Sprawling tea plantations surround the serene hills of Munnar, which attract adventure travelers hungry for paragliding, treks to Anaimudi (South India's highest peak) and hikes originating at the confluence of three mountain streams. The stone Christ Church, built by the British in 1910, is adorned with renowned works of stained glass, and Eravikulam National Park, about 10 miles away, is home to equally colorful wildlife, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr (ibex), ruddy mongoose and 120 bird species.

Chandys Windy Woods is a classified hotel located at the Munnar. Set along a hill slope, a short distance from plantation town Munnar, Windy Woods comprises of a series rectangular blocks with white walls and facades of grey stone set along the slope of a hill. Inside, the ambience is one of muted, chic elegance - the lobby, bathed in soft lighting from recesses overhead, wood veneer cloaking the panels on the walls and floor, graphic motifs inspired by the surrounding nature, and chrome and glass fittings that add a touch of the contemporariness. A small flight of steps leads from the lobby to a multi cuisine restaurant and banqueting area. Glass walled elevators with spectacular views of the mountainous landscape transport guests along the gradient of the hill to different parts of the hotel. A remarkable feature of the decor is an enormous faux tree that forms the essence around which the ambient experience of the hotel is woven. Towering over a rocky slope hewn from concrete, gnarled roots extend out and downwards out of an enormous trunk that pushes right through the middle of the structure around which the common areas are designed. An artificial miniature waterfall flows through the roots and over the rocks. The spectacle begins at the top of the slope, extending down to the bottom in a pool formed by the waterfall. Bodhi Tree, Deep Forest, Traditional Village- each of the blocks has been named after an element of nature. The rooms and suites are arrayed beside open corridors. In a niche cut into a rock an ethnic themed coffee shop is situated designed like the rustic tea shops found in most parts of Kerala. Early in the morning and late in the evening the hiss of the waterfall accompanies the primal sounds of jungle cats, bird calls and insects. Outside, balconies in every room and spacious terraces on every floor look out at the forested and tea clad mountain slopes undulating into the haze on the horizon, a vista accompanied by a persistent wind that blows throughout the day. At dawn and often at different times during the course of a day, clouds waft by and trails of mist snake into the valley immediately below. Nestled in a serene grove of silver oak trees amidst stunningly beautiful surroundings and gracious service Windy Woods is quiet simply the epitome of luxury and fine living.
It was wonderful experience in spending time in windy chandy woods. Well Treated and arranged everything on time. Especially balcony view made our day more special. If you want stay with your loved one definitely we can prefer this hotel.

We stayed at Golden Leaf Room No 319 from 29th May to 01st Jun 22. Booked the rooms through Modern World Travel, Varanasi. An 'avant garde' experience right from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. The host and hostesses at reception, restaurants and housekeeping were warm, welcoming and gracious. Food was great in their restaurant. The view of mountains from my room was amazing. I could stay in that room days on. A special shout out to Saranya, our hostess in the Leaf restaurant, who was ever smiling and fetched us our buffet choices on the table. Way to go "The Leaf"

I live in US and travelled to Munnar for a family vacation. After through search and several suggestions from my friends, though I was not sure about the quality and service provide, I booked at Parakkat Nature Hotels & Resorts. A warm welcome by staffs with garlands. Oh..Man..! you won’t believe the quality, cleanliness and service provided by staff members. Rooms are crystal clear, floors and bathrooms are shining with golden and platinum decorative tiles, filled with lot of furniture and other essential items. Food is top notch with 100s of items for breakfast alone. Be ready to dress well to take portrait and scenic photos, everywhere adorable decorations, artworks and sceneries. Don’t miss out cave house, kids park, camp fire, rope car, trekking, pool, music, riding on horse and much more. Not to forget there is a jewelry shop to buy 1 gram gold jewels as well. Anyone come to Munnar to enjoy, I would recommend this hotel and resorts. My rating is 5 star.

Quaint cottages, fragrant tea gardens and mist-draped mornings are hallmarks of Munnar. For years the cool and picturesque town of Munnar was the summer retreat of the British and it still retains the charm of a colonial past. The destination is home to the only sandalwood forest in Kerala and is also famous for its exotic flora and fauna.
Our 3 days stay at Tea County resort was a wonderful experience. Spread over 8 acres with cottages set amidst tall trees, it is located just 1 km from the centre of Munnar town. We had booked the Premium room which was spacious enough for three - myself, wife and 10 year old kid. The bathroom was clean with sufficient toiletries and hot water available throughout. King sized bed was quite comfortable, maybe little too soft. I loved the balcony overlooking the hills, it was a good place to relax and unwind with a sip of tea. They have only a few options for recreation - carroms, table tennis and billiards table. A badminton court would be a nice-to-have. The reception and security staff are very courteous and helpful. Room cleaning was immaculate. Breakfast buffet (free with the booking) was well stocked with variety of food, including Kerala traditional cuisine idiyappam/egg roast and puttu/kadala curry (on different days). Dinner buffet menu was disappointing for ₹500 plus taxes, it is predominantly vegetarian menu plus one chicken curry and chicken salad. The car parking is at an open ground adjacent to the property, gets muddy if it rains. It would be great if resort management consider paving tiles or concreting the parking area. During the rains, be sure to carry an umbrella so that you don't get drenched walking (2-3 minute steep climb) from parking lot to the resort entrance. Overall it was a good experience staying at Tea County. Will definitely recommend this place.

Given the close proximity to Kerala Farm (3.0 mi), guests of Elixir Hills can easily experience one of Munnar's most popular landmarks. Free wifi is offered to guests, and rooms at Elixir Hills offer a flat screen TV, a minibar, and a kitchenette. During your stay, take advantage of some of the amenities offered, including a 24 hour front desk, room service, and a concierge. There is no shortage of things to do in the area: explore popular waterfalls such as Attukal Waterfalls, Thoovanam Falls, and Pallivasal Falls. Enjoy your stay in Munnar!
The Hotel service is not up to the expectation level. We have to ask for the room basic needs (towel, toiletries, etc) which must have placed before check-in. Apart from that, swimming, spa and breakfast are all better than expected. Room service has to be improved is the only major concern for this hotel. Overall, you can expect good service.

You can book this place for the LOCATION and Service. Nothing else is outstanding about the place. If you are traveling as a group, this place can turn out to be fun, but for individual families, many things can be a turn off. For eg, instead of having larger bedrooms, they have huge lobby, kitchen, common wash rooms, yoga rooms etc for group travelers. And also no TV on individual rooms, but at a common room. While we were there, climate was pleasant as in not too cold for a jacket to be worn, and not foggy at all. Hotel grounds are under utilized. No outdoor play facilities for kids. Indoor playing facility too is limited. Food quality is average or rather below average for the price they charge. Buffet is mostly south Indian dishes only. Whats below is not something directly related to the resort, and they have limited or nil responsibility on the road conditions leading to their property. Access to the place is very pathetic. Never ever follow google maps direction, if you are traveling via adimali. It will take you places, where roads were just memories , even for the previous generation. We managed to reach the place in one piece only by mere luck and some driving skills. I damaged my cars (midsize hatchback) under body, and as an icing on the top, our car body got damaged by a log which fell from another vehicle while giving side to pass by. This happened inside the resort premises, as they have really narrow roads which is meant for hardly a car.
