Stayed a night while hiking the Via Regia. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Received "biker's" discount rate. Room to the street was a bit noisy as people who ate in restaurent below said good bye to each other for ages. Then someone arrived by taxi at 2am. Not the hotel's fault. But due to heat you had to have everything wide open not to suffocate. Dinner (matjes) was great and a huge amount.

This is more of a restaurant and guesthouse than a hotel, but as long as you aren't expecting a complete hotel experience, it's fine. We were efficiently and warmly welcomed. Our room was large with a modern bathroom. The fire evacuation instructions were unusual though - a pictogram on our 2nd floor window indicated that we should open it and climb onto a fire engine's extended ladder! The wifi was poor and didn't work at all on 2 of our 3 devices, and there was also no mobile phone signal - so a good spot if you're seeking to be unavailable. There's a fridge on the landing outside the bedrooms with beers etc in it from which you help yourself and pay when you check out. Breakfast was good and served in a bar/restaurant that was full of locals all evening and (judging from the menu) could have provided us with a perfectly acceptable meal if we hadn't fancied a change from the standard German fare. In summary, a decent place to spend a night or two despite the wifi issue, the general impression is of an establishment that cares about its guests - as long as they are capable of climbing out of the window in the event of a fire.

Stayed here for one night on a cycle touring trip of the Elbe. The hotel is in the centre of town in the main street, so is very local. Our room was quite nice and clean on the surface; however we found a mouldy sandwich in one of the cupboards, so assume the cleanliness is mostly surface. We ate here and the food was nice, but not great. There was no choice of breakfast, it arrived with eggs, veg and meat along with bread rolls, jam and butter. It was, however, well presented and very filling. The staff were very friendly. I would say that the facilities matched the price we paid for it, although perhaps some attention could be paid to cleanliness.
