I would actually rate this 3.5 out of 5, so "good" but I think it only fair to explain the why. The resort itself is a little run down but the owner is making efforts to improve the situation. The standout facilities are without a doubt the swimming pool, the hillside accommodation and the staff. There are even better rooms if you want to stay closer to the beach. We found the location a bit remote, which would be fine if you have your own transport but it is problematic if you have to rely on tricycles or the facility's minibus. We found the presence of chained up and locked up creatures a bit bothersome. Hornbills, peacocks, Minah, parakeets, monkey, python and dogs. Some dogs and cats and chickens had free reign but really imprisoned animals in this day and age is disappointing to find. The food was a bit variable, some meals were superb, others a bit mediocre. It was disappointing to find the fruit options a bit limiting (pineapple, mango and melon) where was the papaya the pomelo and bananas? It was disappointing that fresh whole fish or local oysters, prawns etc was off the cards too. The staff are very friendly but they have a limited repertoire of things that they can and cannot do and many of the amenities like poolside bar, a functioning bar at the beach, all were non existent. Staff it seems had to traipse all the way to and from some control area in order to prepare or collect anything. There was a bit too much detritus on the property too, with some buildings in a deteriorating state and quite a lot of compostable stuff piled up in various corners - quite unsightly. The beach and jetty is a bit sub par. Bare metal spikes protrude from portions of the jetty and clutter of gearboxes or engines and boxes and cans are all over the place accompanied with some of the buildings visibly in need of new woodwork. It would be lovely to have a meal out here but that's just not practical. The beach is cluttered with boats and basically unswimmable because of this. The beach is also only semi private, neighboring pearl fishermen persistently tout their wares. Overall we stayed for several nights booking through Agoda and paying around £50 a night for accommodation with its own comfort room and shower which were detached from the sleeping area, we had pretty good sleep with a noisy a/c through the night and only waking at sunrise to the cacophony of the peacocks and the hornbill. Communication up until our arrival was good with most exchanges by email and Facebook messenger. Our steward/butler did his best - ArJan to accommodate our requests, though it seems making up the room was by his own words not part of his brief. Great views from our room, relatively low occupancy, meaning almost exclusive access to the pool and a sedentary time meant we were super chilled. Internet access was tricky, mobile data coverage is poor and though there is WiFi all over, it isn't particularly fast or reliable, accordingly manage your expectations. We've stayed in similar accommodation before and this is ok for the price but perhaps on the higher end for the region. Food could be better but as I said, the owner is working on upgrades all over the place, new steps and railings are in progress and the accommodation will no doubt get more attention as required. We would stay again but would need to see evidence of some improvements that would bring the property back to pre pandemic levels. If you're not too fussy you WILL have a good time.

We are only planning to stay for 2 nights. Just to get some rest after our day-tour in Samal. But we love the place, so we extend for 1 more night. The staffs and owners are accommodating. They always ask what we need and suggest where are the best places to explore in Samal. They let us use their kitchen without additional charge.

Worst Resort Policy and Worst guest-service skill. Do yoirself a favor, STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!

Reviewed By jcpiedad

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT! I would definitely insist that you stay away from this resort! Prisoners are way better treated than here! Poor staff/recpetionist training, surprisngly, agency guards are more guest-oriented than their regular staff, worst decision making from their reception staff! You should put these courteous and educated agency guards as a replacement, they have more knowledge and skills on handling guests and are considerate. What a shame! lf you stay and paid for a room, this resort will not let you bring in even a small food or drinks SO they can oblidge you to purchase from their restaurant- which is 5x the normal price. TOTAL RIP-OFF! If you want to experience the WORST guest-service and the WORST resort policy, YOU SHOULD DEFINITLEY STAY IN THIS RESORT! Highly NOT recommended.

Book here because of the good reviews i’ve read but our experience was quiet the opposite. They arrive almost an hour late for the pick up schedule. Not even a phone call to inform us their whereabouts. We decided to cancel our stay and the refund took a month which i paid cash. Very inconsiderate.

Lorelei Beach Resort

Nicely Secluded...

Reviewed By Candice M

I love this resort. We were the only one booked in during this time, so we had the resort to ourselves. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day so we didn't get to stay by the beach. The room was really nice and spacious which was good to stay in. The staff prepared an excellent lunch for us with a splendid view. They were very accommodating and kind. I think they do need to work on maintaining their beach front though so that it could be swimmable. Although, the time we went there was raining a lot and trash from the mainland may have been brought to shore. Not really the resort's fault. All in all it was a pleasant stay. Thank you Lorelei.

Super Resort

Beide Daumen hoch!!!

Bali Bali Beach Resort

I just wanted to wake from the nightmare

Reviewed By caryho59

The pictures on the internet look beautiful. At first glance on arrival, it appears so too. Then we're shown our rooms and basically dumped there. Here's your key your room is there, figure it out. First thing I discover is the kitchen sink gives only a trickle of water, and the basin is horridly dirty. As you look around you see lots of dirt and stains, certainly not what one would expect at the prices they charge. You can see it was once beautiful, but lack of proper cleaning and repair gives the rooms a sorry appearance. TV is too small for the room, but that's ok. the antenna broke off so its not working anyway. There is no Wi-Fi here, and our cell signal barely comes in only if you search locations around the resort with a slight signal. We have three rooms rented, all are in disrepair and dirty. We ordered lunch which took near 2 hours to be made. It certainly wasn't for the portion size or flavor, as the portions were minimal at best and the flavor very ordinary. Took our afternoon naps to wait out the strong sun and looking forward to swimming. The pool was getting cleaned up when we arrived, and wasn't too bad when we went swimming. Again you see the disrepair around the pool, broken cement and tiles. I'm not sure if some of the pool tiles were stained or just not cleaned, but again it gave off a shabby feel, like we're staying at a cut rate resort, not one charging over P7,000 per night. But the water was nice and we had fun. We wanted to use the beach also, but it was extremely dirty and we didn't feel comfortable there. Around 4:00PM ordered dinner and scheduled it for 7:00 PM. I was really looking forward to this, as they had USA ribeye steaks, which I verified they had available. At 7:00 we were notified dinner was ready. Upon arrival at our table nothing we ordered was waiting, things we hadn't even ordered were there instead. We were then told our order was canceled on the excuse the cook mistook the day and made the buffet meal scheduled for the next day. But that made zero sense as the buffet we were aware of was grilled food, and none of the food before us was grilled. They had no answer when we asked about that. So seven at night and its eat what's here or go hungry. Afterwards everyone in our group is feeling really bad about shabby and dirty rooms, poor service, and zero internet for our phones. But the entire dinner fiasco, who in the service business would ever cancel someone's order, and substitute a completely different meal without even asking? We could have gone out to eat had we wanted to, but they canceled our meal, and surprised us without any notice! In the morning the decision was made to check out. This would mean no holiday resort for holy week, as everything is booked up, but we just felt very uncomfortable staying. We had paid P33,000 upon booking, half the expected room charge) and understood we would get no refund, but imagine our surprise when they said we needed to pay for all three days. The owner had the nerve to try to insult me by saying what's the matter, I couldn't afford to pay? Why would I pay money for services not rendered? He even had the nerve to say he'd have us thrown in jail. Well we called the police, they called the police and eventually the police came. They refused to come down to the station to make a report, begging to settle it there. We felt trapped and kidnapped by this point and agreed to give them 10,000 more, but nothing more. We just wanted the nightmare to end. I should point out that nowhere in paper, text or voice was there ever a statement made that we would have to stay the full 3 nights or pay for them anyway. As we were leaving we start hearing the owner's wife shouting that we need to sign an agreement not to say anything. Well then it needed to be their wallets out not ours. This trip was a nightmare! the place could be wonderful but the management has let it fall apart and treats guests like chattel to be used. I'm only uploading a few photos of the dirt and broken items, there are many more, but you get the point.
