Stylish, private studio apartments with stunning views. An easy walk to the wineries or village, both around 1km away.
We wanted some nice accommodation near Mudbrick, where we were due to attend a wedding. This place is perfect. The rooms are clean and modern with all the amenities you'd expect and with the town centre, the ferry and a couple of vineyards just a short walk away. Only minor quibble was the gym, which you'd think a good thing but I think someone must have been dropping weights that would be a tad noisy/shaky when it happened (I think this is what it was). Overall though, I recommend and would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wild Thyme. It's spotlessly clean and modern, with everything thoughtfully appointed. Bruce and Jules are lovely hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable stay. Thank you!

At Cable Bay Views, your comfort and satisfaction come first, and they look forward to welcoming you to Oneroa.
We loved our 3 day stay at Cable Bay views. The location worked really well for us - we brought our car over on the ferry, but actually for people who enjoy a walk, you can walk up from the Matiatia ferry in about half an hour (head for Cable Bay vineyard first then around the roadside to Cable Bay Views). And as you can tell from this, the whare is also (a short) walking distance from two close-by wineries - Cable Bay and Mudbrick - both of which do lunch and evening meals. Mudbrick also does breakfast 9-11am - on a fine day, breakfast out on the terraces at Mudbrick with views across the sea to Rangitoto and the Auckland CBD is something very special. And if you stay at Cable Bay Views, you even have the option of doing this every day. We stayed in Unit 2, the central unit in a terrace of lovely modern whare with their backs to the road (lined with attractive tropical plantings) and front sides looking out across greenery to Cable Bay winery. A full length deck runs right along the front side with doors opening on to it - a great space for sitting outdoors with a book, and especially for relaxing in the evening when it is cooler. There is a small kitchen area (fridge and microwave), couch, small table with chairs and large, comfortable bed. Quite a few extras - I especially loved the lovely toiletries: body and hand wash, shampoo and conditioner plus handcream all by great New Zealand brand Ashley and co. There is no plunger but a coffee machine with pods (not so easy to find pods on the island so if this is your thing, and you are going to stay more than a night, consider bringing your own). Also only two mugs and two glasses so you may like to bring a few of your own. For example, we began by using one glass for our toothbrushes then realised there weren’t any to drink from. Hairdryer, iron and board, even an umbrella. And the highlight for me - Sky Sport! As a cricket fan I was thrilled to be able to not only watch New Zealand beat India, but to be able to tape the match while we were out enjoying Waiheke to finish watching later. Ka mau te wehi! Quiet and easy (key in lockbox when you arrive), this is an ideal place for independent travellers to enjoy a relaxing break.

Welcome to our small social backpackers on the magical Waiheke Island, the island of sun, wine and fun! Only 35min from downtown Auckland. Waiheke is so close, yet so far removed from the rat race of Auckland City - come and see why Waiheke was voted one of the worlds top island destinations in the world by many travel magazines. The Hekerua Lodge Backpackers is centrally located secluded on an acre of stunning New Zealand native bush, only 5 minutes walk form Little Oneroa Beach and another 10 to the shops We cater specially for the international youth travel market, a place to meet new people, laugh and dance in paradise, so if you wish to socialize and have fun then the Hekerua Lodge Backpackers is the place for you!! We offer a chilled spot to get away from it all and immerse yourself in island and backpacker life. We have no TV so relax on any of our sun decks, take a dip in our rock pool or just wash it all away in our spa pool. Get involved with all our fun activities in the camp-ground including volleyball, cricket, beersbie and yoga!
I booked into this hostel by mistake, and now I don’t want to leave! This is such a welcoming place, from staff to guest, just get involved in the community vibe and you’ll be rewarded. I feel very lucky to have found this special gem, and I can’t wait to return and bring friends. The facilities are excellent. Hekeruah has everything you need for a comfortable stay: great beds and showers, a spa pool, a sociable deck area and beautiful scenery, whilst only being a short walk from the beach. There’s even a fabulous veggie garden and friendly dogs! The owners Tom and Audrey are extremely kind and generous with their time, their home and their energy. They’ve created a very safe, non-judgemental and seriously fun Waiheke world of their own and they’ve managed to fill it with lots of like-minded and cool souls. I’ve made friends here. Thank you, Hekeruah... you gave me everything I needed and so much more! See you soon! Anna

The Moorings are two luxury studios located in an unbeatable spot towering over Matiatia Bay in Oneroa, Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Each of the identical studios have private decks and 180 degree breathtaking sea views looking over the bay, Rangitoto Island and back to Auckland. The studios are a perfectly romantic and private spot to enjoy spectacular sunsets, whilst still being so close to Oneroa's village, beaches and vineyards...
We had a four night break here in Studio 1. Wonderful and much needed time away. Owners Sarah & Andrew were very accomodating. Beautiful views across the bay. Lots of time spent out on the deck enjoy the sunsets. We were luck to have generally sunny weather which was lovely to wake up to. The property is set directly behind where the ferry docks. A close but very steep walk up a dirt road about ten minutes. The town centre of Oneroa is about a 15/20 min walk away but that’s all relative. There’s a couple of ways to get there. Either uphill on the main road or via a couple of different walking tracks which we loved. Part of being in NZ is to enjoy the outdoors so the walk wasn’t a big deal to us. One tip would be, get whatever supplies you want during business hours as a lot is closed afterwards. We hired a car ($69) from the ferry terminal one of the days to check the island out. Re wineries…most are closed Mon-Wed. Wineries though like Cable Bay & Passage Rock we’re open 7 days. A great break, we’ll be back!

We had 3 nights on fabulous Waiheke Island staying at Aqua-Wai Apartments. The studio apartment is stylishly appointed, comfortable and provisioned with lots of extras to make your stay special. It is located opposite Little Oneroa Beach on a busy road bend, General Store, Take Away and pizza van. It’s an uphill walk into Oneroa so good to go at low tide when 6pu can walk around the beach and headland. Harry the owner was only too happy to drop us in town and down to the ferry when it was time to go. Highly recommended!

What a really lovely place to stay, well appointed suites, unbelievable views across the bay and right to Auckland (great view at night). Very quiet and private unit, lovely bottle of wine on arrival just waiting for us. They go out of the way to make you feel welcome, snacks, nibbles and breakfast food as well . There was even a car to use while we stayed there. Will definateky go back there.

This is a lovely apartment with beautiful comfy sofa and bed. great sunshine. BUT its located almost level with a main road and its so so noisey. There are 14 louver windows at the front and these do not shut any noise out. The vehicles quieten down about 10.30pm, but start up again around 5.30am. During the day it is constant traffic just metres from the balcony and room. Its unfortunate as it would otherwise be wonderful. But its not a relaxing stay with the constant noise which you just cant drown out. The local siren went off in the night, a car alarm went off for about 20 minutes and the external steps and corridor was also loud when other residents were coming and going. Then the tiddly girls screeching and laughing at all hours. Loved the apartment, but Im not use to big city noise on holiday.
•Choose from 1-4 of these beautifully styled Scandinavian cabins. •Each cabin sleeps 3 people with 1 comfortable king sized bed 1 one single trundle. •Surrounded by native bush. •Walking distance to ferry, Oneroa shops, Oneroa beach and 3 wineries.
