The place is beautiful yes, I loved the design of the rooms but it looks like the management disappeared after covid. Feelted not super clean, and place surely needs a renovation. According to some locals an investor offered to buy and do a great renovation but the owner said no, and have not done anything about the poor condition. Food is very expensive with no quality. It is so hard to get there since the road is falling apart, you cant get to the beach because the road does not anylonger exist. It is expensive, but they still cant pay their butlers more than Rp 50 000 per day and they are expected to react directly on any demand as they have to be available 24 h a day! So bad! And also, it is far away from everywhere!

What an amazingly refreshing place to stay. Its a training hotel, but don't be put off by that. Attention to detail in all departments. It's the best place we've stayed whilst traveling round in Indonesia.

The Padadita is a great hotel. There is no beach but the infinity pool is amazing and the whole pool area is a perfect place to relax. It's well designed to accomodate kids and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The WiFi, AC and hot water work great too! The food is tasty and the portions are both reasonably priced and large! We loved it and I was surprised to find such a nice and reasonably priced hotel on Sumba. It's a perfect place to take day trips around East Sumba from.

We are here to help you relax your mind and body. In our resort you find everything what you need for rest. The All area is quiet place with many interesting spots for snorkelling, diving or just chilling. When you come to Mario Hotel you fall in love to pure nature around and beautiful ocean view from your room.
It was a good stay. One of the best service in Tambolaka. They have private beach. The staff very friendly. I can enjoy sunset and sunrise from their beach. Nice place to stay and it is worth enough to pay the value. I will stay here again if come back to this island again.

Where do I start?! The images used by the property to advertise the resort are extremely misleading and a complete misrepresentation of the property. The whole resort is unclean, uncared for and not maintained. Plants are dying/dead, paths are overgrown, pools are unclean and damaged, ac smells of mould, animals living the the roof, bathrooms represent a prison cell, and the manager needs basic training in hospitality and customer service.... I could go on. I took lots of pictures as proof that the resort is misleading their customers and offering accommodation WELL above a price suitable for the current state of the resort. I visited the ‘resort’ with a friend. Upon arrival our first opinions of the resort were ‘this is not like the pictures’. We unpacked, turned on the ac and contemplated what to do, as there was a storm starting to approach Sumba. We asked Ibu Anna (manager) if we could use the internet to plan our trip on google maps as the storm approaching had changed our plans. Ibu Anna said there was no internet to use, even tho her staff and herself logged into wifi (that I have a screenshot of) This level of service didn’t sit well with us, specially due to the level of need to contact family and search alternatives! Cyclone off shore and flood warning calls for use of internet!!! On returning to the room, the were met with an awful smell of mould coming from the aircon, and a very loud noise of a family of birds from the low ceiling above one of the beds. We asked to move rooms and this process was handled ok, with staff helping us move our belongings in the rain, to a larger room. This larger room had a balcony covered in extra furniture (tables, clothes racks and wooden chairs etc) and Ibu Anna explained that this would be removed.... never was! I was not going to pay ‘extra’ for this ‘upgrade’ see pictures of the bathroom for a visual.... I have many more I wish to share. During our three night stay (4 nights booked) we had to ask twice for the room to be cleaned and when I asked for a refund for the final night we choose not to stay, as we decided to make our way closer to the north near the airport for departure, we were told no refund!! It is with all this, and other examples and evidence, that I asked the property for a refund. Rua Beach has totally misrepresented the property and offered no solution or sincere apology. Instead I was met with a staff member telling me ‘Hallo mr.(I’m not a Mr!!!) I am sorry Why u asking me the refund ? You book through booking.com right The you stay as your booking in our resort It so funny you are said dispointed then you askung refund You have to know There is no booking.com contact us (booking.com had contacted them) Only through email telling that you only complain (yeah correct, I have complained, and you have received notification of this) Then you know exactly when you book through booking.com rules Then you know also you was check in and check out Mr i am so sorry there is no refundable You can do what you what to do on social media We had do best for you since you stay in our place’ Since then they have deleted their WA picture and my replies have been sent, but not delivered!!! The inappropriateness and lack of professionalism is just unbelievable. For the mentioned above, and much more- DO NOT BOOK at this so called ‘resort’ !!!

We stayed at Alamayah for the first part of our trip in Sumba, before moving to Nihi. The staff were so warm and attentive. The room was spacious, they set up enough beds for our family, everything we requested, they accommodated at a high standard. We loved the excursions they offered! We went to the nearby local village and interacted with a family. There was no power, they sacrificed pigs and carabaos. It was so authentic. That’s a memory we will never forget. My husband went on a 2hr bike tour, past small villages, fields, animals grazing, it was beautiful. We wanted to explore the nearby beaches on our own, but the staff followed us - which was actually good as we didn’t know the paths to take. Then for the last activity, they set up a picnic for us on the cliff. All 8 staff of the resort came out and attended to our needs, even the chef! It was a very memorable trip.

Bungalow beach resort with natural ethnic restaurant. Located along the private Purukambera Beach, Pondok Wisata Pantai Cemara offers free parking facilities and rooms with ocean views. Rooms are fitted with an attached bathroom. A mosquito net and seating area are provided. Boat Fishing, bicycle, Horse Ridding and car rental services are available. A variety of local food can be enjoyed in the restaurant. Room service is also available.
We stayed overnight and were the only guests in these pandemic times, but the staff were quite literally falling over themselves to take care of us and make us feel welcome. We had three meals in the restaurant (lunch, dinner and breakfast). All excellent. Our room was very rustic. One or two things didn’t maybe work so well (eg the concrete floor meant it was impossible to keep your feet clean) but overall it was great. This a very well run, cute place with so many little touches and details. The beach setting is sublime. Really beautiful. Highly recommended if you’re in the area or even visiting Waingapu. It’s only a 45 min drive.

If you plan to have a long-term stay, staying at Hotel Pasola is the right choice for you. Various facilities available and good quality service will make you feel at home. Satisfying service and adequate hotel facilities will make you comfortable at Hotel Pasola. A 24-hour front desk is ready to serve the check-in, check-out process and your other needs. Don't hesitate to contact the reception
A solid choice with standard 3 star hotel facilities. The hotel is quite new and met expectations in almost all aspects. There was free coffee, tea, and water at the reception as well as a communal table - great for group dining, etc. The hotel itself is practically right outside of the airport compound, though it also means that it's quite away from everything else. The only thing we didn't like was the hotel didn't honor our breakfast entitlement despite us having shown the confirmation from the travel agent. The receptionist simply shrugged and said there was a system error.

Really love this Resort. The location is perfect. About 20 minutes from Airport. Not in the middle of town. Cen feel the breeze from the room. I can see the river and hill from my balcony. The view from the restaurant was very beautiful. The breakfast was great, not to many choices but the taste is very delicious. Trekking to the hill in front of the Resort is very reccommended. It was around 2 hours in the morning. Trekking with 2 Dogs , Pak Samuel & Medi (trekking guide from Resort) and with Pak Freddy (owner of this Resort). Pak Freddy (owner) is very friendly and humble. I will be back to this Resort with my family for sure. And next time I will try the canoe. Thank.you Pak Freddy and Batman. Love the Resort so much.

We provide you the best hotel in waikabubak, sumba barat, there are ac, tv, hot water in each room, and cafe in front of our hotel
I was a little unsure about which place to book for a 2 nt stay in Waikabubak. Accommodation in the town, it’s fair to say, doesn’t have a great reputation. Although there aren’t many reviews online for Morika Inn, those which I found were quite favourable so I put my trust in the experiences of others. The room was clean. WiFi so-so. TV worked. Small terrace by the front door to sit out on. Bed not the best but acceptable. The bathroom wasn’t quite so clean, especially the drain in the floor (full of hair....urgh), the tumblers (dirty) and the soap/shampoo dispensers (1 broken, 1 empty). But not really so bad to cause offence and ok for 2 nights. We had a simple veggie breakfast included in the rate (which was brought to our room - presumably a Covid thing) and the cafe makes decent coffee (extra charge). The staff helped us with transport for onward travel. Overall, I was happy with my choice. It’s not perfect, but it was fine for a short stay. Fairly decent location on the edge of town in a nice neighbourhood and close to a couple of decent restaurants.
