - No laundry but laundromat nearby - This is on the third floor and there is NO lift. So the walk up with luggage is hot My only issues were that staff didn’t speak much English and gave misinformation about how to get around the city. Just go to the train station and get help there. I also had an issue with my bed but staff took care of it the next day at my request. One last thing, the dorm area can be loud, especially with suitcases knocking around and people coming in/out of the locked door. Overall, I would stay again and recommend it for a short stay.

Thank you so much to K's House Kanazawa, we had an incredible stay here and would recommend to everybody. The facilities are clean and luxury in comparison to lots of other hostels we've stayed in. The kitchen is fully equipped and really ideal to make your own meals if you're sick of eating out. We stayed in a double cabin (2 of us) which was a first time experience and we loved it. We had the whole dorm to ourselves on one of the evenings which added to our experience of the place but even on the nights we were sharing, the guests were respectful of peace and quiet and the cabin curtain pulls perfectly across to shut out any light.

Very friendly atmosphere. Good breakfast and thoughtful host. We were three in a room. Small but cozy room and comfortable Japanese futons. Free bike was a highlight of our stay, as Kanazawa is a perfect place to explore on two wheels! Would definitely stay here again.

Great little guest house, with very clean, spacious rooms with own shower. The host gave us lots of information about where and what to do in Kanazawa. Highly recommended, they also sell a very nice craft beer.
