Great location and layout

Things I like: Very scenic property with the creek, the paths, the multiple places to sit on the property, the cabins themselves, walking distance to downtown Jackson Hole, rainforest shower, great pool (with warm water), hot tub, and sauna. We'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Rent a bike on site if you have the time and bike into Grand Teton National Park with the path that goes right by the hotel (on the other side of the street). You can bike 40 miles or more into the park - it's all paved and it's all flat, and it's very scenic. Things I'd like to see improved Hot water in the showers, a bathtub vs. shower only, better lighting in the fitness room so that you can read a magazine while working out The buffet breakfast offered a wide selection but I didn't think the quality of the food was top notch.

Good hotel, needs a facelift and better lighting

Reviewed By Sherpa628434

The Lodge at Jackson Hole has a great location near (but not in) the main downtown area with all the tourist shops. Although the hotel could use a facelift, the rooms were not bad. The staff were friendly and helpful - even the very overworked bartender/server and breakfast staff. Their service was great. The front desk staff were great too. Our biggest complaint is the lack of decent lighting in the rooms.

Don't stay here!

Reviewed By michelle p

The hotel states it has A/C, but that isn't true, and if you check the reviews on here, others state the same. We got there and it was stuffy and they told us they only allow the air conditioning until certain months. It's June! The rooms are older and dark, and do not look like the pictures online. The worst part is that a man stood in our doorway, waiting for us to pack up at 9:00am, so they could start cleaning. We had to have the door open due to how hot the room was when we woke up. When we went to talk to the owner, the girl up front said he wasn't there, but we saw him walking away. Really disappointed in this place.

Over priced golf course fees

Many local Cheyenne residents would like to golf here but the price is way out of line for this little course. I guess travelers don't mind the outrageous prices. It also lacks a restroom half way through so you're stuck with the clubhouse only.

The best place for a large group

It’s hard to imagine a better place for a large group. The layout, rooms, location, food and owners are all top notch. Xanterra should lose their Naitional Park monopoly

Reviewed By CalAlPal

We rented a suite from May 13 (the season opening day) through May 18. For over $800 per night you get a large but otherwise unimpressive room. Everything just seemed to be dated. One reason for my choice of a suite was for sound isolation. Every other hotel orients their suites so that the bedroom is separated from the hallway. At the Lake Yellowstone, the bedroom has a hallway door. Brilliant. Although the hallway noise was not bad, it should have been non-existent. The hotel has no wi-fi. Yes, I know one should focus on nature in a National Park -- and we did. Yet there was no way to check Park attractions, check flights or transportation, etc. We have Mint mobile (which uses T-mobile towers). No cell or internet (hotspot) service. Verizon and AT&T does have varying service. I was able to hotspot off my friends' cellphone. The lack of hotel wi-fi is really an unforgivable oversight. Housekeeping is incredibly substandard. They say that housekeeping will only come by every 3 days. Actually, it's worse than that. We stayed 5 days and they came by on day 4. Need I remind you that this is a $800 per night room? The associated services throughout the Park are also run by Xanterra. How they got this franchise for the entirety of Yellowstone Park (and apparently all other National Parks) is beyond my comprehension -- as most general stores, restaurants, and other businesses were not open because they reportedly did not hire sufficient staff. While the staff at the Hotel was excellent (except for nearly non-existent housekeeping), Hotel management and upper management at Xanterra are obviously deficient.
