We were very pleased with this hotel and had a great time. The location has great views of the surrounding nature, but it’s not too far from “civilization”. You definitely need a car to get around, but it’s a great jumping off point for exploring the beauty of both the Higher and Lower Tatras - Strbske Pleso and Slovak Paradise Park are each a 40-50 minute drive away. The hotel staff were all very kind and friendly. There was usually someone around who could speak English, though we also got by more easily in Russian. They were eager to help and make an effort to communicate. Covid wise, there was hand sanitizer at the reception and restaurant, little bottles provided in the bathroom toiletries kit, and with the exception of 3-4 staff, everyone wore masks in all areas of the hotel. There is also a chair lift right outside the hotel which would be super convenient for skiers. Room The room was comfortably sized, very clean, and it had a balcony with a gorgeous view. The bed was comfortable enough (I found it a little soft), the shower was fantastic (it has an overhead rain shower, always hot, and with good pressure). Spa The spa was amazing to have, and definitely helped revive us after long hikes in the mountains. There are Finnish and infrared saunas, salt “sauna”, and steam room, plus a jacuzzi and “relaxation zone”. There is also a cold water plunge pool that is constantly circulating, for a dip after the sauna. And if you want to treat yourself further, there is an ice making stand that allows you to grab a handful and put it on your head after a hot steam. There is also a small pool and kiddie pool which were popular with the families (we didn’t use them), and overall the spa had a truly 5-star vibe - really luxurious. On Saturday they had fresh fruit on offer, there was always water, and there were also alcoholic beverages available which you can charge to your room. The spa was very clean and organized, with fresh towels, and the floors were clean and water mopped up. The hotel rooms also came with robes and slippers for going down to the spa. Restaurant We spent 4 nights at the hotel, and ate dinner there on 2 of them. The restaurant is nicely decorated and capacious, allowing for good social distancing. The vibe is countryside and not too fancy, so you don’t feel out of place in your hiking attire. On Friday night we were welcomed with an aperitif of the locally made liquor (50% alcohol by volume! Sure does open the appetite). The fireplace was running, there was live music, and a festive atmosphere. The a la carte menu has a decent amount of options and the prices are fair - on par with places we saw outside the hotel, and the food above average (there was a feeling that there is a real chef in charge of the restaurant, everything tasted fresh and home made). On another night we did the buffet option (24 euros per person not including beverages). There were a lot of options, so you can definitely eat heartily! Soups, salads, quite a few proteins and side dishes, and dessert options. The breakfast buffet also has a large selection, though it doesn’t vary much day-to-day: fresh fruit, yogurt/cereal, cold cuts, sliced veggies, 2 types of eggs being freshly made as well as various sausages and other warm dishes, breads and pastries (these were the weakest part of the offerings). There is a self-serve coffee machine with options for espresso/cappuccino/etc. that was very good, and even champagne for a nice breakfast mimosa! (Minor) Drawbacks: - The room doesn’t have a thermostat, just a radiator. I imagine in the winter it is very cozy, I have no idea how hot the summers are in this area. For now, the room was a little warm, so we resorted to opening the balcony door/window and had fresh mountain air. On the plus side, we could hear the nearby stream during the quiet of the night. - The room is also not soundproof, which is our only real complaint from our stay. We could the hear the TV in the neighboring room, the shower running, and people passing by in the hall. But by 22:00-23:00 everything was super quiet. - One drawback on the spa is that the relaxation zone is not soundproof. You constantly hear the jacuzzi running and people talking - I couldn’t get relaxed in there.

We came there and wanted to order pancakes, coffee and lemonade. Coffee wasn't great, lemonade was just a tap water with sirup. We waited 40 minutes but no pancakes were delivered. So we've decided to cancel order and leave but waiter let us wait for another 10 minutes and he did not even say sorry...

We stayed 3 nights in Mountain View resort in apartment with two children. Far from luxury accomodation. The food and services ok for 3 star hotel, not for 4 star hotel. Inside pools ok, outside pools reasonable. For money we payed you can find much better hotel with pools in Slovakia.

Was not explained to us at any point during arrival that we were not guests of the hotel. Because of this the reception staff were particularly inattentive to our needs on arrival and it was only on day 3 that they told us that we were not guests of the hotel because we asked why our room was not being serviced. we were told that only one service had been included in the price, and to contact the owner if we were unhappy. This was the first we were aware that we were not dealing with the actual hotel..... One room service before we arrive and no other for 4 days really isn't acceptable for what is marketed as a 4* hotel. Also - A signed fire exit was padlocked shut which I believe is illegal. When we pointed this out to the hotel staff we were told the local fire chief had done this - I find this difficult to believe.... Finally, we stayed for 4 nights with an infant child, which means we had a pram and pushchair. The lifts were bizarre and meant that even when you got to your floor, you still had a flight of stairs to go up or down - impossible with a pushchair. This could be avoided by taking a seperate service type elevator and pushing the pram through the middle of the restaurant. Not a great experience during busy meal times. Parking was not included in the price. I suspect because the owner does not have private parking. However, when we paid for parking the hotel did not make it clear that there were in fact 3 tiers of parking. 1-Private indoor apartment parking, 2-Hotel private parking indoor, 3- Hotel private parking outdoor. As we had company for the first 2 nights with a friend staying in a private apartment which came with parking indoors, we were able to use her space. When she left and we paid for 2 additional nights private parking for our 'private apartment' the hotel would only supply us with access to their outside parking at 9 Euros per night. This caused us confusion as they didn't explain the different types of parking.

The mountain hotel Sliezsky Dom, with its altitude of 1,670 m.a.s.l., is the highest situated mountain hotel in Slovakia. Thanks to its position, it is also a favourite starting point for not only trail trips and hikes, but also for the climbs to the highest peak of Slovakia named Gerlachovsky Stit or Gerlach.
I was very disappointed with the hotel's staff. I never leave negative reviews but both hotel managment and potential clients should be aware of this. I have reserved the winter romantic getaway promotion for myself and my partner (with 3 course dinner, 2 course lunch, welness, view point, welcome fruit basket and welcome bottle of wine, late check included), and when I got to the room, there was no welcome gifts. My partner came down to reception to inform them of the mistake, and their answer was "we don't have it on the system and we can't honour any of that". Great! So due to their system fault, they were not able to honour the conditions of the reservations and they didn't even offer partial refund. The reception didn't follow up to understand why it didn't appear on their system, simply they blamed me for booking it incorrectly where I definitely booked it the correct way, because I ensured that the promotion code is included, and yes, yes it was. Very disappointing. This would never take place in an actual 4 star hotel on the West of Europe. After the incident, we felt very negative vibe from reception not even saying hello to us or giving ua looks for I believe being "demanding guests" since we have paid for this. This stay was supposed to be my birthday treat, and they absolutely destroyed the weekend. At the same time, we got a confirmation that they would be able to cater for vegans. During breakfasts vegan people could eat 1 particular bread and jam and some fruit unless it was already eaten by other guests. That's it. One bread type and jam and maybe pineapple. No ham/cheeses/butter/eggs alternatives. Nothing. For dinner, the guests have about 10 different meal options and they all look amazing. For vegans? Fries and vegetable salat. Not one hot meal replacement, you don't eat meat or cheese? Eat raw salad. This isn't acceptable and this clearly isn't "catared for vegans" but "we happen to have salad and fries since other guests would like that too. It's not difficult to make a soup without cream, or to make curry without meat. Thank God, I got only 2 nights in the hotel because on salads only (and bread and jam) you wouldn't be able to function long term.

Check-in was handled poorly. We did not meet Jan until the second night at which time we were checked in. We had to get all pertinent information from other guests upon arrival. The bed was comfortable, the shower had good water pressure and the room was clean. Location was close to town and supermarkets. Fifteen minute walk from the train station. The biggest drawback was that the temperature in the room was "miserably" hot. There was no circulation of outside air due to the location of the room. The crisp cool night air never made it into our room even with the window open 24/7. A fan would have made a big difference. Definitely cannot recommend this place and would not stay here again.
