The Kensington Stars Hotel is the nearest place from which the beautiful unexplored regions of Mt.SeorakㅡKorea's most famous vacation areaㅡcan be seen. It boast the panoramic view of Kwon Geum Sung, admired so greatly by the former president Park Jung-Hee, he held his own exclusive room in the hotel. The Kensington Stats Hotel is the first Theme Hotel in the World. It is decorated with goods contributed from celebrities of the cultural and sports world. The hotel has an English-style interior and gracious atmosphere, within which the Kensington family presents beautiful memories that each and every one of the customers may keep deep inside his or her heart.
I gave it two stars since the location is walking distance from the beautiful trails. There are too many negatives though and would highly suggest looking elsewhere! Our room had numerous insects in it, stains on the carpet, peeling wallpaper, black mold in the washroom, and a musty old smell. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable so we had a restless night. To make matters worse you can hear every noise from neighbours and in the hall since the walls are paper thin! The food at the breakfast buffet was unmemorable but the selection was good; however, even the main dining area had dust everywhere, it was generally a very dusty hotel!! Also, the hotel ran out of soap!!!! EWWW! The main washroom had no soap, luckily I do carry around hand sanitizer! Go elsewhere, trust me!!

Lotte Resort Sokcho is the top notch accommodation in the city with its superb location on top of a hill with three sides of the property having ocean views. We booked the pricier condo room that has a full kitchen and two bedrooms. With visits to restaurants being ill-advised during the pandemic, it was nice to be able to prepare all the food in the room while enjoying the comfort level of a higher end hotel. I probably don’t want to be there when it’s near full capacity as the elevator wait time was frustrating and the check-in process wasn’t all that efficient.

This is a more korean style hotel. You can experience the korean way of living as there’s a room which you can sleep on the floor. As it is in Dec and the weather is cold, the floor is warm with heater and your clothes can be dry overnight if you put it on the floor. There’s also a bed if you do not wants to sleep on the floor. There’s no big tower as korean use only small tower when they bathe. Supermaket is located on the basement and there’s washing machine where you can put money to wash your clothes.

Ideally situated within 10 minutes’ walk from the Sea and 15 minutes from Seorak Mountain by car, Casa Seorak is one of the best Bed & Breakfasts in Sokcho run by a friendly English-speaking family. Casa Seorak's amenities include ensuite bathroom & kitchenette, PC(free wifi), LCD TV, DVD & bicycle rental and charcoal barbecue setting. It also offers free pick up & drop off at both Sokcho Bus Terminals and breakfast delivered to your room.
Neatest owners, the most eclectic rooms, a great European breakfast, all at a cost that won't break the bank. The owner speaks excellent English, and it is great for providing information about the area. You can also make arrangements to be picked up if coming in by train or bus.

This hotel has open balconies overlooking the sea. Watching the sun rise is a must if you stay here. Sunrise Park is minutes away and so is the bus stop for Seoraksan. You can walk on the boardwalk all the way to Sokcho beach but it’s quite a walk.

Located just across sokcho express bus terminal, this new hotel was perfect place for transit. Especially people who plan to visit Seoraksan Mountain. The room was tiny so it was not adequate for big luggage. But it was clean & simple. The staff was friendly & helpfull. They also provided luggage storage.

Huge and comfortable room with bathtub. Strong WiFi, nice breakfast. Stayed only one night hence no chance to explore the surrounding. I think most people stayed for the night before going to Mount Seorak.

We were positively surprised as we arrived at the guesthouse. The common area is big, clean and organized. The rooms were simple but tidy and had comfy beds. Be reminded that it's very normal in Korea to find small towels (for western standards) and wet bathrooms (with no glass door for the shower). Having said that, it's a great choice for Sokcho, for location, value and cleanliness. The hosts are also very helpful and breakfast simple, but good enough, with toasts, coffee and cereals. Would definitely stay again.

This place is filthy, public areas never cleaned or sanitized. Rooms tiny with gross carpet. The sheets were clean and the bathroom was clean, the only two saving graces. View was great. I wouldn't recommend this spot but we did enjoy visiting Sokcho.
