Well maintained, quality furnishing, decent breakfast, good value
Reviewed By Lily WStay in Deluxe room, spacious, ample solid wood furnishing, bed, sliding wooden door curtain gave a antique warm feel, bathtub was a treat, many newer hotel wouldn't have bathtub for RM150 per night, marble bathroom floor and sinktop, looks wee b it aged but functions well. Personally for environmental friendliness, it is better to maintain quality aged furnishing in hotel rather than continuously dismantling older furnishing to change to new ones which likely to be of less quality, like no longer solid wood or marble. Lobby and breakfast area also have marble floor, lavish chandelier, wood frame walls. Breakfast though limited choice was quite tasty. Just one suggestion: please provide milk for coffee rather than just using creamer pack.

Reviewed By Richard LStayed overnight in August 2019. It was a very pleasant surprise. Very clean hotel with nice rooms and amenities. Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant to work with. Close to town and several restaurants very close by. We would definitely stay here again

Decent hotel at a fair price
Reviewed By 341ericsCity Garden Hotel is in a good location south of the main hotel district. It is close to the ocean and this the seafood markets. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the price was fair. Breakfast delivered to your room was a nice touch as well.

Good location, old hotel
Reviewed By RuthRenataOnly worth the location. The rooms are big but old and dirty. Last time i stayed, the water was down tge whole morning so we had to wait for several hours to get a shower. Tha family rooms are newer than the standard rooms.

So greedy, hotel room charges also the same, they will charge extra for change type of bed(twin to king size), the funniest experience was the extra charge for half boiled eggs during breakfast, it seems to be not in one package breakfast, many hidden charges, so uncomfortable, if you want to book a room the best way is via " online" booking, walk in is not advisable and more expensive choice, rooms was standard. But there is many hotel rooms in Tawau which is more cheaper & comfortable, always check for hidden charges, Tawau Hotels practicing that style of business.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, but rooms dirty

The location isn't as good as we thought it would be from GoogleMaps (not many restaurants etc close by) but staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was great - lots of variety, and all tasted good. However...our room was very shabby and dirty. The bedding and towels were clean thankfully, but the walls had marks all over them, and the carpet looked filthy. It was fine for the price paid, but in future I think I'd rather pay a bit more and get somewhere clean.

Bathroom : nicely designed and clean. no qualms about it Toiletries: available Staff : friendly Surroundings : lotsa food and necessities. grocer is just opposite. Comment : 1. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this hotel to everyone as this is the ONLY hotel is at par with Hotels else where in malaysia. Clean and Comfortable and well Designed 2. Dislike, lotsa of tiny fruit flies in the room. simply annoying and disgusting 3. TERRIBLE wifi and you cant work in this sorta situation

Reviewed By FoodieLover888I have stayed in this Hotel for a night and found that the room is not up to the expectation as in their website.. i rather not to recommend to stay in this hotel but you really have not much choice in Tawau.. there are some other clean hotel surrounding, i think.. they need to really do cleaning / room service properly.. can found hair in the blanket, mattress, pillow.. irritating when seeing those hairs.. they sprayed scent smell in everywhere.. anyway, room cleanliness is the main probably.. other than room looks old.. receptionist counter is good.. no comment on that..
