This was our second time here. We came 2 years ago and were happy to return for a one-nighter in Nasu. We stayed in the Main tower. The room felt new. Big, comfortable and clean with a beautiful view on the forest and mountain. Nice big balcony. The dinner and breakfast buffets are really great. Very enjoyable and well organized. The swimming pool was fun. The public bath is spacious and very relaxing. Even if it is busy you can enjoy. Wonderful. The hotel is spacious. The grounds are beautiful. This is a family oriented hotel, so many kids. Lots of fun for them. Staff are wonderful. Great service. Love it. If you come to Nasu, Epinard is a solid choice.

We stayed in the forest villa building of the hotel. Many buildings for this hotel. Oriental Garden seems to be the nicest. Forest Villa was pretty good. Room view was forest, and we were right down the hall from the onsen. There are 3 onsens you can visit; Main building is the biggest unfortunately many of their saunas were closed, Forest Villa was small however very nice and Oriental Garden's onsen was the most relaxing. Try all three! The pool was closed when we went. Room was clean. Hotel is clean. We ate the buffet at Forest Villa for dinner and breakfast. It was good. Service in this hotel is great. Very friendly. Good place for families to stay. Beautiful place to stay if you are in Nasu.

Enjoyed staying at this hotel for 2 nights. The room was large enough for 2 people. The hotel staffs were nice, willing to help us enjoy staying. Because of the busy season, only the buffet style meals were available when I booked the hotel. The quality of the food was very good, but I wish I could choose different kind of food on the second day. The key of the room was not a card key and the hotel gave me only one key. It would be more convenient if the key was a card key and gave us 2 keys. The view outside of the room window was excellent filled by large forest and Nasu mountains. Although there are several things to improve, the hotel was good overall.

The good 1 - Just next to a farm and you can visit it too 2 - Very peaceful location 3 - Rooms are large, clean and decent 4 - Great onsen (public bath) The bad 1- Location is atrocious. Dont even book this place if you dont have a car equipped with a GPS. It's way out of the way. 2 - Creepy. Hotel is practically deserted. I only saw one employee throughout entire stay - the guy at the front desk. They didnt even have a bellhop to help with the bags. We would stay at another place next time.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by great view. Very nice restaurant and onsen. Would have giver a perfect feedback, if not for the fact that there is no cafeteria that you can sit and have a drink or / and food with friends... Nice French food at the restaurant, unfortunately, you must order it one day in advance...

We booked an entire house using Towa Pure Cottages. They offer a wide variety of accomodations from hotels, cottages, glamping, resort cabin/log houses, and designer houses around Nasu. Guest benefits includes free admission tickets to the nearby parks like Nasu Highland Park (rides for a fee), and Rindoko Lake Ranch. The house that we booked is called Momijigaoka #46. It has a warm feeling with a knotty-pine interior furnished country cabin style! Windows and high ceilings bring the outdoors inside while you relax in a comfortable couch. The front deck is perfect for evening barbeques while gazing out at the beautiful nature of Nasu. Our friends grew up in Sagada, eventually worked in Baguio City -the summer capital of the Philippines- and they give this place a thumbs up. ?? The nature, the trails, the fog ? totally brings back the memories of their hometown! ? The house has both japanese tatami and western style rooms. It also has an open-air bath we all love! I usually bring my own cleaning supplies, but didn’t use any because the house was spotless. Needs a kitchen mat, dish cloth, and a hand soap tho. ? The only down side is there are no fans and ac’s in the rooms! We could open the windows but it wasn’t enough at least for us. ? Glad our friend brought 2 fans so we were able to sleep comfortably. ? Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Very relaxing away from hustle and bustle of the city. We had a great time with our friends and we will surely come back and stay longer this time! ?

We arrived at the View Palace Hotel during a pouring rain early in the evening. First impressions were of an average Japanese hotel with an efficient and quiet staff helping guests into an average hotel room. Dinner at the hotel restaurant features French themed fare. Pleasant for a single night but it would be overly repetitive if staying several days in a row. The onsen was very good. Small but clean and open to the, unfortunately rainy ni ght. The next morning dawned brilliant and sunny. An amazing view from our hotel room balcony of the plains below. A walk around the grounds of the hotel revealed an equally beautiful view. The location and scenery is what lifts the View Palace Hotel above average.

We chose to stay in Nasu Onsen 那須温泉, a spread out hotspring on the slope of Mt. Nasu. Yumoto 湯本 is the centre of the area, with many ryokans located, including the one we booked for the evening: Sanraku 那須温泉 山楽. This ryokan was started in 1923, visited by Emperor Showa 天皇昭和 before he decided to build his own imperial villa in Nasu, so there is a saying that his villa was inspired by the ryokan. It has a really beautiful backdrop of Nasu’s main peak: Chausudake 茶臼岳. The ryokan has prided itself with its hotspring, directly fed from the source 5.4 km away, with an abundance flow of 800 litres per minute. The ryokan made use of the gradual drop of temperature over distance to cool down the water and this hotspring is the same feeding the royal villa. We have booked the Modern Japanese Room with Garden Open-Air Bath. The bedroom is spacious (10 mats), with the veranda looking out at the garden, where there is a footbath along with the nice open-air bath with flowing hotspring, direct from source without heating or filtration. There are also two open and two indoor public baths, separately for male and female guests. The ryokan was not busy and so I had the whole bath for myself. I am particularly impressed by the open bath, created as a pool surrounded by the forest offering calm and tranquility. The other great feature was certainly the quality of the hotspring. Simple Onsen 単純温泉 in style, the semi-clear water has no smell, slightly alkaline and giving a nice smoothing experience. I felt all my neck pain gone after the soak and no wonder it was famous for healing properties. The ryokan also had a nice lobby with plenty of comfortable sofas looking at the window to the beautifully trimmed garden. Offering tea, coffee as well as wine and sake free for guests, we had a relaxing moment before returning to the room and got ready for dinner. Dinner is served at the private dining room Yumatsuki. We chose not to dine in room to avoid the smell of the food. All the dishes were fantastic in taste and plating, a true feast of flavors, texture and enjoyment. I also had the local sake Tentaka 天鷹, one of the most popular in Tochigi.

At the very end of the mountain side. It is very private and exclusive. They have male only, female only and mixed bath. The baths in open areas are blended Into the nature. As it is in the highland, the temperature is about 5 degrees lower which is nice for onsen. The traditional Onsen dinner is very nice and worth the value.
