In need of a place to crash, discovered a hidden jewel
Reviewed By MichaelJPdeJongTravelling back from a business week in CZ, after leaving Prague to late ;), we found this pub annex guesthouse. Fell in love at the doorstep. Great authentic pub with over 100 different whiskeys and a bed close by. We were really tired at first but that didn't last long. Really nice staff makes you feel welcome. Will remember for next trips, then we can plan it better

An overnight stay
Reviewed By Ian CSangerhausen was our stopping point after a long days drive from eastern Slovakia. We found the Rosen Hotel through asking locals where we could find a hotel. It was precisely what we were looking for. Central, adequate parking, inexpensive, a clean comfortable room and pleasant, efficient staff. With breakfast the cost was 67.20 euros. It also had a restaurant where we bought a well prepared dinner. I can recommend the pork fillet cooked in smokey bacon! Delicious! So, for the traveller it is an ideal hotel for a stopover. I must add, however, that the view from our window was nothing to shout about - I think it was a supermarket for building materials! So what? We didn`t stop at the Rosen for the view!

Reviewed By andrew tAn ancient building in a town setting,,wonderfully restored and a fantastic place to stay ! Our room was enormous and even had a converted garderobe as an extra seating area. Meals were good and taken in the atmospheric cellar. We loved it !

Good and comfortable stopover
Reviewed By Rob684Tripadvisor does not allow a rating 'good', therefore I selected 'average'. Plusses: Very friendly and helpful welcome by owner. He went out of his way to assist us (and he was funny at the same time). We could choose between ground floor and upstairs and took the ground floor room. Room a bit small but comfortable enough. Of course very clean and well maintained (German Sauberkeit). Small beer garden where you can also eat. Food was excellent in taste and quality, however not too big a choice, it was mainly Schnitzel (which I happen to enjoy very much). Quiet location (the outhouse). Breakfast was extensive and excellent! Minusses: Bathroom (shower) very small. You cannot bend over to the hand wash basin (for brushing teeth) without bumping your backside against the door. The beer garden was rather confined, little view but maybe that's on purpose (i.e. you cannot be seen from the outside). Not a big issue, but Sangerhausen town centre seemed a bit a 'dead' place. Not many restaurants to choose from, at least not at a walking distance from our place. Price is a bit too high.

Klein, aber fein!
Reviewed By Mathilde SWir hatten ein Doppelzimmer im Pensionstrakt des kleinen Hotels. Dort sind die Zimmer kleiner als im Hotel, aber für zwei Nächte war es okay. Die Zimmer sind einfach, die Betten waren bequem, rundherum ist es sehr ruhig (Wohngebiet) und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Das Bad hatte ein Fenster und eine flache Dusche, die Größe war vollkommen ausreichend. Einzig die ausgefransten Handtücher störten den positiven Gesamteindruck etwas. Das Frühstück war überdurchschnittlich gut, leckere Brötchen, große Auswahl an Käse und Wurst, hart- und weichgekochte Eier, frisches Rührei und viele Sorten von selbst gemachter Marmelade, dazu Kirschen aus dem Garten. Das Hotel liegt gut 100 Meter vom Haupteingang des Rosariums entfernt und man läuft ca. 15 Minuten in die Innenstadt von Sangerhausen. Die beiden Besitzerinnen waren sehr freundlich und kümmerten sich persönlich um alles, als wäre man ein guter Freund. Das gibt es nur noch selten.

prima voor een nachtje
Reviewed By D TPension op rustige locatie. Prima voor een nachtje. Verhouding van wat je geboden krijgt in verhouding met prijs goed. Prima ontbijt met lekkere koffie. Op onze kamer had de douchekop had wel vervangen mogen zijn, haar wassen was nl niet mogelijk. Geen fatsoenlijke straal. Wel even bellen als je later dan zes incheckt ondanks dat dit nergens wordt aangegeven.

Reviewed By Mike PI have been using this hotel during a company trip. We reserved almost all rooms because this was the only hotel in Sangerhausen which had sufficient rooms available. The hotel is a bit outdated although this is still common in this part of Germany. The hotel as well as the room is clean. breakfast is simple. Fine to use when traveling and for a night.

Reviewed By Galliano16Wir hatten 3er Zimmer, sie waren Sauber und Geräumig, das Personal etwas zurückhaltend, aber sehr freundlich. Die Pension liegt zwar an der Hauptstraße, die Gegend ist jedoch sehr ruhig. Das Frühstücksangebot war gut, die Einrichtung des Speiseraums allerdings sehr alt, der ausgelutschte Teppichboden ist kein schöner Anblick und gehört eigentlich dringend gewechselt. Auch die Mini-Röhrenfernseher in den Zimmern sind längst nicht mehr "Stand der Technik".

Reviewed By Liza7006We booked a room on the website of booking. We got a mail around 8.40 that we were expected at the hotel before 9. We were at the hotel at 8.50. Eveything was dark, no cars were parked, there was a signe that the hotel was closed. We searched another hotel in the neighbourhoud, cancelled the reservation because it was obviously a mistake on the website. We got a mail that the money would not be returned? Next day we went to the hotel. They insured us that they didn't get the money and we should call booking for the money. So we did, booking called to te the hotel. But the hotel changed its mind, and wouldn't gave the money back.

Gerade noch befriedigend
Reviewed By 1profiWir haben hier eine Nacht verbracht. Die Buchung via Telefon war unkompliziert. Der Empfang durch die junge Mitarbeiterin war freundlich. Leider hat das Haus seine besten Zeiten schon lange hinter sich. Der Geruch im Hausflur ist abgestanden, zum Glück waren die Zimmer diesbezüglich einwandfrei. Die Zimmer waren abgewohnt, aber sauber. Das Bett frisch bezogen und auch das Bad in Ordnung. Seife o.ä. nicht vorhanden. Das Zimmer nach hinten raus war sehr ruhig und wir haben trotz weicher Matratze gut geschlafen. Das Frühstück war reichlich und in Ordnung. Wurst und Käse auf einer Platte und abgepackte Marmelade. Ein Ei und frisch aufgebackene Brötchen gab es auch. Es war jetzt nicht ganz schlecht, aber für den Preis haben wir auch schon deutlich besser gewohnt. Leider ist der gesamte Landkreis dort von der Entwicklung infrastrukturell abgeschnitten. Wanderwege könnten besser markiert werden und die touristische Attraktivität erhöht werden, dann würde es sich auch lohnen, in dieses Hotel wieder Geld zu investieren. Schade !
