The Queens Head was fully refurbished in April 2019. We offer a variety of smart en-suite rooms. We have a relaxed atmosphere, friendly bar and helpful staff. The attractive lounge/ restaurant has a comfortable ambience offering an area for informal dinning, catching up with friends over a coffee and a slice of cake or a drink around our lovely log burner. There is a patio garden and free private car park. We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and service.
We often go to the Queens Head for Sunday lunch but recently there has been quite a high price increase for the lunches with a dip in quality. I know most places have increased prices recently but the portion size of meat has been drastically cut along with the options available. We also make a booking and have turned up twice recently to be told we haven’t booked! Not sure what is going on but need to revert back to a few months ago where everything was spot on!!

Traditional pub in a small country village looking out onto the village green. Lively bar and lounge offering real ales Cask Marque Awarded for Quality Real Ales and a good selection of beers and lagers, wines and spirits. We serve food in our restaurant all day serving Locally sourced ingredients which is home cooked and hearty. Our rooms are comfortable and styled to be simple but cosy.
We stayed here for a couple of nights. At breakfast, the service was not good. The male who served us was rude and unfriendly. He did not offer another cup of tea and did not engage with us at all. It felt like he was doing us a favour. This was a precious break in our holiday and I can not recommend Newcastle House to anyone.

A proper little country pub with award winning accommodation. We are located in the beautiful Northumberland National Park and we have some of the DARKEST SKIES in England. We are very close to Kielder Water and Observatory, Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Gardens and the Coast. There are some beautiful walks that start from the pub including an ancient BASTLE trail. We have 2 family rooms and also welcome well behaved dogs. Whether you are coming to the area to walk, cycle, star gaze or just relax we can assure you of a very warm welcome.
Exceeded expectations, perfect in every way. Room was fab and had everything we needed, lovely location, nice community and the bar is probably unique harking back to previous times. Great choice of real ales and cider, lovely breakfast and good banter with Jools who was serving us. It was a lovely break and will definitely return. They don’t serve food on a Sunday so will go back a different night to sample the evening meal. Note there is no mobile phone signal but good Wi-Fi and if you need to make or receive a call there is an honesty box for a landline. Loved it ❤️

The Turk's Head was built in the sixteenth century as a coaching Inn. Centuries later, our stables have been renovated into en-suites rooms boasting charming, original features. The main building was restructured in 1874 and some of pour rooms offer truly impressive views over Coquetdale and Simonside. Our rates are based on B&B. We have a huge garden and patio area with enclosed play area. We also serve fresh local homemade food 7 days a week, meal times can vary depending on day and season, please call us or check our facebook page, generally 12:00. We offer free WiFi access to our customers.
Thanks for the great welcome and help with bikes and water bottles. Fantastic welcome for the 7 of us - with help with bikes water bottles etc. Service and the food were great which was also great value Certainly we will return if and when our cycling group of mates are back in the area

This nineteenth century country town hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the Northumberland National Park in the scenic and tranquil village of Rothbury. The Coquetvale Hotel is perfect for a relaxing break in the beautiful countryside or an ideal base for walking, cycling or outdoor pursuits. The stunning Cragside House and grounds are a five minute drive away as are the breathtaking Simonside Hills which are a popular spot for walkers with amazing scenery. Further afield lies the market town of Alnwick, home to the spectacular Alnwick Gardens and Castle, as well as the picturesque Northumberland coastline are a 20 minute drive over the scenic moors that surround Rothbury. The hotel was bought by experienced hoteliers in August 2016 and has since seen immediate investment into public areas and bedrooms.
Stayed here for one night and the service was first class. The hotel was under new management and the manager was pretty much doing g everything himself due to being unable to get reliable stafff. DO NOT LET THAT PUT YOU OFF BOOKING - he was amazing. - friendly, well organised, incredible helpful and always cheerful. We stayed as part of a 4 day cycling holiday and were even provided with a separate room in the hotel to secure the bikes. The evening meals were also really good - plenty of options (wirh a good choice of vegetarian options). Our room even has a hot tub! Highly recommend

Luxury accommodation in a fabulous unspoilt area of northumberland Set in beautifull countryside with the most stunning views over the Coquet Valley and Cheviot Hills in the heart of Northumberland. En-suite rooms with king-size beds, goose down duvets and plump pillows for a restful nights sleep. FREE breakfasts included in price of room - breakfast is a lavish affair with an emphasis on fresh local produce including farm eggs and Craster Kippers. Try our new Millrace accommodation with "sleigh beds," comfortable large guests lounge and a courtyard garden with fish pond and fountain to sit by. Near to N.T. Cragside, Wallington Hall and Alnwick Castle and Gardens. Holy Island 1 hours drive away through picturesque scenery FREE FISHING on River Coquet - salmon and trout - Caistron Fishery 1 mile away. Excellent area for walking with lots of walks straight from the farm house. Lovey pubs and restaurants for lunch or dinner close by.
Unfortunately, we could only stay for two nights, but that was long enough to realise that there can’t be many (if any) better B&Bs around here. All furnishings, soaps, lotions, etc are top quality and Ann’s breakfasts – plus cakes - will live long in our memory. The only problem was deciding what to eat. Walks in and around the local area offer hours of relaxation with much more being available if you’re willing to drive a short distance, including The Three Wheat Heads pub and La Mensa restaurant – both offering excellent food. Looking forward to a future visit.

Nestling in its own grounds on the hillside, looking south over the town, the Coquet Valley and Simonside Hills, The Haven is a splendid Edwardian detached stone-built house, approximately two minutes walk from the centre of Rothbury. Our family-run guesthouse offers very comfortable accommodation, fresh home cooked local produce and a friendly tranquil setting for business and pleasure. All rooms are generously sized and fitted to a high standard. Each room has en-suite bathroom, color TV, hair dryer, clock radio and amazing hospitality tray, and you may even get a taste of our special homemade chocolates. A comfortable lounge is available to guests at all times; guests are free to enjoy the terraced gardens overlooking the village. Wifi is available throughout the house. Private car parking is available for up to 16 cars in front of the house. A selection of local beers, wines and spirits are available to residential guests and their visitors.
Recently stayed here for 3 nights and what a delight. On arrival greeted with Coffee and cake. Shown to room, which was the Scots Pine room. Very clean and tidy, very spacious with lovely period settee in corner of the room. Lovely views over the village to the far hills. Bed very comfortable and large. Shower spotless and worked well, All extras catered for, plenty of space for clothes, plenty of plug sockets, tea/coffee facilities, shower and hand gels/soap. Breakfast choice was excellent and food was very good quality. Full English was cooked fresh and to perfection every time. Dining room was spotless as was rest of house. Only issues that easily resolved. Toilet noisy when flushed and floorboard in dining room in window table loose. Apart from that worth top reviews

Called in for tea and sandwich one lunchtime. This is a smart and friendly spot with lovely staff in attendance. Good Covid precautions taken by staff and offered to customers. Tea (in proper cups) served with enthusiasm together with nicely presented sandwiches. Very smart WC. Staff talked us into the lemon meringue...(in the nicest possible way). The cost was a little more than we had expected but, hey.... you should see the freshly produced sandwiches........ I'm not sure this cafe still offers accommodation; it seems there has been a change of ownership / management since some of the earlier (poor) reviews were made so my review ignores the accommodation related questions and Tripadvisor may like to update the format for this entry.

Springfield Guest House is a three story Victorian townhouse. We have six large en suite rooms. Bed and breakfast starts at a very reasonable price. We have double, twin and family rooms which can sleep up to five persons. We are located right in the centre of beautiful Rothbury, an ideal base to visit the whole of Northumberland. We have off street parking and cycle storage.
We stayed 1 night. The owner welcomed us warmly, you have to ring the bell at the door. We were given room 1. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean although the room needed some love and care shown it....light bulbs not working, ceiling damaged and not properly repaired, we had no towels on arrival and no toilet roll, but we were provided with these within the hour of arrival. Good wifi. Now the bathroom....I have never ever experienced anything like it. Toilet moves. The cold tap was not fixed properly. The shower worked lovely but the shower door did not close properly. Holes in the floor which made going in there quite dangerous for anybody with unsure footing...also no room at all....I would not rate this property a 4star property and I would not stay again as the bathroom was shocking. I was very disappointed. Even more shocking was the lack of Covid 19 preparations. No sanitiser anywhere. No soap in the bathroom. It was a place to rest our head. We had a meal at the Turks head in the evening and the food was lovely and staff very friendly. I hate leaving negative reviews and wish I had checked out the reviews before my stay.
