In the extreme southern edge of Cilento National Park, overlooking the Gulf of Policastro, between Scario and Maratea, a simple and pleasant structure offers hospitality to whom wants to spend moments of serenity away from the frenetic rhythms.
I write this review whilst waiting for our plane to depart back to London after spending 5 nights at this hotel with my girlfriend. I was set the task by my other half to find a hotel with a pool and a balcony overlooking the coast, but with a tight budget... I came across this hotel and the pictures sold it for me, however I was a little sceptical because photos often look better than the real thing. I was wrong, the hotel and the surroundings are wonderful. The hotel is clean, airy and modern. The staff were all very friendly and more than willing to assist at any given opportunity. The breakfast (included) was fantastic with a selection of homemade cakes and other pastries. After eating the world's biggest croissant I often went up for seconds which consisted of fresh local meats and cheeses. The bedroom (room 5 - sea view with balcony) was clean and modern too. A large king size bed with a comfy mattress and cushions were a welcoming sight at the end of a long day laying by the pool... The balcony was big with 2 seats and a table overlooking the coast in the near distance. The photos don't give the balcony justice in my opinion. The pool was a nice size with plenty of sun loungers, and it was very clean throughout our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid the Amalfi Coast and come here instead!

Paradise in Cilento. Our comfortable hotel is located in the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, in a park with trees, flowers and birds, a small river on one side and a large rocky mountain behind it. Our guests can relax in nature or play table tennis, billiards and much more. You can get around by bike or hiking. We are 5 minutes from the sea and the lights Scario's center.
We had an amazing stay at Verdeblu! The location is excellent, close to the ocean and Cilento National park. The property is beautiful and well maintained, with a lot of outdoor space to spread out and plenty of facilities and activities on the premises, such as an outdoor bar area and pool table. There are lots of patio tables outside and a pretty little creek running behind the house. The rooms are very comfortable and modern, ours opened to a little private terrace. There is also a private house available with an outdoor BBQ and private patio. The overall feel was very relaxed and laid back. The owners are very kind and made excellent local cuisine, and even sat down to have dinner and talk with us each night. They were even so kind as to give us some lemons from their orchard and send us home with a recipe to make our own limoncello! Cilento national park is amazing, with several hiking trails that the owners can direct you to. We went for a beautiful hike in the mountains, only a short drive from the property. We cannot wait to go back in the summer to scuba dive or fish on their boat! I cannot recommend Verdeblu enough. It is the perfect Italian vacation in a beautiful location. The price is very economical. I recommend doing the half board because the food is outstanding!

The location is somewhat remote but still close enough to multiple beaches to serve as a base point. Pluses are that owners are very kind; and the swimming pool is very beautiful. The setting is peaceful and quiet in the hills with olive trees with views of mountains and sea. Minuses are that there is no WiFi connection in the rooms that are not above the restaurant; and the breakfast offering is minimal. Other than that, it is serene.

An enchanted place where time stops to listen to the sound of Nature. A fragment of 'Created', carefully cultivated with respect for the environment and preserved to be offered for enjoyment to the beauty lovers.
Most beautiful and peaceful place. The continental breakfast is extraordinary. The rooms are nicely decorated. The more than 1000 years-old olive trees are creating a very special atmosphere. One can relax in the garden or on the terrace. Rocco and his team are very aware of their guess' needs: helpful and respectful. There is no lack of anything. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Hidden in a sea of tranquility, we've had the absolute pleasure of staying at il Rifugio. Cesare and Isabelle are incredible hosts, they really cater to your every need, in a manner of which you'd think it wouldn't exist anymore these days. The hosts (especially Isabella's mother!) make the most delicious meals you've had in ages. In our company, we have some food intolerance issues, but with the local, high quality food they serve, everyone could enjoy a gastronomic trip. Not to mention the beautiful children and awesome dogs that make every little moment just so lovely. Yes, the scenery is breath taking and yes, the area of Cilento is amazing, but we would argue that this is not the best thing about Il Rifugio. Thank you Cesare and Isabella!

We have recently stayed at this place, mainly driven by the reviews and by availability around this beautiful area. The place is very quiet, if your goal is to disconnect and relax this might be the place, there is no entertainment at all. The breakfast is very good with local product's and most of them handmaid at the moment. We stayed on a back room called "sposi" that was clean, with AC, no TV and no window, besides the fact that was protected with net against "mosquitos" at the door we had a good fight against them before following asleep. If you plan to stay here make sure you get a nice 1st floor room with the amazing views everyone is mentioning on the reviews. If you plan to use as beach base it might be a bit far from the shore.
