Sure, Vatican City is tiny—110 acres—but it houses the world's largest Catholic church (St. Peter's Basilica) and has perhaps the best collection of artistic masterpieces in the world (the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's Pieta, the Laocoon Group, etc.). And maybe only 800 people live here, but one of them's the Pope. It's a pretty good argument for quality over quantity.

We had a lovely 4 nights stay at Caesar Place. Our host, Florin was very helpful and informative. Breakfast was simple and tasty. We had a quad room which is rare to find and it was lovely with ensuite. Rooms were clean and beds made every day. Location is near the Lepanto metro and walking distance to Vatican city. Lovely cafes downstairs for morning coffee or brunch.

We are just back from Rome, where we stayed in Vatican Charme apartment. This place is perfect in every way. The location is brilliant. It is very close to the Vatican (Musems and Saint Peter's Basilica) and to Castel Sant' Angelo. The Ottaviano metro station is just 300m away. Numerous good restaurants in the area. The room is cozy and very clean. (They tidy it up every day, just like in an ordinary hotel.) The bed is really comfortable. Coffee and tea facilities and also a tiny fridge are available. The bathroom is really nice. We have been served with really nice Italian style breakfast every morning with coffee/tea/hot chocolate, juices and various cornetti (try the jam filled!) and doughnuts. The hosts Antonello and Gabriele were really welcoming and helpful. They gave us good advice on restaurants and sight-seeing. They accommodated all our needs (e.g. we could leave our luggage in their office on our last day after checking out, so we could still have a comfortable sight seeing day; they organised us taxis to the airport). They did everything so we could really enjoy our stay in Rome and in Vatican Charme. I definitely recommend this place. Anytime I could go back to Rome, I would stay there. Magnifico! Grazie molto!!!

Perfect located at 300 m from Vatican square and 100 m from Ottaviano metro station, with many restaurants, cafes & shops around. The property has all facilities and a good breakfast. A common yard with a nice garden, many trees and flowers adorn this property. So many brilliant places to visit in Rome, so much history, welcoming people, nice food – for sure we have to come back!

What a friendly and warm welcome. The room was so clean and plenty big enough for us for a few days. We were greeted with the keys and the code to the main door and then went exploring Rome. Check out was 10am but was offered longer. Room was cleaned and beds made everyday. Even though we were main road facing the sound proof windows and black out shutters were great! You couldn’t hear a thing. Would highly recommend this place to stay. Breakfast is available and the use of the communal kitchen was a good idea.

Located in an attractive district near the Vatican and the metro station Ottaviano, this is a quiet, well-run apartment. The owner-managers are courteous and welcoming. The rooms, though on the small side, are clean and comfortable. Overall outstanding value.

What a dissapoinent. Booked a nice romantic room, while i was on a plane they tried to charge the card (despite the fact I choosed more expensive option to pay on arrival), when landed they cancelled my booking last minute. Tried to rebook but they just replied info that there is noone at the hotel (even it was over an hour before closing the front desk) All in all left me with no room to stay just before midnight. It was meant to be £149 for 4 night and had to find something last minut that cost me over £360. AVOID THAT PLACE

This place was amazing. Lots of space for our group of 8. Kitchen is equity enough to make a simple meal and have breakfast. (No oven). Tea kettles and lots of mugs for drinks in the morning. Good size fridge. There is a couch in the kitchen that could pull out into a bed. But we didn't use it. There are 3 bedrooms with their own bathroom and a full bathroom in the hall. Each bathroom had a shower and a few small bars of soap and packets of shampoo. I loved that this place was yellow. The window treatments were good. Outer shutters close to keep the room very dark. And this place was simply decorated. We have stayed places that were over decorated and we would put everything up (kids). But here was great. A picture on the wall, and a small jar decorating the night stand. That's it. The location! And the views from 2 of the rooms. This place is closer to the Vatican then you would get riding the metro. The Vatican wall is across the street and you can see the dome from the rooms. Only thing I wish - that a grocery store was closer. We went to Simply Market. It was a little walk. But had everything I needed to make breakfast each morning and dinner a couple of times. There were smaller produce stands closer to us, but I needed more than bananas and oranges. Everything was great. We will recommend this to friends who go to Rome. And if we come back, this is a no-brainer.

Our fourth visit to the apartment and possibly our last. It's a difficult one. We've been here with my parents, and nieces and nephews, but this time on our own. As ever the communication from Antonella before we arrived was excellent, "Bruno the taxi" was waiting for us at the airport, and a representative of Antonella was waiting for us at the apartment. The city tax, which has to be paid, was paid to the gentleman but we were charged for our whole 14 night trip, not the 10 night maximum. Hey ho. Lugging the wheelchair into and out of the tiny lift is getting a bit too much for my wife. The apartment needs a bit of TLC to be brutally honest. Marks on walls remain from our time here last year. The iron was leaking and its cord was frayed, although a new one was supplied quickly. Likewise for the showerhead. Burn marks on the countertop have increased as people think that placing a hot kettle onto PVC is a good idea. The fridge door doesn't close properly but it does seem to keep the cold in. No icebox either. At least a good night's sleep is guaranteed as the mattress in the red room is the best I've ever slept on. Last years problems with noise from the neighbours above are now gone, but there is the usual noise of a city which is fine by me. Don't get me wrong, the apartment is still great for the money, the location is superb, ice cream shops abound, the superb pizza place is still around the corner, (see my review below) , but we'll leave it a few years until we return.
