Hacienda San Antonio El Puente is located 15 minutes from Cuernavaca, the city of Eterna Primavera (Eternal Spring) and near the historic archaeological area of Xochicalco. The hotel's 50 rooms are exquisitely detailed in an environment of classic hacienda architecture surrounded by lush private gardens. Hacienda San Antonio El Puente hospitality is distinguished by personalized service in an atmosphere that blends luxurious comfort, award-winning cuisine, and contemporary conveniences, with traditional colors, textures, and artworks from the local area. Because of the region's historic ruins, recreational options, and outstanding weather year-round, Cuernavaca is an ideal destination for business travelers, weddings, honeymoons, and family vacations.
Hope you can take the time to read this. Super good: very nice gardens and buildings, friendly staff. Very bad: they don’t watch details and are not customer oriented in management. I would not consider this hotel pet friendly! I think especially in Covid times the customer satisfaction should be even more priority no 1 then ever, as you might depend on them in the future even if it is only 2 nights!? Let’s see, what the responsible manager will reply to this, as I offered to speak in person to him 3 times and none of them ever did. I was here with my girlfriend and our little dog. I reserved thru a Internet side and contacted the hotel directly about the possible extra cost of the dog. I stated, that if I don’t get the response till xx time to cancel, I assume, that the dog is for free. They responded in time welcoming us, but the main interest was to let us know the check in and check out times - not mentioning any cost of the doggy. So for me it was clear, that our dog stays for free. When we arrived, they circled all the ‚important‘ things like check out time and that it is 2 adults and no kids. I told them, that they forgot to circle incl. our doggy, as I was writing to them. They were surprised about that information and had to do some calls. It ended up, that they didn’t have a room like booked anymore and we were offered another room with 2 single beds, which I refused as I wanted a king size as reserved. They were sorry not to have a room like this for doggies and also they told me that the cost per night will be 2000 MX$ (+- 100US$) extra for the little dog!! I refused to pay the extra cost due to my email correspondence. I told the (very friendly and engaged) front desk guy that maybe they would like to offer an upgrade to solve the king size problem. He asked me to forward the email conversation about the dog to them (even if they should have it - how embarrassing). As we had a meeting with friends scheduled, we had to leave the luggage there without being checked in. Not nice, but it was ok for us. It was 3:30 pm - the guy offered me to call me latest 3 hours later to find a solution. I don’t know, what would take 3 hours to decide on that - anyway… the call was 4 and a half hours later telling me, that they found a king size room for me. He wanted to hang up quickly, but I asked about the solution for the cost of the dog. He was embarrassed to say, that his manager said, that we still need to pay for the dog 4000 MX$. I refused again and offered again to talk to the manager as well as I asked for another call - which never happened. At 2 in the night we arrived. Sorry for the lady at the front desk - she wanted to charge for our dog again and I intensively explained her, why I will not do it. Somehow I believe she was a bit suprised about my straight point, but she seemed to accept it. Never the less she asked me for an open credit on my card, which I refused. She accepted it and we could move in. In an extremely small room (no. 8022). Yes it had a king size bed but that was it more or less. Somehow I had the feeling, that they made sure we get the worst possible option. The room was nothing like the pictures I saw about the hotel. There were black spots on the ceiling and old cigarette butts on the balcony! Here was only 1 (one!) coffee capsule and we got some water - both was not even renewed the next day! There was no garden view like booked! I travel over 25 years around the world, but for sure that’s not a room of a 4 or even a 5 star accommodation! Is this the standards of Fiesta Americana!? Or their management try to safe a few pennies on coffee or water and try to pay back the customer for their own mistakes!? So sorry dear people who work there, as I had the impression, that you try to give your guests good hospitality. If your management continues like that I‘m afraid about a long term success in this hotel and therefore your job! It’s also up to you to tell your management, that these are no go‘s in this type of hotel for that amount of money customers spend if the management is to blind to see that! As there is not much around the hotel, we had dinner in the central restaurant the 2nd night. Unfortunately, the first disappointment was, that we were not allowed to enter the open space restaurant with our doggy. Imagine paying 2000 MX$ extra for your dog per night, but you can not bring your ‚family member‘ to the restaurant, but then once you are in, you see, that a cat is walking from table to table trying to get a piece of food from the guests!? I just don’t know what to say who made these rules!? About the food - the pasta of my girlfriend was very good. My shrimps with oil and garlic also were delicious. Only the kitchen has a synchronisation problem. The shrimps were freshly prepared, but the vegetables and the rice was cold! Again - in those type of hotels or resorts the customer can expect a close to perfect experience in my opinion. The waiters were extremely friendly and helpful and always gave you the feeling of hospitality. Prices were ok only the beer (the price was not in the - only Spanish - menu) I felt overpriced with 82 MX$. When we checked out, I asked for the bill - they checked and had some conversation, then they told me, that all is ok. So in the end I did not have to pay for our dog, which I think is correct, as they did a mistake not telling me in advance giving me the chance to cancel or to accept the extra cost. But why did we have to go thru such a bad experience and excitement!? One person in management should have taken responsibility to say - ‚super sorry and thank you for giving us the chance to improve our procedures for the future. For this reason I even would like to give you the opportunity to come again e.g. on a special price, or including a free dinner etc.‘ Would have been so easy! It wouldn’t have costed them a penny until I would have showed up again (not so likely as I’m from Europe) - instead, they showed all their weaknesses in management and wanted to pay us back with the worst room they could find!? Well you can assume, that the joy of staying there was very limited. And now they have a very bad recession, which makes it even more difficult to be successful in the future - so sorry, but please also take this as a chance to improve for the future! You have wonderful premises with a great team and a big potential! If you would like to correspond with me directly about this case, please let me know, I’d love to send you my email address - I still have yours from the reception, as the front desk wanted to have a copy of our correspondence!! By the way - only one guy spoke a little bit of English at the front desk and your menu etc all is only in Spanish. If you would like to attract international guests, it would be nice if you enhance your english bits to make it easier for all! Looking forward to read your response! BR
