The hotel needs some serious maintenance check. I arrived with my colleagues. One room had so much cigarette smell coming from the AC. the second room hadn't had hot water.. we were then moved to another floor were the electricity kept going off and they claimed their was a problem with one of the electricity ports. we later learnt that the hotel didn't have a manage and the young lady Lina, did try her best to move us into a working room. In the morning the mosque was a bit too loud, as it felt like they were right outside my window, and the neighbors were playing loud music at 6am. We conveyed the information to Lina before we moved locations the next day. She has high potential of making the hotel work and up to standard if given the correct team.

We stayed for 5 days with a group of 38 during our 3 week trip of Africa. Darmish, the hotel manager made sure personally that everything was perfect- from the food and rooms down to which drinks we would want. He liased with the locals to make sure everything was just right. The rooms are large with comfy beds, big windows with sliding mosquito net frames and many have views over Lake Victoria and the mountains. I even had two kites nesting in the top of a tree outside my room and could take a lot of pictures! TV and Wi-fi which works fine and there’s ok reception everywhere in the hotel. The food was excellent- big hearty full English breakfasts with strong coffee as well as tea, toast and fruit available. The dinners were curries which are as good as I’ve ever tasted, always fresh. Salads and fruit were washed in Milton to make sure they were ok to eat and all the ice is double filtered. With 38 of us no one had upset stomachs which is impressive. Large pool with sun loungers, umbrellas and a bar with birds of prey in the trees nearby- if you like taking photos you’ll find it hard to put your camera away! The entire hotel is spotless and very clean, rooms are cleaned every day. I think you’d be hard pushed to find a better hotel anywhere close and if we ever return to he area we’ll stay again.

NEW MWANZA HOTEL is in the heart of Mwanza city, 7 KM from the city’s airport and only 1 ½ km walk to the shores of Lake Victoria the biggest lake in Africa. It is the perfect base from which to discover some of the most impressive natural scenery and wildlife.
We spent one night in New Mwanza Hotel in January 2018. The location of the hotel is good in a busy area of Mwanza, with many shops; it is not far from to Victoria Lake. The room are well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The food is good. The staff is professional. For people who want to relax, there's a swimmining pool.
