It seems that this property is under new management ,check in was terrible . Staff not qualified ,Elevator not working. Rooms were smelly. This used to be a nice Hotel before, now it's run down. The only thing good about this hotel is the breakfast., Lobby entrance .

Just needed to rest and sleep away from family and was mostly pleased with my stay. The lobby smelled clean and the elevators smelled musty. Conveniently next to 595 Highway and no traffic noise. Weekend deal for a discounted price for a room with a king bed on the 5th floor. Hallway and Room I'm not partial to dark decor and dark hallways but the room was a bit better. It had a clean spacious bed and a clean and nice bathroom with both, a rainfall and hand held shower head, with decent varying pressures and hot water, a comfortable toilet and nice toiletries. The room design was nice enough with an eclectic feel and warm colors like dark wooden furniture accented with gold and a nice modern wooden desk and a nice blue sofa nook with a convertible coffee table. There were plenty of modern lighting sources in both the bathroom and room. That was a plus for me. Two large carpets on the wooden floor were a bit trafficked and could use a better cleaning. Tech The hotel televisions are antiquated with giant pixels and few channels. There are no HDMI cable connections to the laptop, probably so you pay for movies etc . It was convenient to have tea, coffee, creamer, sugar and cups provided. The coffee machine was small and old and I thought about it twice before using it. It was complimentary so I definitely made use of it. It’s good that I did because the breakfast is not free and when I did go for it was ~ $25. I was supposed to use a voucher of some sort if I asked for a paid breakfast at arrival. It was never explained. No microwave on the room but a small one next to reception. Small fridge but it freezes anything if used overnight. There are 6 USB connections throughout the room. Some didn’t work. Service Front Desk took a while to attend as they were on the phone but check in was quick. Paid $10 for parking/day. They were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure you had enough of what you needed. It looks like they are a bit understaffed but did provide an engineer to check on my floor hallway right away when I heard rattling on my door late at night. I figured it was some drunk person trying to get into their room several times. I appreciate their calling me back to reassure me. No housekeeping service each day, it has to be requested 24 hours in advance signing up for it at the front desk. The front desk provides you with paper plates or plastic utensils if you need them. I guess you have to throw away your trash, but just not sure it there was a trash chute (didn't ask). That was likely what I liked least. Even if it’s because of covid , they should clear out the trash or provide clear indications or a designated place for people to drop it off. Noise: For the most part I didn't hear anyone but heard some loud talking in the the adjacent rooms through the vents. ️ Windows and View: The large windows and their treatment were big and nice with gold curtains and sheer curtains as well. The view of the lake was nice at night. Wi-Fi saved was accessible but with an Access Code. Next time I'd search out a hotel that was tall like this one but a little more modern with technology and lighter decor.

My wife and I stayed for a week. We chose this property because it was very close to most of the stores that we were interested in. Most places were within less than 10 minutes drive, so it met our expectations. Quality wise, the property rates as a solid 3 star. The free breakfast was actually better than expected, smoothies at breakfast and lemonade in the lobby in the afternoons were nice touches. The staff were all friendly and helpful, no complaints there at all. The computers and printer in the lobby area were really helpful to print out our Covid test results and boarding passes, which we had received by email. My only two complaints would be: 1) have adjustable height chairs for the computers. The chairs were regular dining chairs which were too low and awkward to use at the computer. 2) In the kitchen there was a small two burner cooktop which was not practical for any serious cooking - the pots and frypan were made of thin metal, which limited what could be done. But then I guess a larger cooktop and better cookware would have made Residence Inn a four star property, so I can't complain too much. On the plus side, there was also a large gas grill for guest use so if I had wanted to grill something that would have been possible.

Excellent service. Great location. Very comfortable! There's no other hotel with such friendly staff. My mother died, so I picked her favorite hotel to grieve in. I had no trouble sleeping even with all the racing in my head. Thank you La Quinta

Overall this hotel is fine. It’s safe and gets the job done. But it is not the typical Hyatt I’m used to. This property is franchised and that could be the problem. Pros: the staff is extremely friendly. Not one person I interacted with was not extremely friendly. They all had a great attitude and were accommodating. The room itself was clean and the staff made sure what they could control was clean. Cons: the rooms are very outdated and showing signs of extreme wear and tear. The lamp was broken and so many scratches all over the furniture and lamps. The floor had that stickiness ( you know what I’m talking about when it’s old). This hotel needs to be renovated and updated with newer technology. Once that happens, I would gladly stay here again. Another note, put some more lights outside. It is very dark at night and kinda creepy with all the trees!

Keys were ready for us at our (early) check in. Arrived at the room, where air conditioner and tv were on to welcome us. We were using points and got the king room requested (which hasn't always happened at all chains redeeming points), which was a nice size. Cute little balcony overlooking courtyard had two chairs. Bathroom was also a decent size, unlike many newer hotels. Loved the Paul Mitchell energizing body wash. Though an older hotel, accommodations here are comfortable. We had a small fridge in the room, which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

Have to ding them at least one point for parking. The deck is not adjacent to the hotel, so it’s a wet jog if it’s raining. However the real issue is that the deck floods. They do warn you, but be sure to park on at least the slope up to the second level. The flooding won’t ruin your car, but you will have to wade in ankle deep water to get to it. Plus, in a brand new deck - no charge stations or outlets. Lots of other hotels in the Ft. Lauderdale area provide energy for EVs. Look to those if you’re electric. Rooftop pool is nice. Even on a hot and muggy day there was a nice breeze, as well as some shade. Fitness room was well appointed with treadmills, ellipticals, two bikes, and a nice range of dumbbells and a crossover cable machine. Breakfast buffet was very nice. And as others have said, plenty of space in the suite. It’s pretty close to lots of shops and restaurants, and across the street from the just-opened Tacocraft - a fantastic little place.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but we had an awful experience with this hotel. Our flight was delayed by approx. 5 hours so I messaged the hotel to confirm that our check-in time would be later than expected. When we arrived, the concierge told us that the room had been cancelled because they tried to run the credit card and it bounced (this was not true). They told us that they had sent an email earlier that evening, but this was similarly untrue (and we didn't receive a cancellation notice or email until the next day, at which point the reason for cancellation had changed to say that the hotel was full). This conversation went on for over 30 mins and we were not allowed to enter the lobby, despite it being 3am in a foreign place and us needing to use wifi to find alternate accommodations. We were visibly upset and in a bad mental state, having been travelling for over 12 hours by this point, but the concierge still denied us access to the building. We ended up sitting in our hire car (thank goodness for that!) for 2 hours trying to find a hotel that had space and sadly missed one of the everglades excursions we had planned. Overall a really disappointing and upsetting experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

We spent one night here. We were allowed to check in early, which was nice. Front desk clerk was friendly and professional. Our room was dated, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast area looked fresh and clean, not cramped. Breakfast was tasty with many choices. Two negatives for this property. The pool was not clean at all. I don’t know if the pump was running. There were things floating including a plastic bag and someone’s hair. Second concern is security. The tower we stayed in had key only access as it was away from the front desk, but you could actually open the doors without the key as they did not latch properly. I locked both keys in the room and went to the front desk to ask for a new. He made me a new key without even asking my name, and I had never seen him before, so he could not have recognized me. The stay was good for us but if I had been alone or traveling with children who really wanted to swim it would have been problematic.
