+ The hosts (Gonçalo and Noémie) are really nice. Very helpful, kind, open-minded, accommodating ! + Possibility to visit several rooms before chosing the one we want. It's very rare to get this opportunity and it shows the transparency of the hosts. + Breakfast diversifed: ham, sausage, cheese, eggs, cereals, cakes, fruits, juices, tea, coffee, .... + The hosts can act as a taxi at a price that can't be beaten by regular taxi. This could save you a lot from regular taxi or from renting a car. This island is small enough to do everything by taxi, bus and by foot. + Free Wifi obviously - This may be seen as a detail but lighting in the parking lot is insuffisant especially at night. - Also this would be great to add a ventilation system in the rooms of the 3rd house to avoid fog in the bathroom and humidity in the bedroom.

What can we say about Sara Village... other than we came as guests and left ad friends. Miguel (the owner) is a great Guy with lots of stories and knowledge about the island. The rooms are very pretty and we had everything that we needed. The breakfast is nice and you can make your own dinner (if you want), wash clothes, ... It felt at home! Thank you Miguel and Carla. You guys were so nice! Big hug

Lovely old building, the courtyard / cloisters give it real character. Bit drafty because of the style of the building, and I imagine when it´s busier it could be a bit noisy (it was built for quiet monks!), but I slept really well in my 2 nights there. Staff were low profile but really nice and friendly if you needed them for anything. The hostel was clean, provided the usual Azorean hostel breakfast, and had free wifi in the tv/living room (not in the bedrooms). I got the bus from the airport, the bus stop is just 5 mins walk from the hostel. The bus to the sirport and Madalena only runs twice a day in each direction, though the times were fairly convenient for my needs. Overall, a good value place to stay for a solo traveller.

We want guests to feel at home. The Earth, Sea and Fire trilogy has always constrained the life of the Azoreans and particularly that of the islanders from Pico. Earth because it resulted from the effort of the settlers and their descendants who cleared it, making their daily bread to arise from the rock. The Sea, the wide Atlantic Ocean, full of mystery, is always present, and it both unites and separates us.Fire, father of the islands that arose from inside the Earth, is the heartbeat of the planet and a test to the people’s perseverance and determination. Casa do Ouvidor honours this trilogy by naming its three accommodation units after these elements. In green areas, the garden provides separate living areas, where different groups can coexist with some privacy, without however compromising the exceptional landscape that observes the House and garden. We spent four days in Casa do Ouvidor. Everything was perfect. It is a perfect place for a group of friends or a family. Spacious villa with two bedrooms and a living room. A pool and a jacuzzi are available for the guests.

Could not have been more pleased or surprised with our stay here. Hidden gem on the beautiful island of Pico. Less than 20 min drive from the airport and great location for exploring the island. Beautifully appointed cabins with resort style amenities and touches. Huge thank you to Diana for helping with navigation and recommendations. For what you get is very well priced; hope to return for another visit!

We cannot agree more with the last two google reviews. This accomodation was the worst we have been too in a long time. And in the last month we visited a lot of places on the Azores. Normally we try to stay positive, but that is not possible here. The worst thing was the communication. Only e mail. We did not even know their names. We tried to call them in the morning (3x), since there was no breakfast as promised left in a basket, but no response. Besides that, the whole place was dirty, there was an old matras in the backyard - nice view from our terrace ;). The pool area and pool itself dirty. Everywhere you can find some garbage or broken things. It was so bad that we left the place two days earlier than planned - so good news for us: the other mornings we had breakfast :p. Too bad that the owners do not make something out of the beautiful location and don't even care about their visitors. We definitely do not recommend this place.

I picked this place as it was a short walk from the dive centre where I'd be spending most of my time here. The actual room is very nice, 2 single beds, nice and comfy, a desk and chair, huge built-in wardrobe, and a huge shared ablution room across the hall (you'll need to run the shower for a fair while to get hot water). The view was more to the side but, really, quite unimportant for me. Downstairs there's a huge communal space with tv, table, chairs, sofas, a wee kettle, cups and saucers, etc, and there's wifi all over, including the room. Sadly, no coffee, nowhere close by to get one, and even the tea tray was almost bare bar a few herbal infusions. Next door there is a sort of restaurant, which is reservation only and not open for breakfast, as well as an ethnographic museum. It is a bit of a hike from the central area but it is nice and quiet and the hosts are really nice too.

A wonderful place to stay on Pico. The views from the terrace are stunning and the area is nice and quiet. The house was really well equipped and was a lovely place to come back to after busy days around the island. Raquel was incredibly helpful with ideas, answering questions and even dropping off bread in the mornings. Thoroughly recommend ?
