I choose this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff are nice to an extreme. The location is a short walk from the main plazas. The rooms are nothing to wow your socks off but very nice for the price. I was traveling alone and upgraded to have a bigger room for only a small price bump. For the wonderful family and the underappreciated city of Pelotas, I hope I am able to return someday. If you are Pelotas-bound, his is where you should stay!

Best quality/price ratio in Pelotas. The hotel is clean, with very nice rooms with good heating (a must in the winter). Internet access was excellent. Very good breakfast. The hotel has a restaurant that has a very high reputation among locals.

Charqueada Santa Rita, the former Inácio Rodrigues Barcellos Charqueada, build in 1826 in a typical colonial style, played an important role in the Pelotas Charqueada centre and also played an important part in the history of the city of Pelotas.Boasting a meticulously restored architecture and an exuberant centenary garden, carefully restored and manicured by the current proprietors, Charqueada Santa Rita still maintains alive the atmosphere of splendor and wealth that once reigned in the city of Pelotas.Santa Rita currently offers guided tours through the property and also offers a cozy lodge and a large events house on the banks of the Pelotas river, where a number of events take place throughout the year, such as wedding receptions, dinners, business lunches, seminars, etc…
I loved this little boutique hotel. Artful design, careful attention. Beautiful grounds on the river, buildings from the 1800’s, sheep milling about, horses to ride, small museum displays...truly a special place. I would have loved to see some of the museum information in English; I missed an opportunity to learn. We were the only family who was not Brazilian. Everything is in Portuguese ... like many other places in Brazil, staff did not appear to speak English or Spanish. Be careful when communicating; expect a couple of setbacks, but note that there is only one person at a time working in the small reception area. Kind attention is given to all. We spotted a crocodile, ordered pizza delivery for dinner, and contentedly lay in our beds (I had linen envy, to be sure. How do they keep everything so clean and comfortable?) drinking tea and watching the light through the stained glass window. There is a pool, ping pong table, lots of green space for kids to run. Safe. Good parking. Very good breakfast buffet. Excellent choice after crossing the border with Uruguay, north of the beaches. I purchased a couple of post cards...if I could have purchased stamps too, leaving them to be posted, it would have been close to perfect!

I say that because we only know another hotel, because we have only been to Pelotas a few times. Clean, reasonably spacious rooms, small but helpful staff. Simple breakfast compensated by helpful and polite attendants. However, the social distance measures are not strictly followed, and this is more the fault of the guests than the team.

The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly but the hotel was just average. Breakfast options were just ok (something that usually is above and beyond in hotels in Brazil). The room I stayed in had major problems - floor with cracks, very inconvenient outlets, no decor at all to make the room more cozy. Also, on the last night, there was no hot water available to take a shower, which was only disclosed after a call to the reception area, which took about 1h to return the call to let me know a lightning strike had messed up their system. :(

The hotel is well located in the middle of the action and yet quiet enough for a relaxing night. My review is based on one night staying in a room on the first floor where the only window was facing the building shaft with "a great view" of four other windows and almost zero natural ventilation. The room was not good at all. Old furniture, dark and extremely tight, tighter than the rooms at Ibis. Althought the bathroom was clean it looked dirty due to lack of proper illumination. Breakfast was OK. Overall this hotel fell below my expectation when you take in consideration premium price they charge for a night.

We stayed one night here during the World Cup and it was great - big and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The staff were helpful (albeit in a mixture of Portugues, Spanish, and English - communication was occasionally a little difficult!) and the location was good - a few blocks from the central market (beautiful) and loads of shops and restaurants. The only downside of the hotel was the shower - not particularly warm or much pressure. But aside from that, all good! The breakfast was very Brazilian, and very tasty, and the (small) pool looked nice for warmer weather. We were also pleasantly surprised with Pelotas itself - a charming wee place, stop here if you get the chance.

Our hostel is located in Pelotas, 1 mile (1,6 km) from the historic city center. Hello Hostel Design offers free WiFi, a 24/7 reception and a few gardens so the guests can enjoy sunny afternoons and drink the local beverage: 'chimarrão'. The breakfast has freshly baked bread & croissaints, wholewheat bread, fruits, greek yogurt, cheese, ham, cake, tea, coffee, milk, etc. This isn't your convencional hostel, we host people with pleasure and work very hard to make you feel welcome!
This is a very comfortable and nice hostel. The rooms are enormous and the bathrooms are great! Evandro helped me a lot to get to the beaches and with any enquiry I had. The breakfast is quite good also! You can get many things from fruit to cheese bread! I spent two days and it wasn't too crowded.i felt I had the whole hostel for me!
