An old farmhouse in the historical center of Tirano restored to become the first "charming hostel" of Italy. Pleasant location for a relaxing or active holiday in the Alps, in the town where the famous Bernina Express , UNESCO heritage, starts its tour to St. Moritz. Tirano is also strategic to reach many ski areas (Bormio , Livigno, Tonale, Engadine / St. Moritz, Aprica...). In summer you can hike (Via Alpina, Via Valtellina, Sentiero Italia...) or ride the most famous climbs of the "Giro d'Italia" (Gavia, Stelvio, Mortirolo, Bernina and others). Bike park and the trails of the Transalp race are really close. Culture and flavors of Valtellina with the amazing terraced vineyards are other elements of great charm. The hostel has got 8 rooms, all with private bathroom and wifi-free access. We wait for you! Alessia, Andrea and Samuele
I booked to stay here long before my arrival and the totally brilliant host Andrea kept me informed throughout about any info needed re covid etc. Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed and made to feel at ease with a little tour of the property and provided with all info needed for my 8 night stay. My room was very large , had a lovely balcony and bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and the whole place spotlessly clean. The breakfast was of good quality in a very relaxed atmosphere. There is a garden patio area with magnificent views. I can't praise Andrea enough as he was always at hand and we enjoyed many conversations. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend a stay here.

Hotel Corona is located on the main road of Tirano, just 150 mt. far from the Rail Station square point of departure of the famous Bernina Express. Composed by 4 floors connected by an elevator, the hotel has been renewed in the winter season of 2014. It offers standard rooms, simple and functional, and superior rooms with the most modern comforts. The charming dining room is suitable for dinners and important ceremonies. We serve there the buffet breakfast that can also be taken in the outdoor veranda. In the hall, with TV LCD, you may have your drink from the bar. A few steps from the hotel, it's possible to have dinner in our Restaurant Bernina. It offers National kitchen with many choice, salad buffet, various desserts and also menus with typical dishes of our Valtellina. Available covered or uncovered parking places in the hotel or in its neighborhood, on reservation with fee.
The room was ready as we arrived at Lunchtime. It was very clean and everything was in good condition. Breakfast with a big choice of different kind of food. The taste of the coffee was not my favored but i found an alternative.

This is not a fancy hotel. My room was small, but comfortable and they have a nice dining room with a good breakfast. The location is also good. But it was noisy due to a dog that barked in the middle of the night and early morning hours. When I went to the dining room for breakfast, I heard barking again and I looked into the kitchen and there was the culprit: one of the kitchen staff's pets!

Even if late in the night, at the moment of our arrival in this small and pretty family-managed Hotel situated in the town center, we received a warm welcome from the owner Roberto, who could easily be employed at the Tourist Office, considering the amount of interesting and useful information and intelligent tips he gave us not only concerning the trip onboard the “Bernina Express”, but also about gastronomic shopping (wine, cheese and “bresaola”) around Tirano. The Hotel is clean; rooms are cosy and recently refurbished, with large and functional bathrooms. You can pleasantly enjoy the sound of the river Adda flowing under the windows and brighting your sleep. Hearty and good breakfast. Great bang for your buck.

The Hotel Stelvio is situated in the Centre of Tirano on the banks of the river Adda, on State Road 38 from which it takes its name, in the direction of Bormio, Stelvio; you will be welcomed with natural cordiality in a quiet family atmosphere. Open all year, has special agreements with nearby restaurants.
I had a room on backside but it was still very noisy because of huge car traffic on Statate Stello Stelvio street. Meanwhile, room was clean. Another downside : book your room on a website like hotels or booking. If you are showing yourself at the desk without booking, they will tell you there is a mistake and no room is available at the rate shown. They will instead propose you a much higher rate and tell you they are nice by giving you a queen size bed if you are travelling alone. I usually recommend people to book directly at the hotel's official website, except if that hotel doesn't make things correctly

The B & B Stephany, was made renovating the ground floor of a residential property in the area of the historical center of Tirano, near the Porta Milanese 300 meters from the station of the Bernina red train and the railway terminus Italian. The proprietary "Stefania" with her husband, "Gabriel" (owner of another hotel in the area) have realized this B & B to meet the numerous requests for accommodation in the area as a reference point to take the famous Bernina Line. The structure lends itself perfectly as accommodation and starting point for this trip from Tirano to St. Moritz. All rooms have private bathroom with shower, toiletries and heated towel rail. The breakfast (continental) is "Self Service" with BAR area available at any time to drink a coffee or a nightcap in the evening. We offer FREE buying tickets Bernina red train. We have agreements with the Baths of Bormio for a day of complete RELAX
we stayed here after trip on Bernina express. Tirano a lovely town to wander in the evening and have a meal, lots of atmosphere. B & B Stephany is great value for money, very nice host. Breakfast was left out for us due to an early start so we could just help ourselves. Good coffee available as we wanted too. Only downside was thin walls so could easily hear neighbours in next room, fortunately they went to bed early.

La Rotonda Hotel is located a few meters from the Sanctuary of Madonna di Tirano, in the homonymous locality of the town.Della Torre family will be happy to welcome you in a warm family atmosphere, where you can taste the typical local Valtellina cuisine or italian and international dishes. At the crossroads between the media and the high Valtellina and the Poschiavina valley, the Hotel La Rotonda is a favorable starting point for most attractive places of cultural and naturalistic interest in the area.
We spent one night at this hotel before taking the Bernina Express to St. Moritz. It is not too modern, but clean and cosy. The location is good too, very close to the train station. We liked the service at the Reception.
