One visit to the Yorkshire Dales and it’s easy to understand why the unspoiled countryside is the setting of so many novels. Must-see sights among the land’s lush woodlands and expansive moors include Hardraw Force (the longest single-drop waterfall in the North), Gordale Scar, and well-known hill range, the Three Peaks. Less adventurous visitors can rest easy, walking through the manicured lawns of Parcevall Hall Gardens or appreciating Skipton Castle’s medieval architecture. Although some prefer to take in the land’s wild beauty by foot or horse, the most popular way is via one of the park’s famed cycling routes.

A completely renovated Yorkshire Dales eleven bedroomed hotel, with pub and restaurant with land running down to Aysgarth Falls. Fabulous views of the Yorkshire Dales from all rooms. Twins, doubles and family rooms available.
Had a relaxing stay here mid week. We were on the second floor which is a steep narrow climb so not for anyone with mobility issues. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant meals were very good and you certainly won't be hungry. Would recommend the Eggs Benedict as a lovely alternative to a typical breakfast fry.

An 18th century coaching Inn that has recently finished a major overhaul of the whole hotel. Now featuring 19 newly renovated rooms, a luxury bunkhouse, Bistro and Bars, The New Inn offers fine dining and relaxing in a tranquil setting. Located in the Yorkshire Dale National park, The New Inn is in a prime location for the Three Peaks walk as well as a visit to the famous local caves. Recently awarded an AA 5 star Inn rating, why not see what everyone is raving about?
I came with a group of friends for dinner a couple of Saturdays ago, so this review is for the restaurant only. Excellent food, good beer, a wide selection of interesting spirits, and a nice atmosphere. Couldn't fault it. I understand that it recently had a new chef or something like that. Well, he or she is doing an excellent job!

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. The restaurant is cosy, has wonderful views and serves great food. Our room was very comfortable and clean, and again had a lovely view (pictured). A hearty breakfast is also included in the price. A perfect base for a visit to the Dales!

What a lovely place, a hidden gem for sure, we stumbled across this place on the internet whilst away and decided to stay. It was my wife's birthday and they made a lovely gesture of a card and chocolates, thank you so much. The room (Estate room) was fantastic, bath in the main bedroom, separate bathroom, plenty of space. Warm welcoming atmosphere throughout. the staff were excellent, friendly and provided great service, food excellent and service too, a credit to the whole set up. Will return for another visit without doubt. Thank you once again. Mr & Mrs K.

A great property in the historic, market town of Settle situated moments away from the market square and stunning backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Unwind in warm and cosy guest rooms filled with all the comforts of home. Enjoy classic food, home-cooked and delicious, in the restaurant and then hunker down by the 17th-century Inglenook fireplace or in the comfy hideout with award-winning cask ale. Part of The House of Daniel Thwaites collection.
I booked a character room for two nights. Beautifully maintained property, ground floor bar/restaurant with a real buzz, welcoming staff, totally professional and hepful, beautiful breakfast and classy, delicious evening meal. And the bedroom -- just beautiful. Beautifully decorated and warm (during cold weather) it was ideal.

We received a nice friendly welcome from Charlie and two ladies at reception. Our room (10) was lovely, an open four poster bed with a walk-in shower, but there was nowhere to put our toiletries. We had nice views of the lawn and hills in the distance. It was nice to see the sheep, newly born lambs and some hares and rabbits in the nearby fields. We enjoyed some drinks in the bar and in the lounge, the Pheasant Plucker ran out before the glass could be filled. They had no replacement so I had to have Hen Harrier. My wife enjoyed Blueberry G&T’s. Our evening meal was good, nothing to write home about. There was a limited choices on the menu, just four of starters, mains and desserts. A couple more mains choices would be better. I ordered drinks and a starter of Goats Cheese Tart. The Tart arrived within 4 minutes and the drinks about 5 minutes later. My wife’s main of Lamb Koftas tasted okay, The pita bread had been over cooked and was dry. After complaining, It was quickly replaced with a freshly prepared one. My mains, Sea Bass Fillets (2) and a scallop in batter with egg noodles would have been outstanding if only it had been served on a hot plate. The noodles soon went cool. The broth and in particular the scallop in batter was delicious, I could have eaten four of the scallops. Our Desserts were Caramel & Chocolate Tart, I was very pleased with it, but the Baked Alaska was a disaster, the ice cream had melted! We had a good nights sleep in our Kingsize bed but slept near the middle because it was only fitted with a double duvet ! Surely they must have Kingsize Duvets! Breakfast was very good, I couldn’t fault it, plenty of additional choices besides ‘a full English’. All staff were friendly and helpful. The Falcon Manor is a lovely hotel which has some incredibly nice features. If your wanting a place to chill out away from the hustle and bustle then I can highly recommend it. The grounds are lovely and I can see in warmer days how nice it would be to sit outside with a drink, relaxing, chatting or reading a book. I’ll leave the choice to you! On checking out we were asked about our stay, so mentioned only about the food. The manager without hesitation reduced our final bill to take account of our evening meal issues......... and Yes, I would stay here again, but only bed and breakfast. This was out first stay here, we have stayed on several occasions at one of their sister hotels, The Royal Hotel in Kirkby Lonsdale. Both are quite different regarding locations and things to see and do.

Located in the pretty village of Burnsall, The Devonshire Fell Hotel lies in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, nestled among rolling hills, country lanes and dry stone walls. The property has free WiFi and there is free parking. There are 16 bedrooms at the Devonshire Fell, each boasting their own individual character, with many affording breathtaking views of Yorkshire countryside. The reception area and bar is vibrant and cosy, with colourful armchairs where guests can unwind with a drink. Guests can relax in the 2-AA Rosette restaurant and soak up the striking views as they dine on mouth-watering dishes made using locally sourced produce. The local area is a paradise for walkers and their dogs, which are equally welcomed and stay for free. Many ancient castles, country houses and UNESCO World Heritage Sites are within a 30-minute drive.
Well appointed room with a beautiful view. Stair carpet is not in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The stripes were awful and it is worn in places. The bed was far too soft for me and gave me a bad back. They did not fully service the room during our 3 night stay. The bed was made and towels folded, but no cleaning was done. ( the table which had the tea and coffee on could have done with a wipe). Nice touch to have some crisps and biscuits in the room on arrival.

Escape the ordinary and step into the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Take time to do what makes you happy. Go for long walks, eat delicious food, indulge in great conversations and forget everything else. Situated in the breath-taking Swaledale Valley, The Burgoyne is the perfect place to relax, recharge and unwind. Our third visit to Burgoyne, staying in Gunnerside with lovely views over the Green. Large spacious room with en-suite bathroom. At the end of our week in the Dales, we returned to Reeth, staying in Thwaite, which has a perfect window seat overlooking the green too. It has a private bathroom directly opposite the room.
