Reviewed By allisonz645We stayed here for 2 nights during a work/leisure trip with my hubby. It’s so clean, modern, with lots of space to lounge, relax. We used the sauna 2x and cannot say enough!! A true European sauna experience, kicked all my jet lag! Ate at the hotel for breakfast and throughly enjoyed the food! Espresso machine, juicer to make your own fresh juice, pastries, I could go on! Very accessible to the “main part” of town, walkable by a few minutes. I would stay here again and again!!

A Winter Wonderland

The couple that manage this property - Norbert and Agnes are truly wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble. On our first evening we had booked a restaurant nearby and were a bit apprehensive to drive there in the snow, Norbert offered to drive us and collect us. There is a very welcoming bar area, really homely and charming. Our room (recently refurbished) was exceptional and so comfy with fantastic views of the mountains. There is a swimming pool and sauna to relax in after a days skiing. The skiing in the area is fantastic and extensive (car needed to visit the slopes). The hotel also has a ski and boot storage area (heated). To sum up - a lovely place to stay and a wonderful welcome. The couple that manage here make this the place it is! We didn’t want to leave!

Reviewed By pengemexVery scenic location, you can see waterfalls from your balcony. Huge reception area with comfortable sofas. Nice bar. Bowling place, tabletennis, squash, billiard, golf, soccer, tennis, gokarts, etc. Very nice big restaurant, traditional atmosphere - a little too fancy meals. Breakfast has many options, good quality. Very nice pool area. A small hot water pool would be nice. Every area is very clean. My only concern was that guests not keeping legal or social health requirements (do not cough into air in a crowded breakfast room, do not smoke next to small children, do not touch common equipments after coughing in your hand, etc) are not warned by personnel. I know it is uncomfortable, but then maybe some signs would help.) Super friendly, helpful and polite staff, very well managed hotel, congratulations.

The breakfast buffet includes a vast variety of regional products as well as home-made traditional delicacies. Subtle egg dishes and pastries may be ordered from the breakfast menu. For perfect relaxation we offer a big recreation area over two floors including a Finish sauna, vapour baths, infrared cabin and a bio-sauna-gondola on the rooftop terrace with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The chic, quiet relaxtion room is equipped with a coffee and tea bar, fresh revitalising "Grander" water and apple basket. Pre season ski area reconnaissance
Reviewed By Andrew EEventually stayed three nights. Hotel excellent, staff great. As our visit was just before the commencement of the ski season , pricing was very reasonable. Location right in the heart of old Saalfelden with bars and restaurants a stone’s throw away. Also only ten minutes from Maria Alm and Leogang ski centres ,in either direction. Really enjoyable stay in a lovely renvated hotel, beautifully furnished and a great atmosphere with bar and restaurant attached. Bit of a nuisance having to park in public car park. Overall, thoroughly recommend this hotel for reasonably priced luxury and fantastic location with access to some of the most beautiful ski regions in the Alps especially with the Hochkönig mountain looming over you.

When I was searching for a hotel, I was looking for a place where I could relax by a pool, enjoy walks in the mountains, delight in eating good food and shake off the stress I accumulated through hard work. Well, I found it all here! There was a choice as to whether I wanted to swim out of the sun in the indoor pool or relax under a tree with a good book and swim in the outdoor pool. (I did both!) I discovered a dirt road by a river, which allowed for a morning leisurely walk between the mountains, in the fresh of the day... I also did more strenuous trekking, with a group led by the owner of the hotel, who had told us that the trekking would not be hard but when we arrived at the top, I thought my soul would leave my body! Great, great fun!!!! What made it extraordinary was the food! WoW!!!! It was absolutely amazing; Michelin star quality! I was getting a personalised menu, with the food on the right hand side and the recommended white and red wines on the left. Every time I chose the wines recommended (which was every evening) I found that they married perfectly with the food I was eating. But the cherry on the top was the morning coffee!!! It was just perfect; not too strong, not too weak and the flavour just delicious! I had a great time there and I thoroughly recommend the hotel!

Wonderful views and a nice apartment
Reviewed By Unelma333We have spent 3 nights at the smaller apartment, which had a bathroom and a small kitchen. There is also a larger apartment with similar amenities, the other rooms have shared bathrooms only. I'd personally always take the apartment. It was great value for money, we had a very nice room and a wonderful large bathroom for a very reasonable price. The view from the window was just amazing with the mountains around and the valley below. The owners are wonderful people, very friendly. We haven't eaten at the restaurant, but it seemed to have a great atmosphere, real Austrian stuff. Of course the guesthouse is at the top of a hill, so that is something to take into consideration before booking. If you like, you can rent a sled for 2,50 and just glide down. Many people skied down, too. Otherwise you have to walk to the Huggenberg (there is another guesthouse) or take the snow mobile ride by the owner for 5 euros. We used this service twice, but walking up was also fun, though real exhausting. From the Huggenberg there is a taxi service for 2,50 per direction to the valley (if you point out that you are a hotel guest, otherwise 5 euros). This was sometimes a bit stressful, because the van was very full. But altogether it was an amazing experience, wonderful nature and landscapes and a great apartment. A great choice for outdoor fans. We look forward to visiting again someday.
