The hotel does not even provide bottled water. The atmosphere is moist and uncomfortable in my room. Faucet handle leaking water. Plug not working. Overall an old hotel. One great thing is that the front desk is very nice. She gave me great advice about dining.

We had 3 adults and they gave us a king bed with a small sofa bed. When they moved us to the next room to try to accommodate us, it was on the ground floor. We had ants throughout the room. We found a roach on the side of the sofa and had to call the maintenance people to come and kill it. They sprayed RAID in the room which caused fumes. The fan light wasn’t working, the bathroom was outdated and disgusting. It’s just something I didn’t expect from a resort style hotel. I was very disappointed they couldn’t move us to a more appropriate room. We were there for a wedding and we had a horrible time getting ready. I tried switching hotels, unfortunately the ones I called were all booked up.

The experience was bad. The room looks so old that is different than antique. The bed is very uncomfortable. In addition, the client service was bad. During the morning of the second day, personally I request to change the towels and more of it and when I came to bedroom during night nothing was change; neither they gave to us room service. I heard bad comments from your employees about their co-workers with other co-workers. Was the same girl of front desk. This is not professional. The way to go to the parking was dirty and under construction with a lot of dirt. The only thing that I liked was the hot water, air conditioner and the room was clean.

We are in the heart of the historic district of Ponce. Rooms with cathedral ceilings and traditional balconies. Next to Plaza las Delicias and the Trolley Tour. Family owned and operated.
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Belgica!! The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very nice and went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible; even letting me use their washer and dryer free of charge when I requested a laundry service. I will for sure stay here again when I go back to Ponce in the future

They organized a concert till midnight, which was very loud and it was impossible to sleep in the rooms. Not respectful at all towards people that have to wake up early and go to work. Is supposed to be an hotel, not a disco. The room is super humid and if you increase temperature of the a/c the floor becomes completely wet. In order to moderate humidity you have to stay in a very cold room

Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino is located at the corner of Reina and Union Street, in downtown Ponce. The hotel has a unique concept that intertwines modern style and historical architecture. The historic facade dating from 1882 is regulated by the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture. It was built by the owner at the time, Mr. Francisco Roubert, who along with former ex-slaves conducted this valuable architectural gem and lived for many years with his family. In 1912, it becomes the Liceo Ponceno School, the first all-girl school. After many years as a commercial property, it was purchased by the Munoz family and restored to what today is known as the Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino. The hotel amenities are, the Casino de la Plaza, Lola Eclectic Cuisine Restaurant, Melao Coffee Shop, Viva Bar and a swimming pool. The Ponce Plaza Hotel and Casino includes 7 rooms that reflect the colonial style of the historic building and 62 rooms that offer a modern touch, all 69 rooms embellish this boutique style hotel in the heart of the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
WHOA SHOCKED IN THE WORST WAY!!! We chose this hotel because it was as much as the casino resorts (get the resort) and heart of Ponce. We arrived at 4am and informed them prior, during booking, our flight lands early but were not informed of fee. It was fine but courtesy information should be given prior. The elevator is further and hidden when it should be accessible for handicap. The pool is pretty small and right next to the parking lot, no view. When we entered the room the smell of water mold smacks you in the face. The room was so tiny and out of date, I knew right away we were not staying. We couldn't shower off the airplane funk, as the standing shower floor was stained brown. The bathroom is extremely small as well which made sense why they only had the small standing shower, no tub. The AC was unmanageable and extremely loud like a motor running on no oil. My husband and daughter were exhausted, so we decided to sleep a couple hours before leaving. Sleep was impossible!!! Reminder we came at 4AM. Where the balcony (no sort of pretty view to the heart of Ponce) is you have the back of a building and parking lot with a alley it seems. 5AM a truck was having trouble backing up into something and it was extremely loud. Close to 545AM someone was honking like a maniac in the parking lot of the hotel that echos (which is the view when you open your room door so you hear everything). A little after 615AM workers began construction (which you are not given courtesy information prior after booking) and they were loud. Not only is the work being down loud but the workers are talking and laughing so loud there conversation sound as if they were in our room. We said we couldn't sleep so there was no point to stay longer. After 7AM we check out and they charged us over $250 for no more than 3 1/2 hours being there. I didn't have energy to argue because of no sleep. There is no Kidzone like you see in the picture, that is from a little corner of the cafe there and nomore game. We grabbed breakfast at 5hat cafe $17 for waffles and eggs with juice. I truly do not understand the great ratings as the room itself was more like one of those hourly cheap hotels. The colors of the building and certain little areas definitely cause deceiving pictures. We booked Hilton Golf & Casino Resort and wish we did that first. Holiday Inn Resort is the same price or $100 or $200 more just stay somewhere else and much nicer. Don't do it to yourself if you want to sleep and enjoy Ponce.

Solace, the "Caribbean Seaside Hotel" is the newest hotel destination located in Ponce at the southern region of Puerto Rico. Equipped with 102 comfortable and spacious rooms, pool, restaurant and other recreational areas perfect for family vacations. Strategicly, Solace by the Sea is located in the south of Puerto Rico, with direct access to the main highways of Puerto Rico, offering your family the opportunity to discover the hidden treasures in the Porta Caribe Region and the historic epicenter in Ponce.
We did believe what we saw on the Solace's Web Site but found out is nothing like it. This people capitalize on the name of "el Tuque" which is a famous well known favorite beach in Ponce. The bedroom appears to be in ruins, the shower works like needles on you, there is mold in the bathroom, no dresser, we saw bugs running over the sink, water to the toilet tank stopped at a critical moment, there was no kitchenette as advertised, the bedroom TV is an old '90s model with almost no signal nor sound, the bed pillows had no cushion, their is no restaurant but a cheap area with camping tables and chairs, no signs of maintenance to the surroundings nor the whole building, there were no table/chairs to seat and have coffee, snacks or a meal. The beds were relatively comfortable, the Flat Screen TV in the living area was working well but limited access to two channels only. The fridge worked well. I reported the problems to the front desk and all I receive was a vague look back. We have no intention to repeat our stay at The Solace By the sea.

The first thematic hotel in Ponce to integrate a vintage-modern pop-art. An iconic landmark located at the vital center of Ponce historic district surrounded by a vibrant and diverse ecosystem of museums, monuments, shops, restaurants, cafes and art galleries, the Historic District is an extension of the Fox Hotel urban experience.
It was a nightmare at the time to go sleep. Music until 1am was so loud that is was impossible to be inside the room, not been able to sleep or watching tv. On the other hand the attention of the staff was great. The staff is really willing to help and make your stay very pleasant.
