This modern hotel is in central Salta. Foyer is well presented and the staff can speak adequate English. It has a small cafe where you can have a meal within a limited menu. Quality is fine. Bag storage is in a locked room but no tagging is done. On the first floor is the breakfast area. The selection is fine and the usual non milk added scrambled eggs are provided. You can ask for a custom egg style. Staff are pleasant. The bedroom is good and clean but with a desk area provided , you have to disconnect the TV to access the PowerPoint. Bathroom is clean but has the stupid bath/shower combination. This is dangerous if you are elderly..as you can fall. This is an issue common to many hotels. The bathroom also had a bidet..love this feature. Now, room selection. Do not get a room facing any street.. especially Belgrano Ave.. it can be noisy. Ask for a room facing the back. Bang for buck is very high at time of writing for Oz travellers. Wifi is good. There is no assistance for booking tours at this hotel

This colonial residence was built in the early twentieth century. Set in one of the most famous and emblematic streets, our hotel comes to life in the heart of the city. Located just two blocks from the main square and within walking distance of the most traditional sites, you can easily walk round the historic city center that defines our culture and spirit. Fully restored to new condition without losing its old-world charm, Villa Vicuna provides an inviting blend of the magical spirit of the ancient with the luxurious comfort of the new. Indoors there is always a feeling of warmth that, combined with the French style decoration and the excellent personalized attention, create a harmonious balance between the pleasure of feeling at home and the exquisite feeling of being abroad. The hotel has twelve (12) rooms, decorated in a romantic style, and a backyard with a swimming pool. We offer a delicious buffet breakfast and 24-hour service. Our goal is to provide the traveler with a warm and exclusive place, strategically located and designed to ensure a pleasant stay.
We booked two rooms during our family vacation and upon staying there realized that they have bo daylight and the “windows” are towards the indoor corridor. As there was no way to understand that when booking we felt like having bought a mice vacation and being placed in a basement. In addition the bar advertised was out of order (not serving any drinks) and the pool not filled with water. Our bathroom was in desperate need for maintenance. For sure we will look for a place that sticks to the promise when we go back to salta and will stay far away from Villa Vicuña.

On the historic quarter of the city of Salta, on Mitre Street, this mansion, which once belonged to a patrician Salteñan family, has regained the charm of its original spirit to accommodate Legado Mítico Salta, a hotel where tradition combines with today’s contemporary lifestyle.Inspired by history and culture, warm and moving, these hotels evoke those characters who led the way with their luminous performances, as well as the silent ones who wove their individual existence in the weft of our collective identity. In their design, refinement and classicism gracefully combine with the simplicity of current trends.
Beautiful renovated period house and enormous rooms. Lovely courtyard. Service is good, and I would give this four stars but it has no restaurant, and the breakfast is quite poor. About 1km away from the central square. You can park outside and there’s a 24h petrol station opposite.

Very clean with friendly staff. It is 3 blocks from the main square. Everything was great except the breakfast was poor compared to everywhere else we’ve stayed - unless you like cakes! Lots of cake selection. No eggs or cooked option. Toaster appeared dirty and didn’t really work. Cereals very basic and cold coffee. The restaurant for evening meal was very good and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend. Ate there 3 nights as it was so good but limited choice. Waiters friendly and smiley. Salads as a main we’re very good. Beef and chicken also excellent.

I was exhilarated to be making such good progress on the Northbound leg of this segmenting “My World Upon Wheels/reTIRED World (Bike)tour, 14JAN-07APR2020, when the shared taxi dropped me off at this fine hostel first (29FEB2020). Security is pretty good, entering from the street, an extremely friendly greeting by the receptionist/staff and recognition of my “slow” mobility (I use a cane) by assigning me to a close by 5-bunk/bed room—no ascending steps! I also immediately signed up for a BBQ (500 pesos pp) that evening. I couldn’t have asked for better. Actually, I could have; because Unfortunately, the room key was not readily available, which should have been a red flag, and, most importantly, I did not immediately lock up my rucksack/gear in the provided lockers. Whilst enjoying the stunningly great BBQ of many different meats, someone had gotten into room 11 and stole the money pouch & tooth kit from my rucksack. Naturally, I discovered it when I went to brush my teeth, had a very restless night disbelieving that such a person could do such a terrible thing in such a decent hostel. Everything can be replaced—except my naive trust of hostels. I’m now just a wee bit more wary. Anyway, the room was OK, though there is one bank of universal outlets mounted upper bunk high, which seems ludicrous. I temporarily amended the situation with ductape. Also, on the same wall, there is a single bulb for the room—no individual bunk/bed lights. The bathroom was quite decent, though showering does tend to flood the entire floor. The staff are quite friendly and always work hard to ensure every guest has a brekkie of coffee/2-biscuits/spoonfuls if butter & jam. There is a flat screen monitor in the brekkie/lounge room. Would I return? Should you overnight here? YES! Despite the theft, I give this hostel my “¡Wheel of Approval!

We stayed at Finca Valentina in March 2020 and had a lovely short stay in this little gem of a hotel on the outskirts of Salta. We had a beautiful two bed house in the grounds. Breakfast was served in the main building and we also had an evening meal which was perfect. Most of all was the fantastic service that the team of ladies provided, from the food to helping us with information on the day of the Corona lock down we couldn’t fault them. Highly recommend!

In the village of Coronel Moldes, and a short distance from the well-known Cabra Corral dam and man-made lagoon, you are about to encounter an incredible place. Built circa 1800, the lodge used to be an old country mansion used to lodge the Colonial Spain officers. It has an open structure surrounded by a gallery where the ample and comfortable rooms are distributed. You will be provided with direct and preferential attention, and will enjoy the surrounding peace of a one of a kind resort.
Very nice and very quiet in the country. And older estate type property, couldn't tell if it's still a working farm or not but certainly looks like it could be. Room was basic but quite comfortable. Our group had dinner and breakfast and food was good. Owner/manager does not speak English.

A hostel with a young spirit, a cozy place to meet friends and enjoy the charms of the night Salteña.We offer all kinds of rooms, dormitories, double, triple and quadruple rooms with or without private bathroom.Run by the owners and expect to receive them to enjoy the charm and breathtaking landscapes of this great city, with the goal of sitting at home.
I stayed at this lovely, welcoming hostal on two occasions in May of this year-the first time for 4 nights and again later on for another night. The hostal is conveniently located -6/7 minutes from the Plaza. On each occasion I booked a private room...This was unfailingly super clean and atttractive each time. The common areas were ideal places to meet people and the building itself is very secure. The stand-out feature of this place, however,is the staff.I want to mention Martin and Danielle who were always friendly and helpful. In particular I want to mention Marcello. This man is outstanding-helpful,kind,understanding and always at the disposal of the people who stay there. To get to Chicoana by local bus Marcello lent me his SUBE card, saving me the expense of buying one.Marcello always had a friendly smile whenever we met on the corridor...Truly an exceptional man...Definitely plan on returning to Hostal Namaste again and again.
