Many tourists know Windsor for its casino. But if you dig a little deeper, you’ll find fascinating history here. Once an important stop on the Underground Railroad, Windsor became an important center of whisky production and, thus, a major smuggling port during Prohibition. (Apparently Al Capone liked his Canadian Club.) In summer, catch the enormous fireworks display at the International Freedom Festival.

We were in town for a weekend event. Check in was simple, front desk staff very professional and accommodating. However, we left after the second night. We were located on the 5th floor backing onto the parking lot. For reasons beyond my understanding, a giant diesel generator would run on the hour every hour all night long. No sleep was to be had! We spent our last night at a different hotel.

Really disappointed in this stay. We chose this hotel on our home, hoping for a nice hotel room with a view. The view was great, but the room had not been properly cleaned -- there was used coffee in the machine from the previous guests. I called about this - housekeeping came up, but supervisor did not have a mask with her (??). Cleaned coffee maker myself. On checkout from room, no receipt was ever sent, so I had to call from home to request one. Will not be back. There are other hotels along the waterfront worth trying next time.

No microwave in room. Pool and gym closed. Dining room minuscule for 22 floors of guests. Three elevators. Inconvenient parking. “Front desk” button on phone routed to reservations Canada. Went down to lobby, asked two ( not busy) front desk employees about button, and for 2 lightbulbs…manager Karim said he routes calls to reservations when they are busy. I and another guest asked him why now, as the front desk staff were patently free, not busy. Karim retorted, “ I decide when we are busy”. So arrogant manager poorly educated in hotelier business, obviously used to just ordering people around. Cancelled future reservations with this chain as they now employ deficient managers, and treat guests with blatant disregard. We had to eat breakfast in the hall as there are not enough tables for guests. Elevators too few for 22 floors. One staircase. Not good. Room alarm clock faulty. What else? Tiny shampoo/ conditioner bottles. Had to ask for new bottles after two days…there IS no room cleaning! Not on request. Just towels and shampoo IF you ask…and again, you can’t call down, as Karim routes us all to reservations Canada….

Terrific Hotel. We stayed here for a golf event and we’re so happy with our rooms. This hotel is very well run and spotless to a tee. Great comfortable beds and the owners couldn’t have done more to make our stay more pleasant . Front reception was very helpful and we will definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great quiet spot to stay while visiting Windsor.

The front desk girl was extremely rude and attitude towards me . She was supposed to send me a form via email but Instead she sent me someone else’s personal information such as credit card information and everything !!! When I told her what she did, she didn’t even apologize. I don’t feel comfortable leaving my information in their system so I made sure they deleted me information when I checked out . I paid for pool and hot tub and the heaters werent even working so it was cold , Never again am I staying there ever !!

We booked this hotel on the long weekend in May. When we arrived at check in it was an hour after normal check in time. There was only two people at the front desk on a holiday weekend!! The line up was out the door! People were frustrated. There where no luggage trolleys. Outdoor parking at the Holiday inn was $12.95 a night. Most of the Holiday Inn express hotels I have been to you don't have to pay for parking. When the three of us got to our room we noticed that there was no soap in bathroom, one bottle of shampoo for 3 people and not enough coffee cups for three people. We tried calling for more but no answer. There are also no USB ports in the room and clock radio worked intermittently and same for air conditioner. We asked for a wake-up call and did not received one!!! That has never happened to us before. We went to the buffet breakfast which was $12.95 a person. Toaster was broken, eggs were cold, no fruit salad or pancakes left. Had less food then a continental breakfast. They also charged for juice and coffee. We tried to tell the front desk about all the problems we had and they said someone would contact us in 48 hours. No one did. Talked to IHG member relations and they said they would get back to us no one did. So, this is why I'm writing this review. I would not recommend this hotel.

My mom was turning 100 and we needed a nice hotel for myself, hubby and adult daughter to stay. There were several hotels closer to my mom's nursing home but although their prices were similar for a room with 2 queen beds, they were just typical small hotel rooms. For that reason, I chose Towne Place Suites. We were there for 2 nights and wanted a bit more room. We appreciated the extra space that the "living room" arrangement provided and as well as the full kitchen. Our daughter needs to eat both gluten and dairy free, so we had the availability of the full-size fridge to store specialty foods for her as well as the microwave, dishes, etc. The public areas and our rooms were well-appointed and clean. Staff were extremely accommodating from our initial reservation made a few months earlier to our stay until we checked out. Due to Covid rules, we had to provide our vaccination certificates prior to eating breakfast. There was enough even for my daughter to chose from. The lady taking care of breakfast was surprised when we tipped her. Despite having to pay extra for parking, the benefits of this suite/hotel more than outweighed the cost and the fact that we had to drive further to visit my mom. It was very handy when we left, taking the tunnel to the US for our trip to Florida.

We stayed here once before and it was decent. Nothing fancy but newly renovated and clean. Not this time. First of all, we checked in around 7:30-8pm and dropped our stuff off in the room. We checked the room quickly (but I didn’t pull the sheets back like I usually do-big mistake) and it seemed fine besides the fact the toilet bowl had some stains that weren’t scrubbed off- pretty gross but we let it go. Then when we arrived back at the room in the early hours of the morning (around 2am) after the event we went to, we went to get in bed to find crumbs and hair in the bed. Absolutely disgusted. We slept on top of the covers all night. When we showed the front desk person who identified himself as the supervisor in the morning photos of said crumbs and hair and about the toilet, his response was “sometimes they forget to clean the room, next time come ask for a new one”. They didn’t forget- the bed was made and it had been vacuumed. They just did an awful job. When I told him we wouldn’t be returning he asked if we wanted him to call the other manager, at this point we just told him not to. Don’t waste your time or money- this place is dirty and they couldn’t care less. I’m fairly certain they didn’t even change the sheets. If I could put 0 stars I would.
