The rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and welcoming. Breakfast in the courtyard is a treat and the sea view from the balcony is stunning. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed here for four nights with my son (13) in an Elegance room, which had a terrace leading onto the heated swimming pool. Hotel grounds are beautifully arranged with Jacuzzi under the palm trees just in front of the sea. There are some restaurants nearby but having a car is handy. Train station nearby for easy day trip to Nice. Very special place.

Saint Raphael is a lively and charming town situated between Cannes and Saint Tropez, on the Mediterranean coastline, with a nice sandy beach, port lined with pretty cafes and restaurants and a bustling center with shops and bars. The family run Hotel Excelsior enjoys an excellent situation on the sea front promenade, beside the Casino and a stone-throw from the sandy beach. It is an ideal base from which to explore Provence by car or by the excellent train system which runs through Saint Raphael.

Reviewed By lamao668What can I say about this hotel?? Booked there by mistake then decided to go anyways, it was the best decision of the month! First of all I have to say that the hotel needs a severe make over to give it its full worth. Really old lobby and rooms that may be a set back for clients. But in all honesty this is the only negative thing I found to say. I have to say that true it’s old but it’s very clean (rooms and common areas). The hotel is situated literally across the street from beautiful private and public beaches. One can’t find any better location. The amazing warm welcome and assistance we got from the ladies at the front desk will make you come back for more. And if this is not enough, the restaurant (terrasse) will delight clients in the morning during breakfast but also at lunch and dinner. Word of the wise, book and go you will not regret it!

Reviewed By ianuk2022Why would you stay anywhere else, The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are all well equipped the staff are all genuinely friendly and nothing is too much for them. The hotel is in a great location close to beach the town and the railway station.

The host was more then nice to us, really helpful, he gave us all the information we needed and the breakfast was very tasty (nice variety of English marmalade). This area, noticed at the end of the last century by Lord Ashcomb impressed by the mild climate and majesty of umbrella pines, was built on the heights of Saint Raphael. In family, in couple or for the work, stay at the Hotel - Restaurant San Pedro (april to october) where everything is designed to have a quiet stay ... You can enjoy a relaxing time in the sauna at the edge of the pool or in the outdoor Jacuzzi (from may to october).

Reviewed By MMBBBradfordWe booked this hotel as a last minute break for 5 nights, we upgraded the room to have a terraced for not much more money. Glad we did as we were just round the corner from the swimming pool and restaurant. The hotel is one of the best three star hotels we’ve stayed in. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, spacious and clean and had a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The hotel had a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi. We were on a room only basis so for the first 3 nights were ate out, however on the 4th evening the hotel restaurant were doing a wine tasting evening so we decided to do that. We wished we had tried the restaurant sooner as the service and food was amazing and thought very reasonably priced, so much we went back for our final nights evening meal the next day. Would definitely recommend both the hotel and restaurant and will hopefully be back.

Reviewed By XavierPetryideal hotel if you're travelling by train OR by car. Monoprix supermarket around the corner, breakfast was sensibly-priced. Lot of restaurants around. Due to central location it's not quiet if the windows are open but there's an AC if feeling cold/warm etc. House doesn't look spectacular from the outside but the rooms are refurbished, clean and nice. In a nutshell: Good value for the rate! Consider to put your car in the Bonaparte-Parking lot, easier to park (day price 14€, max. 10min walking), don't take the closer one if you're not driving a motorbike or tiny car.

Reviewed By apeete784753the room and bathroom are very small and breakfast was every day the same without fresh fruit , no parking for the car, we payed a lot for parking our car during the 12 days we stayed at the Hotel Provençal !
