Middling

The hotel is outside the city center but close to a shopping mall. Clean rooms, there is a kettle. The service is nice but doesn't respect covid restrictions. Breakfasts are good but modest. The restaurant is closed, but there are two dishes every day, unfortunately nothing vegetarian. The hotel has to work on quality to get five points.

Hotel Ksiaz

Książ Hotel is ideal for the relaxing break you’ve been dreaming of, at a castle in an enchanted woodland setting. To take you back in time to the days of the castle’s nobility, the hotel offers a rich choice of accommodation. Książ Hotel, located in three palace outbuildings, is now the largest of the accommodation offerings in the Książ castle and park complex. The facility stands by the majestic Książ Castle, rising on a rock promontory 395 metres above sea level. In this charming setting, the Hochbergs’ former residence continues to represent their best traditions. The castle’s special aura, and the magical air of its surroundings, once drew the crowned heads of Europe, eager to savour its delights. In bygone centuries, Książ Castle’s guests included the Prussian kings Frederick II and Frederick III, Princess Izabela Czartoryska, Prince Antoni Radziwiłł, Wilhelm I (King of Prussia and Emperor of Germany), Nicholas I (Czar of Russia), Winston Churchill...

not worth the money

Reviewed By south_pasadena_CA

Absolutely not worth the money. The service / attitude of staff got stuck somewhere in the communist days. We had the largest suite there - again spacious, but nothing to make you feel as a special guest. Breakfast way below average. But the most comical and equally the saddest was a parking incident. I pulled over , closer to the entrance, so I didn't have to carry/roll suitcases down to the parking lot. Literally, there was a parking attendant 'guarding' the spot I parked in to load the luggage. Apparently it was a spot reserved for a chairwoman (of a hotel? castle foundation?) and quoting the attendant: 'she is like a goddess here'. For as long as, each and every customer is welcomed there, for as long as a mysterious chairwoman is a goddess , ahead of a customer - this is not a place to stay

Needs some work

Reviewed By EvasWorld

We got literally the last room in the hotel, so I can't complain about the room being a bit cramped. Furnishings and bedding are outdated, but this is not a major city so my expectations were not high. However, the main problem I had was the various smells that permeated the hotel. Clearly the restaurant is somehow connected to the hotel building, because as soon as you enter the stairway, you are smelling whatever is cooking, whether that's onions or cabbage. There is a built-in fan above the hallway window, but they don't use it in the winter. Clearly the kitchen itself needs proper ventilation! Our room was down a short hallway, which by contrast smelled like bathroom disinfectant. Yuck. Speaking of the bathroom, despite a fan being installed, as soon as I took a shower, I started smelling mold. Because of this, I would not stay in this hotel again. As far as the restaurant was concerned... the breakfast was barely passable... all the food sits under a warming light without refrigeration, which does not make it appetizing when you're eating a bit late. No kettle for making fresh black tea - this is a cardinal sin in my book. The dinner by contrast was quite good. I had the goulash with potato pancakes and the traditional Polish pickled salads. The tea came properly brewed in a teapot. Service was very good, especially by Polish standards. Since I speak Polish, I can't comment on how interactions in English would have gone.

Just OK if not with the sports facilities and localisation

Reviewed By ks121277

The hotel gains with all the things that surround it which makes the place exceptionnal as a whole. The hotel is proper, astandard 3-star hotel. The beds, although not very big, are comfortable and clean. There'ssome soap provided in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the range of TV channels available is very narrow. There aren't any balconies, just windows overlooking a nice hilly area. It was quiet but I think we were luck to be the only guests on the second floor, out of 3. As we came back late and left earlywe did not use the swimming pool area. But no one told us we could use it in other case... The breakfast was provided to the room and was just ok - sufficient and tasty but with no drink. We could make tea or instant coffee from the ones given in the room at the arrival. The parking is spacious and free. But all toghether the price isn't very low for the quality. Fortunately the staff was smiling and helpful but quiet slow. What I liked most of the place was the area behind it - were close to walking trails. But the streets closest to the hotel are not were welcoming.

Good hotel with very good restaurant

Reviewed By ValMay22

This hotel is for sure one of the best of Walbrzych. The staff is sympathetic, the room is clean but a little bit small. Be careful, there is a main road just aside of the hotel that makes it very noisy. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous (especially the burgers) and not so expensive. Also there are some concerts on the evening :)

Cozy and rustic

Perfect location to visit Książ. Located off the beaten track, so very quiet and peaceful. Good breakfasts. Clean. The owner is very friendly. Whoever decorated the interior, put quite a piece of their heart in it, as the rooms and corridors are very eclectic but original. Unlike many modern houses, this one gets neither stuffy or hot nor too humid. Definitely worth consideration.

Great Location and excellent service

Reviewed By MO553RO655

We had planned a wedding at Ksiaz Castle in the second week of August, the hotel was a perfect location. On the plus side large rooms a large shower room and toilet with views of the Castle from our bedroom window. On the negative side air condition would have been good but as I understand that due to regulations of listed buildings this was not possible. But we were provided with a fan Larger cupboards would have been useful. Excellent breakfast and all staff. In particular we were very impressed by Octavia who looked after us so well. Thank you so much Octavia!
