My hubby and his paratrooper friends found this place last year when they participated in parachuting into different locations for the 74th Anniversary of DDay. Dimitri made it so they WANTED to return to this B&B with families! Well, new ownership - and totally different experience! Brigitte is new proprietor and she was not accommodating! We get it - this year was exceptionally busy due to being the 75th Anniversary- but what transpired was not acceptable! She overcharged and was NOT helpful! My husband and his friends missed a jump they were scheduled to partake in due to horrendous parking situation that she could not and did not fix!!! (Last year, all guests put their keys in a bowl and if vehicles needed to be moved so you could leave/park - anyone on the grounds could make things happen) This year - Brigette had a large travel trailer parked in the small lot - on top of other guests - thus blocking people in! It was a mess! We tried for an hour and a half to find the owners of the vehicle and different ways to move cars so they could get to the jump - but it was no use! It was awful! My family was on the 3rd floor - and we NEVER in the 3 days we were there - had a warm shower! Despite the time of day - all we could get was cold showers! It was AWFUL! All my hubby wanted after one of his jumps was a warm shower - and all he got was the cold shower - not even lukewarm! Add to that - the toilet kept dripping all night long... Let’s talk breakfast... My hubby couldn’t partake due to early morning report times for his scheduled jump - but I brought my 3 kids down one morning at 8:35. The proprietor saw us and walked away. There were no cups, croissants, coffee - NOTHING! After waiting 10 min, I went to look for her! She came back and said she was out of everything - except for the piece of toast and two cups of applesauce and one cup of yogurt. She was very dismissive - especially when she saw the kids (teens). She would not even look at me or talk to me - just the one gal in our party of 8. Overall - the location cannot be beat! That was exceptional! It was loud and crazy - but that was to be expected. What we didn’t expect was the awful customer no-service! My hubby kept saying how last year was different with Dimitri in charge - and I believe him! He said he was very accommodating and helpful. This year - the proprietor seemed annoyed we were there - and she seemed overwhelmed with running this AND her restaurant across the square. She was not helpful and then accused us of not paying her enough when she was advanced money 6 months prior! We want to return to the area - but if she still runs this place - we will find another place. Do not recommend due to proprietor!

Le Manoir de Juganville

What about discovering le Cotentin in Normandy? Our XVI century Manor House is an excellent base from which to explore the attractions of the area. It’s within easy – driving distance of the D.Day Landing Beaches, Bayeux and Le Mont St Michel. Our Manor is nestled in a very quiet country setting surrounded by gardens where you can relax on a summer evening. Our rooms have been decorated to create an intimate atmosphere: refined but relaxed, combining charm and comfort.

Just about perfect

As the previous review said, this is truly a wonderful place to stay. The house is beautiful, as is the garden and Sebastien and Clothilde are delightful hosts. Our room, Baldaquin was beautiful with quality linen and towels changed daily (even though we said not to bother for a 2 night stay!). Unfortunately dinner was not available but breakfast was fresh, plentiful and homemade. Sebastien cooked eggs in whatever manner was requested. I would thoroughly recommend the manoir if on a visit to this part of Normandy.

If you're in this area for the history, as most people are, then there is no better place to stay. If you're looking for Ritz Carlton type accommodations then look elsewhere. This place has so much history attached to it it gave me goose bumps. The property was basically ground zero on June 6th 1944 when the 82nd Airborne parachuted in to kick off the D Day invasion. The owner, Yves Poisson, is a walking encyclopedia for the events that occurred here. The property is a shrine to the 82nd Airborne. Many of the survivors have stayed here and the rooms are named after some of them. There is a monument right across the street honoring them. Three medals of honor were awarded for battles that took place on this property. What more could you possibly want from a stay here? To give this property a bad review, as someone did, for poor wifi and threadbare towels is baffling to me. The owners were so gracious and helpful we actually gave them a gift on our departure. It was an experience of a lifetime. We will never forget it.

This review is two years late but our family cannot stop thinking and talking about it. I have never written a review in all my travels but I have to write one on this bed and breakfast. We were a family of four and stayed here for our Normandy battlefield tour. Rene is the best host and tour guide that you can ask for. He is extremely knowledgeable about the D-Day Invasion and WWII. He made us feel so at home and while our trip was over Easter, Renee bought chocolate rabbits and had them at our spots for Easter morning breakfast. Following the best tour that he led that we have been on, we enjoyed a quaint happy hour at his home discussing WWII and watching Band of Brothers following a wonderful homemade desert. We can not recommend this place enough!!!! Bottom line, Stay Here if visiting Normandy!
