montan HAKATA is a hostel opened in October 2017. We are located in 8 min away from JR Hakata station, 5 min away from Higashihie station and 15 min away from Fukuoka airport. We have dormitory rooms, double rooms, twin rooms, triple rooms, family rooms, quad rooms and japanese style rooms.
Montan Hakata seems to be a life saver for many people. We missed our train as our flight was delayed and needed a cheap place to stay for the night within walking distance from the station. My friends, wife, and myself booked Montan Hakata and it was a very pleasant stay. The booking was simple, the staff was great! They have bikes to rent, breakfast, and international beer, among other fun things. We had the traditional tatami room for four people and we all slept comfortably in one room. The room was clean and spacious as was the bathroom. For being a hostel, this place was very clean and modern, I was impressed. It is within walking distance from the station and many attractions in Fukuoka. I highly recommend staying here.

Fukuoka Guesthouse HIVE is an accommodation where you can expect your stay in Kyushu to be a wonderful memory and expectation. There is a cafe BAR with craft beer, it is a place where local people and travelers can enjoy together. A unique and friendly staff welcomes you with a smile.
Not a single bad thing to mention. Beds are super comfortable, shower is great, the lounge area is nice. A quiet place to rest but with a bar to chill and meet people as well. The location couldn't be better. Breakfast included, super friendly staff sharing nice tips with you. This is the type of accomodation you want to get!

The staff were really accommodating and helpful. Great location as it is near to bus station and subway. There’s also a family mart nearby. Few steps away from Kushida Shrine. Will stay here again when we come back to Fukuoka.

I actually stayed at this hostel JUL 2016, but have only just started using Trip Advisor. I had a wonderful time, staying at first for 1 week then another days later on. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the vibe at the bar, and even helped out at one of the English cafe events; it was a fun experience. My business in Japan was visiting friends, and the location of the hostel in Kokura was perfect for me to walk to the station so I could travel into Fukuoka almost daily. The rooms are what you would expect from a hostel. They were kept nice and clean, had great AC (it was a very hot summer) and the WiFi was acceptable for the most part. Overall, a brilliant experience and I’m planning to visit again very soon.

It’s completely away from usual tourist destinations, but perhaps this is the place you are looking for. welcoming to Japanese tea lovers, someone who likes Ecotourism, as well your great opportunity of long term Japanese village stay to “rest your wing” Sky Tea House, a huge tea farmer’s mountain hostel with amazing view, surrounded by tea farm, great rice terrace stretch behind it. plenty of natural water running in neighborhood, you can bathe in Summer. enjoy, this is your dream house.
Sky Tea House is the perfect gateway from touristic places. Located between tea plantation, it offers unforgettable views of the valley below. Jiro, the host, traveled the world and recently opened the guesthouse so we had the chance to share many stories. We were lucky and the village autumn festival was taking place so we could take part helping the organizing committee and this was an awesome experience and one of the best memories we have from Japan.

This cost-friendly hostel is very neat and stylish, with wide bed spaces in the dorm. The layout were also planned well - there is a small personal changing area just before the shower room! New towels were issued for our use every morning. There were many books to peruse at the bookshelves in the common area, so much so that the bookworm in me extended another day just to finish a book I found there. It helps that the whole hostel was almost always quiet. The staff were really helpful with my questions and I had a few lovely chats with Saki. However, there were two areas for improvement. First is the WiFi, which was slow and inconsistent, especially after midnight. I work remotely so I couldn't stay long in a hostel with unreliable WiFi. Second, I was reading in the common room for hours and it gets cold fast. Saki thoughtfully put the portable heater near me when I'm alone there. Although it does help, this is not a feasible move when there are other people using the common room together. In light of my inconveniences, I thought of giving this review 4 stars but on second thought, the flawless hospitality I received here won out. I did enjoy my stay here after all.

I loved everything about the guest house. Our own lockers and storage were perfect, the living room was so homey it felt like a living room. People were nice and spoke Japanese as well as English. I came to japan looking for a full, immersive experience and this was the perfect place. Fun location next to markets, bars, food, close to Kokura castle and the river walk. To me, it’s a better way to experience japan instead of a hostel where everyone only speaks English, and you might forget you’re traveling in another country. I loved it, for me it was home.

TOKI is a small hostel (guesthouse) newly opened in the center of Hakata, Fukuoka in April 2018. Great access from Fukuoka Airport and Hakata station, 6min by subway and 15min on foot. While being located in urban area close to the Hakata station, you can feel the life of little local town. A family-owned hostel where provide you beds and drinks, and local experiences. Our concept is "your home in Fukuoka" where you can feel home even though you are away from home. We aim to provide you the cozy place you can feel home, socialize with people, and enjoy the life of little town as if you live here in Fukuoka.
First dorm experience, a lot of worries before the trip but thank goodness the homey feeling in the hostel soothe my anxiety. Location is good, 15-20mins to Hakata Station by walking, or 100yen by public bus. Bed is super comfortable! Compartment is big enough for sleep and to storage small luggage. Definitely the winning point of all. Very simple facilities, a toilet and a shower room for each gender, and external wash basins. Just be prepared might need to queue for use, but I was lucky that I didnt have to throughout my stay. Other guests in the room might not as gentle in movement, ex when opening/closing the curtain of the individual bed. But it was inevitable...

Ten minutes from Hakata station. 20 minutes from the Fukuoka Airport with good access. You can easily walk to Tenjin and Nakasu. You may enjoy every bit of Hakata without worrying about your watch. It is an at-home Japanese style guesthouse and the price is very reasonable. We have single/twin rooms or dormitory rooms. Travelers who are planning to visit other places in Kyushu such as Nagasaki, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Oita, Saga, or South Korea this is a perfect place for you to take a pit stop.
We only stayed at Guesthouse Kaine for one night as we were only in Fukuoka to watch the sumo, but we would have happily stayed for longer. As other reviewers on here have said, it's a cosy, welcoming and cosy guesthouse. The futons on the floor were comfortable and clean, as were the bathroom and common areas. There isn't a lot of space to relax but there was enough with free tea and coffee.
