Overlooking the Strait of Magellan, this isolated city in southern Patagonia bustles with windswept trekkers en route to glacier-filled Torres del Paine National Park or an Antarctic cruise. Before transiting, take note of the mansion-lined main square, Plaza Muñoz Gamero; the City Cemetery, with its elaborate tombs; and the Sara Braun Palace and Braun Menendez Residence, a preserved slice of the city's wealthy pioneer past. Daily flights connect the city with Santiago and Ushuaia.

Guests are happier about it compared to other properties in the area.
Great food. Lamb is recommended.Reception and restaurant area is simply fantastic and welcoming. Nice view from room to Plaza de Armas and/or sea. Room service is fast and hygiene measurements is highlighted. Convenient location close to a number of stores. Would prefer hard floor rather than carpet in rooms but probably is not good for cold weather. A place I will be back without a doubt. Thanks Cabo de Hornos.

Located in front of the main square, Hotel Jose Nogueira is a boutique hotel in Punta Arenas, main entrance city to the world known Torres del Paine National Park and the closest city to the Chilean Antarctic Peninsula. Originally the building hosted the home of Mr. Jose Nogueira's wife, Sara Braun. He gathered a great fortune during the second half of the XIX century. In 1890, they ordered the construction of a splendid mansion in the middle of the center of the city, which, with the passing of time, transformed into one of the symbols of Punta Arenas. The building was declared National Monument is 1982 and 10 years later, it became a small and exclusive hotel. Hotel Jose Nogueira has 22 rooms (17 standard and 5 suites).
Historic building in a central location in Punta Arenas. We stayed there for one night after flying in from Santiago before continuing to Torres del Paine park. Room was very large and spacious with a huge shower, although the furniture wasn't the most comfortable. Took quite a long time to check in and out, but the service was friendly overall. Good wine selection at the bar as well.

La Yegua Loca is a dream born of the passion and love we feel for this wonderful land. We want to enchant those who visit us, showing them part of our identity in all the spaces of the hotel and also offering them a gastronomy that evokes flavors of yesteryear. Our grandparents were Croatian pioneers who immigrated from 1915 onwards and decided to arm their destiny in these distant lands. Our parents were born and raised in Patagonia, between the simplicity of country life and each of the characters that gave life to the ranches. With the Hotel, the Restaurant and the Pulpería La Yegua Loca, we show a small part of this invaluable cultural wealth bequeathed by colonizers of different nationalities who made these distant lands their new home. We remodeled a heritage house from 1929 and built more themed rooms in 2019, following the historical line of the place and highlighting the location at the foot of the main viewpoint and the most impressive in the city of Punta Arenas.
Literally an overnight stay - but friendly and efficient staff, great location and route suggested to stretch our legs. Really good food and lovely atmosphere - but then we moved on..There was a (local) child’s birthday party and the staff took time to explain what was happening. Important attention to these sorts of details made it special.

I stayed here for one night before heading further south. I also had lunch here with a friend. It is well located on a quiet street, while only a block or so from the center of town. Service is friendly and efficient. The kitchen does a nice job for lunch and breakfast. I would stay here again.

I was here for a couple of nights on my way to Torres del Paine. It was wonderfully welcoming. Great, comfortable room. Solid breakfast. Good conversation with the host. The BB is also centrally located. I walked everywhere from the site. And it was not uncomfortable at all.

We have a very confortable living room, with Tv and games, a big and complete kitchen for our guest. We are located in the shore of Magellan Strate with a very nice view from second floor. A little bit far from the center if you don’t have a car. Very clean and nice living room for the guests. Good breakfast. The staff had Some difficult to not charge the IVA, but at the end it worked. Impossible to check in early than 15h. We tried even paying but was not possible.

Cottage decorated in rustic style run and operated by its owners. Located 7kms south of airport and 15kms north of town. Public transportation close by. Free Wi-Fi in the main house.
We only stayed here one night after a late flight but it would have been a lovely base for a longer stay. Quiet and peaceful site close to the airport. The owner picked us up late and dropped us off early and was really friendly and told us lots of interesting information about the area. Nice cosy rooms and a simply but tasty breakfast. Good communication by what’s app too to arrange transfers.

Apart Hotel Quillango offers all its guests modern, elegant and exclusive one, two and three bedroom apartments, finely furnished, and for as long as you require.
This hotel would rate 5 stars if our unit were freshly painted and had a more substantial door to the balcony. My daughter and I stayed in one of the two-bedroom suites, equipped with a small kitchen and good sized dining/living room as well a nicely decorated bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The location is a bit off the beaten track next to a well-travelled main(ish) road, but traffic noise was not a problem for me (and I'm VERY noise sensitive). The people at the desk were very helpful and gave us one great restaurant recommendation, La Marmita (where we ate three of our four nights in PA).
