Nice Little Cabañas
Reviewed By Suzanne YThe highlight of this property is definitely the owners and the staff. They were really nice and friendly. Our cabaña was cute and comfortable. All the units surround a play area and I think it would probably be a very good place for a family or if you were travelling with a few people and needed separate apartments. We were there off season and there was a lot of renovation going on which I guess is necessary. The property isn't far from town so easy enough to reach but the property is down from the street. With Tafi del Valle being such a wonderful valley, I would have preferred a hotel with better views.

Outstanding - brilliant place to stay
Reviewed By Hazel SOnly stayed for one night but could easily have stayed longer. Great hospitality. The place is isolated but that’s the charm and beauty of it. It’s a working dairy and cheese farm so you can see the cows being milked. The rooms are lovely and very clean. Good shower and very hot water. The restaurant had a great choice and was very reasonably priced. Probably too cheap for the quality of food. Good wine selection and again not expensive. Breakfast included cereals and fresh bread plus cake. Good coffee too. It was absolutely perfect. The staff - Fanny plus others were very friendly and tried hard with English. So with my limited Spanish we understood each other. Horse riding is an option. Definitely recommend. Great place and great hospitality. Would love to return.

THE BEST PLACE TO RELAX...!
Reviewed By R7358LFpablobAfter a looong time without writing in Trip Advisor, I decided to come back with a review of an astonishing place, ideal for find peace in our (sometimes) really tired bodies, to charge our batteries in a short period of time (something like the brand new smartphones...?). The place to review is CABAÑAS DEL VALLE, in a lovely village called Tafí Del Valle, located in the middle of the Andes Precordillera; with a small amount of imagination, you can be in the middle of the Swiss Alps, specially during the winter! This family-owned business has two different types of accommodations: cabins (up to 6 people), and small apartments (2 to 4 people, depending of the selected apartment). Every accommodation is perfectly suitable for their purpose: comfy, with all the amenities needed for cooking, take a good shower, DirecTV (satellite TV)... Even during summer time (I went there as from December 30th, 2019 to January 2nd, 2020), air-con is not needed; this is very important, taking in consideration that Tafí Del Valle is near the Capricorn Tropic, but it is 2,014 meters (6,608 feet) above sea level... So, nights are quite cold, even in summer! The average maximum summer temperature is 26°C (79°F), and the average maximum winter temperature is 16°C (61°F)... But beware! It is usual to have minimum temperatures of -17°C (2°F!!!) in winter! The Village Centre is only less than 5 minutes away from the complex, by car; it is compulsory to go with a car, or take the bus (line named ACONQUIJA -- 2h30min from Tucuman City), and then take a taxi. The services include Breakfast (08:00 to 11:00 AM) and Afternoon Snack (same as breakfast, served from 04:30 to 7:00 PM), served at your Cabin or Apartment. Ideal place to stop for a couple of days before continuing to the North of the country: Amaicha Del Valle (the best archeological museum in the Tucuman province), then Cafayte (nice wines! in Salta), and finally Jujuy (northern province in Argentina). PRICES: - ARS 3,400.00 per day for the Apartments (up to 4 people) (GBP 44.00, EUR 51.00, USD 57.00, per day, per apartment); - ARS 4,200.00 per day for the Cabins (up to 6 people) (GBP 53.00, EUR 63.00, USD 79.00, per day, per cabin); - Prices are from January 2020.

Small village
Reviewed By Tarnya EWe were making our way to the far north of Argentina and first stop was in this quaint place. It is about 4hts drive from Tuchman airport. The hotel is older style but clean and staff were friendly. Rooms at the front look over the lake and hills. The town does not have a lot to do but it had plenty of market stalls to look through and a few cafe restaurants.

Cozy, beautiful, close to center
Reviewed By Solaz PThis is a beautiful place to stay, very colorful and comfortable. The room has a king bed and is very spacious. Hot water, wifi, heaters, swimming pool, parking space. The people in charge are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is modest with homemade bread, pastries, juice, coffee, tea, chocolate and cereals; we recommend to buy some cheese in the town and bring it for breakfast; the cheeses are delicious! I also recommend to bring slippers or walking socks, the floors in the bedroom are cold. So far everything was good!

Awful stay
Reviewed By RotilidhThe hotel has several drawbacks that make the stay unpleasant: 1) It Is next to a nightclub that makes it impossible to sleep. Even on sundays. 2) Breakfast is low-quality and not self-served but served by the staff (slow and uncomfortable). 3) The TV was not working. They told us that we would get our room changed the next day but they said nothing afterwards, we were not approached and simply resigned to watch the TV of the common spaces. 4) Furniture was low quality. Doorpicks were out of place, the plastic cover of the stairs was not completely removed, the bathroom was small and stinky, the plastic flowers in the domingo room were horrible. 5) We paid for a queen size bed but got two single-beds put together instead.

Freddie the owner makes a great breakfast and his wife makes incredible strawberry jam! The room and location were perfect but what really made our stay was the kindness of Freddie. Thank you. Reviewed By LotuslandersThe town of Tafi del Valle is very pleasant but we found our two nights in this run down hotel to be depressing. The rooms are small and feel like an old boarding school. Our first night on the ground floor was disturbed by the noise from rooms beside us and above us and the car alarms from cars parked right beside the hall window. It's not that the other guests were noisy, there is no sound-proofing. The second night was a bit quieter in an upstairs room. Breakfasts were minimally adequate compared to other hotels at this price in Argentina.

Warm and welcoming
Reviewed By barneypalfOur overriding memory is what lovely people Robert and Marcella are and how welcome they immediately made us feel. The rooms are lovely and have everything you need. Breakfast was very good continental. We were offered eggs/omelette cooked and took breakfast in their house which is authentic and beautiful. They are currently building a breakfast room. It is true it is tricky to find. The satnav alone did not manage it but by looking for the KM signs on the road we got within half a mile then picked up the signs. It is a decent walk to town, all downhill, probably 25 minutes and we also walked back...about 40 minutes!! The torch on our phones was handy for the last bit from the road. We stayed at 9 different hotels on our trip to Argentina and on the face of it Posada Las Sonada was the simplest, but the warmth of the welcome and the room facilities and location made it one of our favourites and one we will remember.

Las tacanas was an old jesuitic estancia whose construction is dated around 1720 It functioned as a estancia till 2002 when it was remodelled to become a hotel boutique runned by a descendant from the original owners , the Bazans , owners too of the independence house,with a lot of history it is strategically placed in the village Visitors can go walking to restaurants and shopping in the area It is ideal to rest as it has a big garden that isolates it from the village You can organice asados in the quincho with all the ammenities needed We have a special room for incapacitates, disabled will have a room and bathroom specially designed for them We are eager to tell you about the history of this unique hotel and show you the original room from one of its early owners, Nicolas Laguna, who was 3 times elected governor of the province and retired to manage his estancia in 1828 Tafi has a marvellous climate and scenery We will be glad tohelp you spend a nice stay in Las Tacanas
Charming Characterful Hotel
Reviewed By Lloyd HWe stayed here for 3 nights as part of a trip to NW Argentina and loved the old world charm of the place. The hotel is a beautiful building full of history, decorated with antiques but updated enough with modern amenities to make our stay comfortable. The building is within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops of Tafí but set back enough in its own grounds to be quiet and restful. Our room was cosy and warm in the chilly Tafí evening, with comfy bed and good shower.. Breakfast was the usual modest Argentinian affairof pastries, toast and coffee and served in the lovely old dining room. If you come expecting the glitz and glamour of a 5 star hotel you will be disappointed, but if you want to experience a beautiful and unique historic building then I can thoroughly recommend Las Tacanas.
