We have really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Rabbit Island Huts. They are very comfortable and well equipped set in a beautiful peaceful setting. Different hut options available and we chose a hut with an ensuite bathroom and a TV. There is a very well equipped communal kitchen cabin which also has delicious complimentary bread, jams, tea, coffee and this week - feijoas. Another separate lounge cabin has comfy sofas and blankets plus books and games. We made use of the private outside bath and new sauna. Bliss when the weather was a bit damp!

A relaxed two minute walk will have you shopping in the Richmond Mall or meander up queen street for further shopping and cafes. For travelers convenience, there are two on-site restaurants with charge-back options. We are a regular favorite for corporate travelers and leisure guests looking for an affordable comfortable stopover with great dining choices and easy parking. Queen Street Studios are where you want to be.
We stayed June 2021, and the experience was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, kudos to Yani. The room was neat, clean, well appointed for what we wanted. Awesome bed, super king! Heat pump provided a comfortable environment. Shower is brilliant with lots of pressure which I loved. The view is nothing special as you look out over a car park and commercial buildings, but you do get to see the foothills. Car parking available which is handy. Kitchenette was adequate for general use, no actual cooking appliances. Easy walking distance to shopping including Richmond Mall. Not too noisy apart from Friday night hoons! All in all highly recommended.

This is the worst place I have stayed at. I originally booked for two nights a the low end of their range. I then reconsidered and booked a further night, total of three nights, and before I could ask for a better room I was offered a free upgrade, which I gratefully accepted. However on arrival I was downgraded to a box with a bed for $75 a night. You can get much better accommodation for that price. I strongly suggest you look somewhere else for budget accommodation.

We stayed here three times while bikepacking in the Tasman region. Couldn't be improved, from the quiet, rural yet handy location, Timo's helpful hospitality, extremely well-appointed comfortable lodgings, beautiful outlook, and delicious breakfasts. Highly recommended.

Marama Vineyard offers two 5 Star luxury suites situated within our operational vineyard, 50 square metres in size, with stunning views of the Western and Richmond Ranges.
We spent one night at Marama Vineyard. Anna, our hostess, was very accomodating and she made us feel home. She gave us good tips for a restaurant near by. Marama Vineyard is a beautiful place, the rooms are very comfortable and very well equiped and the home made breakfast is delicious. I wish we could have taken iton our private terrasse, but the weather didn't allow it. We tried some of the white wine made from their vines and we liked it (knowing that we are French!). I would go back there next week-end if it was not so far from home!! Anyhow, it was a wonderful break from our campervan and it was good to be pampered that way. Thank you Anna

Stayed for three nights. The house is a bit like a Tardis, much bigger from the inside. Lovely woodwork and leaded windows in the hall and landing. We had a very nice large room upstairs, double aspect with plenty of light with the largest windows facing onto the garden. Comfy bed, powerful shower. Coffee and tea facilities on the landing and a fridge for use downstairs. Nice small garden with table and chair to take the last of the sun in the evening, and a comfy lounge. Breakfasts were great, their home made granola was the best I have ever eaten.... And our host was kind enough to give us the recipe. The rest of the cooked breakfast, including bacon, sausage, tomato's, mushrooms and toast was equally excellent. We decided to cycle to the local vineyards and our host kindly lent us two good bikes for the afternoon at no charge. The house is very well situated with only a short walk into Richmond Centre. This is an excellent place to stay, great location, great breakfasts and very helpful hosts.

Unfortunately the first night (of our 3 night stay) coincided with the outbreak of fire in the South Western hills of Nelson, which placed our motel immediately alongside the highway leading to the incident .. thunderous traffic throughout the very hot night made sleep impossible. A bad beginning, & with hindsight would have located elsewhere, but just the way the cards fell .. otherwise, the motel was adequate, and management obligingly went to some lengths to provide us with a DVD player when requested.
