Reviewed By Bill FMy wife and I were part of a group which stayed in this charming small hotel with warm hosts and an inventive chef who prepared a delicious meal for our last night. Our room was spacious, with original beams, shuttered windows and balcony combined with modern bathroom fixtures. We will return!

Geschmackvolles Haus mit gutem Service und excellenter Küche
Reviewed By BrennaborEs handelt sich um ein Anwesen mit drei Gebäuden im Zentrum des kleinen Ortes Sare. Der ursprüngliche Charme der alten Gebäude wurde weitestgehend erhalten. Viel Holz, antike Möbel und geschmackvolle Einrichtung mit Liebe zum Detail. Das Bad war sehr modern und hervorragend ausgestattet. Vom Zimmer ins Bad kam einer Zeitreise gleich. Auch wenn das Zimmer etwas altmodisch aussah, das Bett hatte eine perfekte Matraze, auf der es sich wunderbar schlief. Ich hatte Halbpension und es gab ein Abendmenu mit drei bis vier Auswahlmöglichkeiten pro Gang (vier). Das Essen war sehr gut, perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt und eine wahre Freude. Die Weinkarte ist ebenfalls gut bestückt, so dass kaum Wünsche offen blieben. Das Personal war zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und freundlich, ohne aufdringlich zu werden. Eine echte Empfehlung, wenn man sich in der Gegend um Hendaye, Bayonne, Saint-Jean-de-Luz aufhalten sollte.

Reviewed By Ambarish KWe stayed for 2 nights beginning of June 2016, idyllic location, very peaceful with no disturbances. Fantastic mountain views with lots of country walks right from the house. You expect, and we got, very clean rooms, ample hot water, good storage, tasty fresh breakfast and privacy. However, at Maison Arextola, one got a whole lot more --- a heated swimming pool, an outdoor hot tub ready for use at any time. The accommodation was decorated and coordinated to a very high standard, bathroom fitted with bath and separate shower and double wash hand basins. The lady of the house, Trine was very friendly and helpful (provided mobile phone charger and light evening snack because of late arrival). Definitely recommend a stay - home away from home and we will return....

Reviewed By Martin GThe title says it, really. Sare was recommended to us at St Jean de Luz Tourist Info. A good call. Lovely little Basque town in hills / mountain foothills, depending on your perspective. The owner was interesting - a motor enthusiast, both cars and bikes, with a leaning to old British brands. Tremendous views from our room, again.

La Propriétaire est très accueillante, souriante, discrète et surtout ce que nous retiendrons, un excellent PDJ, copieux, de bonne qualité digne d'un 3 étoiles et plus pour affronter la journée.
