La Gustea, offers distinctly Tuscan flavors, scents, and natural aromas, in an elegant and warm family atmosphere. Everything here is a hymn to taste and harmony; pleasurable dining, an ode to the culinary art. Nadia and Felice welcome you into their home with a charm and hospitality that are unmatched; ring the doorbell, and enjoy their warmth with a welcoming cup of coffee. But there is so much more…La Gustea was born from Nadia and Felice's shared vision: to create a joyous and welcoming home filled with new and exciting flavors and experiences, for everyone who stays with them. The rooms at La Gustea have been decorated with tremendous attention to detail and style to ensure a relaxing stay. Come and experience the ambiance of our saffron rooms with its shades of yellow and violet, or one of the elder rooms with its soothing greens or the blueberry rooms in shades of blue. Felice beautifully complements this experience at the dining table.
The hotel itself is wonderful. It is clean and expertly maintained. Even if I woke up in the afternoon, the cleaning staff always found a way to clean the room. The hoteliers are even more wonderful than the hotel. The Passaretti family made every effort to make my stay the best it could be. Beyond their efficiency, they operated La Gustea with warmth and kindness. The hotel also houses the best restaurant in town (and I ate everywhere in Sarteano) for the best price.

I am extremely disappointed by the poor customer service surrounding the cancellation of our stay at this resort. Rosaria was helpful when it came to our bookings and additional services we were interested in. Unfortunately, COVID caused us to cancel our trip, which resulted in Rosaria becoming non-responsive. We emailed her several times over the last few months to confirm the status of our refund with absolutely no response. We recognize that we are living through unprecedented times but a simple follow up and update would have been nice. We simply needed to find out about our refund. This is unfortunate because it will make me think twice if/when we decide to travel to Italy.

The hotel is a reconstructed farmhouse set in the woods and recently has been completely renovated. On the ground floor, past the reception, one enters the spacious cocktail bar with verandah and panoramic restaurant. On the first and second floor are ten double rooms and four single rooms. Also available ample parking area, tennis court, outdoor bowling alley and a swimming pool with solarium..
We had the pleasure of spending three nights the end of June at this hidden gem. Tucked into a pine forest high above Sarteano, the owner of La Torre Ai Mari, Renato, offers his friendly and efficient hospitality. The rooms are comfortable in the traditional Tuscan style, as is the hotel in general. A large out door terrace, with large pool offers commanding views of the valley below the Lake District, and into Umbria. A great place to sun bath and enjoy a drink. Breakfast was buffet style, with ample offerings and featuring home made pastries. A full service bar and billiard room complete the picture. Not close to town (ten minutes by car) but an easy drive, it's remoteness is it's uniqueness. Renato's friendly guidance, mapping routes through small hill towns and making hard to get restaurant reservations was greatly appreciated us. Well worth a stay if you're looking in the Sarteano area.

In the enchanting scenery of the Tuscan hills, nestled between the green of the Valdichiana Valley and the impressive panorama of the Val d'Orcia, here stands our La Sovana Country Relais. A small corner of paradise in an area of 22 hectares that will offer a peaceful stay. Peace and relaxation a step away from this fascinating ancient history of the places that surround it. Our family, who runs the hotel since 1992, is ready to welcome in the respect of the traditional Tuscan style. In this spectacular setting of these stone houses with wooden beams and terracotta, you can also enjoy local dishes expertly prepared by Giovannella and her staff who choose every day the high-quality materials, with a great care for organic products from our orchard and at zero kilometer
Thank you Giuseppe, family and staff for the great hospitality. Beautiful setting with lots of amenities. Rooms are great with a mix of modern and rustic feel. Nice pool with a view of the vineyards. Food is amazing. Fix menu for dinner. Wine also very good. Resort is close to the main road therefore a very short drive on dirt roads (which is a plus compared to other resorts where you have to drive many km on dirt roads to get there). Close to the highway as well. 30 mins to Montepulciano. 1h45 mins to Rome. Probably good for families but no children when we were there so it was pretty peaceful. We arrived there with no reservation and ended up staying for 5 nights. I think this says it all!

"Le Anfore"is the ideal place for those who love the italian art, culture and its natural beauty as well the accommodation is located in the heart of Italy,in the charming towm of Sarteano which is in the province of Siena, well known for its hot springs and for the joust of Saracino,a traditional event of ancient origins.
This restaurant is situated in a farm that also has a B&B. The restaurant is homely, with delightfully pleasant staff and the food is of very good quality and great value. The cuisine is mostly Tuscan, in a relaxed, comfortably simple setting. The farm produces excellent olive oil which one can buy and this year they have just finished restructuring the wine cellars and created a new, large events and shop area, with plans to have cooking school, wine tasting and other activities planned for next year.

The Hotel "Ai Lecci in Centro" is a magnificent structure of the '50, completely renovated and restored, surrounded by a garden of 4500 sqm, with oak trees and Mediterranean shrubs and a swimming pool with solarium. The villa, in the center of Sarteano, a village of medieval and Renaissance buildings roots, gives the possibility to leave the car with the opportunity to find a wonderful walk through history and cuisine just outside the door...and, if not enough, the "world" at hand...Florence 110 km, Rome 130 km, Perugia 70 km, Siena 60 km and the sea just over an hour going through Montalcino. "Ai Lecci in Centro" genuinely welcomes tourists and travelers in an environment with amazing color wash, light and modern décor, the peace that dwells within its walls. A rich and tasty breakfast, sweet and salty, will wait for our Guests, served during the colder seasons, immersed in a modern room in the "green" and, for the entire period that allows, under the pergola in the garden. The entire renovation is started from the desire to create a 'work that minimized its impact. Here's how: Geothermal Energy: Hot water, heating and air conditioning are provided by the Earth. We had an amazing stay at Bruno's place for 4 nights. Very quiet place in a nice village. Totally isolated : no noises during day and night. Swimming pool is perfect, room was clean, cosy and confortable. Breakfast was homemade and varied. Bruno is a perfect host : careful about his guest, he advices some good restaurants and places to visit. Everything was perfect !

The monumental complex of the ex-convent of Santa Chiara from the order of the Clarisse nuns which was first under construction in the year 1498, was consecrated for religious exercise and destined for the Clarisse order. With this new management, taken over in 1992 by the Morgantini Family, the restructuring and conservative restoring took place in the form of the building's original style with its peculiar architectural environment characteristic, no less accommodating and offering it's guests the opportunity to take pleasure in ancient space and peaceful tranquility. In Chloi's kitchen at the Santa Chiara restaurant you can still eat food with flavours of the past made with local ingredients. You can smell the delicious smell of home-made pasta with truffle or porcini mushrooms, taste Maremma-style wild boar, rabbit with wild fennel and to round off your meal ice-cream pudding with orange and grand marnier liqueur or a delicious dark-chocolate pudding.Particular attention to seasonal products.
Located in the old center of Sarteano, this gem makes the guests feel welcome from the moment you enter. Driving there can be a challenge - especially if you have a larger car -, but the owners offer a pickup/drop off service from the public parking outside the city walls. Rooms are functional and clean, with decorations highlighting the history of the building (it was previously a convento). The garden is wonderful and peaceful and you can have an aperitivo overlooking the Tuscan hills all the way to Lago Trasumeno. Food is superb and cooked by the owners and follow the traditional Italian cuisine. Did I mention that all dishes we had were wonderfully prepared and tasty? Overall, an experience that you don't want to miss!

Il Parco delle Piscine, Sarteano is nestled among the undulating, ancient green hills of Tuscany, home of the ancient civilisation of Etruria. Entirely uncontaminated and enchanting landscape surrounds the campsite, where campers are immersed in an oasis of tranquillity 573 metres above sea level.
Our mobile home was awful, we have stayed in many mobile homes around Europe and this one was by far the worst. It was so outdated, badly designed, smelly and dirty. I may have been able to cope with this if the outside area had been nice but this was a gravel yard. We had an ants nest in one of the children's rooms too just to top it all off! The mobile homes were so close together that out of your bedroom you look into the bedroom of your neighbours and with screaming children either side peace and relaxation was impossible. I managed one night and asked to move .They did accommodate us in a better mobile home for an extra cost which was quite reasonable but overall I can't believe the cost of their accommodation seeing as it is so old and outdated. Some of the mobile homes were cleaner and more modern so be sure to pay a bit extra and get one of these. The pools are lovely and well maintained and a great size but the public pool is busy and the pool for the camp site closes between 1 and 4 for siesta. This severely disrupted our enjoyment of our time there. During this time you are also not allowed to leave the campsite by car. I understand that they are trying to encourage a peaceful atmosphere but again this limits what you can and can't do. My son had wanted to play football on the large pitch but we were told repeatedly by different members of staff that you could only use this if you payed 50 euros. I then asked about other activities and sports tournaments but again nobody seemed to know. It was only on day 5 when I asked again that I was told that their was football matches on the football pitch every day at 4.30 by which point we were at the end of our holiday. Having said all this Sarteano is lovely, the area around the campsite beautiful and the staff worked hard and were very friendly. We did the cooking course which was brilliant and very reasonable too. I did write and complain to the campsite and got a very nice e.mail back apologising for our experience so hopefully they might make some improvements.
