My trip for hiking Mount Lawu

The first thing that made me so disappointed is very hard on the door open, even with the extra energy kick. ... as we book 2 room , as is connected room so abit lucky door can open from inside , so for room inside is ok for sleeping a night, than as got free breakfast we excited about it.... we go breakfast to Hotel Bintang ... as breakfast place is not same building so we have , to cross opposite Hotel , Here we go ..... this hotel is very bad in service !!! Rubbish breakfast no event for coffee choice !!!, staff not help at all !!! And for me really disappointed for breakfast we have !!! Poor food and staff !!!

Clean and good location
Reviewed By robert_sambudjoi've stayed here at mid August 2020, with my family. Facade is a new hotel, clean enough. And the location is strategic, in the middle of Tawangmangu, beside the Balekambang Park and Bangun Trisno Resto. So nothing to worry if we need some food in the night. Parking area is small, so if we come late, need to park the car in front of the hotel, near Balekambang Park. The room is clean, even not spacious. Only i don't know why the hot water is just slightly warm. I also checked at the other room is the same. I think maybe the boiler for the water heater not enough. This is opportunity to improve for the hotel. The breakfast are simple, not so much variations of the menu. Maybe this is also need to improve. But overall, this hotel is nice, clean, and the location is strategic.

They say they are 3 Star, but...
Reviewed By Tex1358My wife and I had planned a small get away trip and at the time, almost every hotel in Tawangmangu was booked and I ended up booking with Bintang Hotel. The pictures of the place seemed great and it is located on the main road All rooms have a balcony. Those are about the only positive things I can say. Check in took longer than most places and once in the room, that is where things took a nose dive. The door to the room was a pain to open. The room smelled like smoke and looked like someone did a 10% job cleaning it. Dead bugs, hair, dirty sheets, lights that flickered after you turned them off. There is no AC, just a ceiling fan. The worst was the toilet. The door was rusting away and one of the door knobs came off. There is no shower curtain so water gets everywhere. The hot water worked once. The toilet itself looked like no even bothered to clean it as there was pee stains all over. Next time, I will sleep in a car before staying here again. I know it was after Christmas, but $55 or 746.000 IDR for a night is a joke. What is sad is, they say they are a 3 star hotel. Sorry, but POP Hotel is closer to a 3 star hotel than Bintang Hotel.

Budgeted Hotel, poor of cleanlines but excellent location!
Reviewed By kdewijorisI stayed for one night in this hotel during the peak season. Good is I didn't expect too much since in the beginning and already informed my children about it. We booked 2 superior rooms. No aircon as Tawangmangu is already cold. The rooms are outdated, poor cleanlines in the bathroom, even the hot water at my children's room not working. But the staff were nice and gave us quick response. The good thing about this hotel is the location. It's located right in front of Balekambang and Grojogan Sewu gate, it's just across the road. The breakfast was only fried rice or toast with tea or coffee delivered to your room, and we're okay with that. One night is OK, not more :-)

Reviewed By moviegeekjnWe stayed here overnight during our tour of Java. The room is quite large and king sized bed firm and comfortable for sleeping. On the downside was lack of hot water and no English speaking TV channels. The breakfast was very good....be sure to get the eggs. The omelette was excellent.
