Shanklin Beach is a beautiful, carefully tended stretch of sand on the Isle of Wight. Families appreciate the lifeguards, as well as the kids’ play area. And while there’s quite a hill separating the town from the beach, don’t worry—a lift makes it easy to tote all your beach paraphernalia down to the sand.

We had a lovely spacious quiet room at the top of the hotel. Food and water bowls were provided for our dog, Annie and towels at the entrance of the hotel for muddy paws. The breakfast was superb, freshly cooked and Annie enjoyed her specially prepared sausage each morning. The location was ideal, opposite a park for early morning dog walks and very close to Shanklin chine and the village of Shanklin. We would definitely return

Four of us, two couples, have just returned from a holiday in Shanklin Isle of Wight. We travelled with Alfa Travel and stayed at the Shanklin Hotel in adjacent rooms. Our travel was excellent with driver Andy who looked after us superbly. He is a very pleasant man and very knowledgeable about the area we travelled to. He kept us up to date about everything without intruding. Our rooms at the hotel were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and our waitress Julia was lovely making mealtimes a really pleasant time. Even the weather was brilliant for us only one rain shower and this was whilst we were on the coach. A special thank you to the staff at Alfa base for their hard work during the last two years for organising everything in a very professional manner. A lovely holiday with lots of happy memories brought home. Looking forward to the next one now.

Well...what can I say. The family and staff that run this hotel work incredibly hard to keep everything running, and everyone happy. They are welcoming and friendly, and take on board the odd moan from people here and there. Unfortunately, its the cleanliness, and the tired decor of the rooms that really let it down, which is such a shame, as it is in a lovely location. The room I stayed in could have really done with a deep clean. It smelt very musty, the carpets were grubby, big cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and a nice old pair of socks from someone else's last stay shoved down beside the bedside table. Fortunately the only thing that was clean was the sheets on the bed! In the bathroom the shower screen was hanging on the wall by one hinge, and again the bathroom suite had seen better days. It was not a pleasant room to spend any time in. On the plus side! The evening entertainment in the Piano Bar was good, and you certainly will not go hungry, as there is plenty of food on offer, although a little bland, with the carvery being served in the evening. I visited this hotel for a long weekend stay with Just Go holidays. It was a base to sleep and eat. It was hard to switch off regarding the room, as it was very disappointing, but made the most of the great location for exploring Shanklin and Sandown.

A beautiful Boutique Bed & Breakfast ideally situated for short walk to the Old village, beach or town centre. After recent renovations we can now offer our guests a beautiful vintage style bar and tea rooms, with cakes and teas served in traditional bone china tea sets, or relax and enjoy a bottle of wine or cocktail in front of our log burner. Unfortunately we do not accept pets.
The place is located close to the coast and near the city area. The house is nicely decorated in an old style making it even more cosy. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Good service and full breakfast. Everything we needed at a fair price. Worth a visit
