I had a lovely experience in the lobby lounge at the Shangri-La Hotel. It really is underrated - the wine selection is great with wine available by the bottle or glass. The snacks provided with wine are also great (although a lot more than I expected). Winnie in the Lobby Lounge was excellent, very polite and professional. Happy to go back any time.

Arrived about 20min before end of serving time for breakfast. Value for money (22euros) is not very good at this time... most options were cold and soggy. Disappointing experience for a five star hotel. Although i would give four stars for effort by the staff.

Breakfast was included and the lady at the desk was very helpful

Well, how you judge an hotel when almost all restaurants, the gym, the pool and the sauna was closed during your stay? Actually simple, just by the staff. We were there during the New Year holidays when the whole Corona thing just became serious. The first action taken by the hotel was shutting down the aforementioned facilities what was - quite frankly - a huge bummer for us. However, I believe it was necessary. I would guess together with us were approx. 50 other guests at the property. The staff did a great job especially the restaurant team as well as the front desk. After two days they started to check our temperature at the entrance but really tried their best not to bother anyone. Always kind, always polite. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. We got complimentary water for us and our son as much as we wanted, got an upgrade to a suite for one night and were overall very satisifed by their attitude towards guests in these difficult times. Our F&B highlight was the Chinese restaurant at second floor (all others were closed anyway). We went there three times to try different things and it was authentic, tasty and propper arranged. The breakfast on the other was a bit dull, not in terms of choice - which was really really good if you are into Chinese breakfast - rather the freshness was an issue. Since there were only a couple of guests, things had no turn over and some fried eggs looked like hours old. However, we would recommend this hotel at any time. Since my in laws just live around the corner, the Hilton will be our preferred destination for our future trips. I would like to thank the entire team for trying their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible under given circumstances. Other highlights: + beds + English movie channels + internet speed

I was very disappointed with the location of this hotel. As Tianjin hotels were fully booked for this week, our company agency said I should go to the renaissance hotel. I thought it would be in Tianjin, as the address says that, but it’s actually 45 minutes east of the airport in Binhai, and it is in an industrial area with nothing else close by within walking distance ( or if there was we could not see it in the dark). We passed shops and restaurants on the way to the hotel but they were too far to walk to in the dark. The hotel itself is very nice and very friendly staff. The evening meal in the brasserie was either buffet ( not too bad) or a la carte ( not great). The a la carte main meal gave me the impression it had been stored pre cooked and reheated again. The buffet was much better and fresher. Breakfast was very busy and chaotic as usual. Maintaining your place when going to choose more food was a challenge as it is free seating I.e. you don’t get shown to a seat where the staff know you are now occupying, so you run the risk that someone will take your place. The room was nice, but not too big. The bed was ok, but the pillows were poor. The room was very noisy, especially with noise coming from the room on the floor above. Floors were banging significantly. The worst feature of the room was the heating , or in fact cooling. It was too hot and was maintaining 25 degrees , even if you set 18. It only made the fan turn faster with more noise but the temperature never decreased in 2 days.

The hotel offers what I would call "old style" luxury. However, I found it to be not worth the money. Few reasons: Booked directly through Marriott Bonvoy app to get a rate that did not include breakfast or any other perks. Travel websites offered better rate with breakfast. My Titanium Elite benefits weren't very valuable (granted I got my 1,000 bonus points) but turns out St Regis does not offer some of the perks that lower level brands of the Bonvoy family offer. My room upgrade was from city view to a river view - not much of a river, not much of a birw, and kid of useless on a one night business stay. Room itself was fine, although carpet was kind of old. Bathtub didn't drain well. No take out cup to take my coffee with me in the morning. The Butler service staff don't speak enough english - I asked to have a shirt pressed and had a staff member come up to my room to bring me slippers (?). Gym was eh... Pool and sauna facilities looked great but I never got to try them, since it closed at 10pm and didn't reopen until 10am. I finished my meetings late and had to leave the hotel by9am the next day. Clearly, the facilities are not geared to the busy people. Next time, I'll likely pick the Westin where I get a lot more for my membership and money.

Beautiful hotel nicely situated in Nankai. The hotel is welcoming with airy and high ceiling in the lobby, punctuated with nice art. It was my first time going there and I must complement the excellent service, particularly from Ms. Carol Fu. We had lunch that was most impressive at the Brasserie G, off Bamboo restaurant. The food and service were first class. Chef Kim explored dishes inspired from Vietnam, Malaysia and as one cannot travel at the moment, it was a welcoming tour through delicious food! We will return, and I highly recommend!
