The home to Yale University since 1701, the city of New Haven is packed with an unrivaled collection of arts and antiquities, with collections ranging from natural history specimens to antique musical instruments. The towering translucent marble cube of the Beinecke Library contains 600,000 rare volumes, including one of the only surviving Gutenberg Bibles. The Yale University Art Gallery is as famous for its collection as it is for its building, a Modernist masterpiece designed by Louis Kahn.

I stayed in New Haven for a recent reunion and am so glad that I chose the Blake. I absolutely loved my hotel room due to the presence of a comfy couch and the kitchenette. The bathroom was beautiful. The rooms have a clean, unadorned and modern perhaps Scandinavian aesthetic. I truly enjoy spending time in my room between events. The location is great: between Yale College and the medical school. There was a reunion event at the rooftop bar of the hotel that was very fun. The bartenders were top notch and provided great service. Definitely would return.

I was at the hotel for a combination of business and leisure and needed a quiet place after check out time to do a video call. The hotel went out of their way to make a conference room available to me. The room was spacious, incredibly clean and nicely furnished - updated. Staff overall were super nice and helpful. The lobby is real nice and their snack bar is great with a 24/7 fresh ground coffee dispenser, craft beer and wine. Stayed there before and will stay again!

A great little hotel in the heart of New Haven. Definitely upscale, designed as if you were staying overnight in the art museum next door. Staff were extremely helpful in every way, from a schedule change to providing a minor toiletry item to holding my bags. Loved the huge desk and leather chair in my room! The ground floor lobby and the streets outside were bustling during early May, lots of intense young people - the vibe was lively. Heirloom restaurant in the hotel was busy, too. The view from the street side rooms was lovely, but on a party Saturday in spring, there was some street noise - not the hotel's fault. Still, if quiet is important, you'll want to book on the campus view side.

Beautiful old hotel with a modern refurb! Great rooms and lots of lobby open spaces. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a great location. Parking was easy and the hotel staff was helpful and friendly.

The rooms are clean and pleasant but lack warmth. The bed was comfortable. I booked on the day of the Yale Reunion and had to pay probably twice as much. Be careful what events are happening in town that could cause a higher rate, there are very few places to stay in downtown New Haven. There isn't a complimentary breakfast.

My room had an amazing view of the city. Room was huge! Comes with a Nespresso machine. Staff were very friendly. Convenient location near Yale University. There is a rooftop which is supposed to be very nice, but I never accessed it. Lots of good eating options within walking distance.

Dank. Dirty. Disgusting. The best 3 words to explain the experience. Hair all over the bathroom. No tissues. Used sheets. Holes in walls. No outlet for coffee maker. Rugs torn up. Management indicated I was lying when I told him about the conditions of the room. Told me we could check out. Told my 74 yr old disabled friend she could move rooms at 10pm if she wasn't satisfied. Gave a 20% refund for one night for our upset. Room was over $180 a night. Weekly residents run the halls with dogs and trash bags and bikes. Indescribable. Really, beyond belief. NEVER EVER STAY HERE NO MATTER WHAT!

We stopped by New Haven to get a relaxing break between New York and Boston and this hotel was the perfect place to slow down and take a breather. It opened two weeks ago, so everything was new and clean. The room was comfortable and beautiful, we managed to get two good nights of sleep. We went to the restaurant to for breakfast and it was fine. We went for a stroll on the Long Wharf Park and it was nice. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit far from downtown. The 20 minutes walk isn't a pleasant one, so it's better to have car if you go there.

This hotel is garbage. The room smelled terrible. The bathroom was dirty and so was the tub. We asked for 2 extra pillows and they said they would drop them off so we left for our evening activity and when we returned NO EXTRA pillows. I would have called the desk but the phone didnt work. Breakfast the next morning consisted of granola bars, GMO yogurt and cereal with sugar. This hotel should be rated 0

As previous reviews stated, the house is old and very lived in. It is just like a visit to your grandparents house. It needs a little attention. Nick is a very gracious host and made us feel at home. If you decide to stay here, please bring your own bottled water. There is a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker for convenience.
