Loved our time here! The scenery was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The waterfall and pool were better than in the pictures online. The hammock was nice for lounging. One recommendation: bring mosquito repellent.

Spent one night here before heading to the Amazon. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure and hot water (just wait a minute or so for it to come on). Wifi signal was strong. I had dinner and this is where I am taking off a star. The staff doesn’t speak English and there was no question about dietary preference and my main protein was something I don’t eat. Breakfast was excellent! The property itself is beautiful and nice to enjoy and relax.

A True Adventure in the Tropical Jungle --We invited you to enjoy an “uncommon “adventure in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Huella Verde (Green Footprint) is a hidden place where you can have an authentic jungle experience and explore the ecosystem at your own pace. Our cabañas have been carefully constructed out of local material along with our tropical gardens which are designed to blend in with the surroundings and the natural architecture of the jungle. Here you find equilibrium with nature which provides, not just a tourist attraction, but the preservation of the culture, flora and fauna. What may surprise you is that our cabañas have the comfort and coziness of many major hotels. But, unlike other locations, at Huella Verde your senses are awakened but what surrounds you in the Amazon. We can accommodate 8 people, with private baths. Our size allows us to offer exclusive and personalized service. Panoramic views of the surrounding forest, clean air, local and international meals prepared by a skilled chef with ingredients from local farms – this is the Huella Verde difference. A Place to disconnect from reality! We are located nearby de indigenous village of Canelos located 1 hour form the city of Puyo. You can get the public bus from the city of Puyo to Canelos - 1hour aprox.
I have to say, when given directions of "look for the last hanging bridge" to get to the lodge...I knew we were in for an adventure. This truly was a magical destination. Cristof was probably one of the best hosts I've ever met. His lodge is personal...only two bungalows. We were fortunate to be the only ones for a night (two days one night is NOT enough). We had Cristof and Louis to ourselves. Cristof was full of knowledge about the area, knew all the locals, etc. not to mention was a fantastic cook. Our jungle tour with Louis was superb. He didn't speak English but my small amount of Spanish coupled with his small amount of English made our adventure perfect. He was absolutely wonderful. Even if you don't speak a bit of Spanish, I recommend Louis' tour...he'll tell you in Spanish but then give you something to read in English. Long story short...I can't imagine a better location and host for experiencing the jungle. However, if you're a city slicker and want the Ritz, this (or the Amazon in general) isn't for you. Thank you, Cristof & Louis. You made our experience unforgettable!!!!

I love that they have hot water just that it’s shared with the entire complex so sometimes you might not have as much or any hot water. But if you wait you can get it. As for the breakfast I loved the tigrillo I never tried that before and the juices and teas were amazing. All the staff was really nice. I had a moth stuck in the room and the guy was nice enough to catch and release it. The rooms are spacious (I stayed in a cabana). Only thing is it’s an extra $5 per day to use the AC and the TV isn’t that good. The staff was nice enough to fix a lightbulb in my bathroom that wasn’t working. Rooms can be noisy as the walls are thin. But it’s clean and I would definitely stay here again. I was here because I was supposed to go on a tour with another company nothing to do with the hotel and unfortunately it never happened they left me stranded but the hotel does offer tours so take advantage

Ecuador is a country with a diverse ecological area that spawns from the Andean mountains to the fertile valleys of the Littoral, and from the enchanting Galapagos Islands to the green lush of the Amazon jungle. We are located in the city of Puyo , which can be reached via south on the four-lane Pan American highway down to the city of Banos , and then continuing the trip on a two-lane road through the Andean mountain pass to Puyo. The road from Banos to Puyo is an incredible ride with its dramatic contrasts, from the Andean mountains to the tropical jungle in less than two hours. In the middle of this Amazonian jungle and the city of Puyo is the Hosteria Turingia, which gets its name from the birthplace of one of its owners from Germany . The hotel offers first rate service for this tropical paradise, from bungalows for one, two and three persons with private bathrooms and hot water; suites with sauna, bar service, and national and international cuisine. The Hotel is known for it's exceptionally clean accommodations, hot water, bilingual management and friendly service from all. We also offer all the conveniences of modern life such as telephone, fax, TV, WiFi, SPA and swimming pool. We are the only ones in Puyo to have tropical gardens, conference room, a large parking area and a night watchman for added security. For a map of the location in Puyo select "location". We stayed here a couple of nights and it was a mostly positive experience. The hostess was nice, gave us a map of the town. The room was good, bathroom too. Breakfast was good as well. What we liked most, was the nice and quiet in the courtyard and the hammock in which we could enjoy this. What we liked less, was that the room itself was very noisy. We could hear everything that the ppl in the room above us did (literally hear them brushing their teeth) and every time they walked, it sounded like the ceiling would come down. Also a minor complaint: it said onlibe that the hostel has a kitchen, but this turned out to be the owner's kitchen and we felt a bit weird/bothered to be preparing our meal right next to her family watching a movie... As a plus: fresh drinking water was provided for free.

Welcome to Hostal Posada Real, the best lodging site in the city of Puyo, located near the center of the city; This luxurious place offers elegant rooms and a distinguished atmosphere, perfect for your business stay or encounter with nature. One of the aspects that marvels to our visitors is the existence of diverse birds originating in the Province of Pastaza that inhabit in the Bambu trees that surround the Inn, more of the emblematic Puyo River that bathes one of the borders of this site. In Posada Real, the visitor enjoys the warmth of the service, modern security cameras, private parking and good taste even in the smallest details.
When I went with my companions to Puyo we stayed at the hostel "Posada Real" since it is a very cozy place and inside it is beautiful there are portraits of ancient figures that make the place interesting, the hostel is located in the middle of the street Since you can hear noise but it is not a problem, the people who attend us inside the hostel provide help when staying, inside the hostel breakfast, lunch and snack are included, the cleaning is good since they are taking care of the toilet at all times In the rooms and in the dining room, security is excellent since at all times we leave the keys with the receptionist and when they return they give us our keys, the bathroom and showers are clean I liked the hot water more since it was very Rich when taking a bath, inside the hostel there are also bars, discos that you can enter and sing, play or dance, it is highly recommended to go, it is a good place.

A bit far from the noisy Puyo center, Hostal del Rio is located in a rather quiet area with restaurants nearby. Rooms are with balcony, but without a view, a very large and shady terrace inside at the first floor, large dining room, this is the place where you are sure to get some rest, particularly when coming back from the rainforest...

Amazing views, contact with nature, peace. The people were friendly, it was a quite place, with few guests. Massage is awesome! Food is good as well. The team helped me by providing a cable so I could be more comfortable to plug my laptop and work :)

Hosteria Don Elias is a little and comfortable hotel in Amazon region in Ecuador. We have all requirements to have a relaxing time in our installations.
We stayed almost a week while working at the nearby Yana Cocha animal sanctuary. The proprietor is one of the nicest people on earth; he even let me wash come clothes in his pila. We had to wake him up in the middle of the night to open the gate in order to take one of our party to the hospital and he couldn't have been more accommodating. He also let me use the kitchen's refrigerator to keep my wine cold. Plenty of potable water is available at no charge and they keep soft drinks and beer on hand for a small fee. We had a delicious breakfast there every day and enjoyed the pool and sauna after our work each day. The rooms were cleaned every day, and I mean cleaned - I slept with the windows open at night and many insects (none biting and no mosquitoes, amazingly) came in, which were evident each morning on the floors. By the time I came back in the afternoons, there was no evidence of this due to the excellent job done by the young man who takes pride in keeping the place immaculately clean. He even changed my sheets during the week, and that doesn't even happen in four-star hotels at home. I had plenty of towels, which is also a rarity.
