We are checking out today and this hotel has been a real treat. Staff is very friendly and helpful, facilities and rooms were spotless. Valet helpful with luggage, delivering Ice and anything requested. Breakfast is what it is and normal for a free breakfast in Mexico or the U.S. It was refreshing to have fast and good hot water, large bath towels and plenty of them. Would certainly stay here again and again.

NaNa Vida Morelia is a space where culture, art and artisanal hospitality blends to offer a memorable experience for our guests. It is located in a privileged location in the historic center of Morelia City, only steps away the famous Cathedral and the Plaza de Armas. All our exclusive rooms have a patio view, wonderfully dressed by the historic architecture of the restored house we call home.
The location, building, facilities, security and service was excellent. The ladies we interacted with on the front desk (Luz, Viri, Lupita) we’re super polite, effective and friendly. The extra details like gifting us artisanal agave soap, and a traditional blouse and coffee as gifts were just the cherry on top. This will be my go to place in Morelia.

The place is really nice, considering the restaurant is part of a Boutique Hotel in a Hacienda style house. Food I will say is a bit overprice , taste is average but high end presentation . Drinks are ok.Ambience is perfect no matter what the occasion is( I invite my sister and two adult nieces). Service is perform by young guys that I think were having a miscommunication issues, and the reason I mentioned it is because it happens like 3 times that one server took an order and a few minutes later another guy came to do the same thing and it took sometime between orders to get our order, don’t get me wrong, Isaac our server was really knowledgeable and very kind, he even gave us a small tour thru the hotel, ??. Last but not least the place has a great view of the city. ??? and Yes, I will come back!!

I do not understand how holiday you can keep their main on top of this property which is absolutely trash, the crazy pretty it is incredibly old the carpets are 20 years old dangerously dirty, they give you a room with vomit from the prior day, for your personal health and safety stay away from this incredibly disgusting place, it seems a nuclear bomb hitted by and they are working on what stands left. The fecal smell of drainage surrounds the rooms and of course the toilet and the showers, oh the showers get flooded within 4 min. After you open it.

We always go back to this hotel mainly because of the amazing views of the city, the beautiful grounds and the restaurant. The food is one of the best in Morelia at affordable prices and the waiters are always welcoming and friendly. They always make us feel like home. The rooms are rustic and nice, nothing fancy but we like the style. We just wish they'd let us use the fireplace during winter. Can't wait to be back!

Originally a 17th-century noble palace, Los Juaninos was converted into a superb 30-room hotel in 1998 when it was renovated with all modern facilities and comforts. Yet this landmark building faithfully retains its architectural grandeur, harmonizing with surrounding Spanish colonial buildings of Morelia's Historic Center which, in its entirety, is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to UNESCO, these aristocratic buildings "reflect the town's architectural history, revealing a masterly and eclectic blend of the medieval spirit with Renaissance, Baroque and neoclassical elements." The hotel's impressive facade and lobby, thick stone walls, graceful stairways and arched hallways combine with guestrooms and suites, each one distinct, forming an ambience reminiscent of Morelia's glorious past. Balconied windows have breathtaking close-up views of Morelia's cathedral: the varying shades of its pink quarry stone facade by day; glowing magnificently at dusk; and dramatically illuminated at night. The city's tree-lined main square is just across the street, a vibrant setting in the heart of Morelia, capital of the State of Michoacan. History At the end of the seventeenth century, the Captain General of New Spain and Bishop Juan Ortega y Montanez ordered the construction of the opulent Bishop's Palace in this privileged location of Morelia. Then, in 1700, the Bishop granted the building to the religious order of Los Juaninos who converted it into the Royal Hospital of San Juan de Dios which they maintained for over a century. In 1857 the building was sold to private individuals, and in 1886 it was transformed by architect Guillermo Wotton de Corinne, influenced by fashionable romantic architectural style, into the most luxurious hotel of the period, the Hotel Oseguera. It catered to first-class passengers traveling on the new railway from Mexico City to Morelia. Finally, in 1998 the building was restored to its original splendor and reopened as the Hotel Los Juaninos, with its antique French furnishings, rich fabrics, and art-nouveau stained-glass windows, as well as modern facilities including an elevator. Hotel Los Juaninos has continually undergone renovations and enhancements during the past decade. Morelia has played an important role in the history of Mexico. It was the birthplace of several heroes of the Mexican Independence, September 16, 1810, a date that is celebrated spectacularly here.
The good: Beautiful old hotel across the street from cathedral. Breakfast in restaurant (not included in cost of room) was good. Restaurant views were nice. The bad: Bad funky smell coming from bathroom. A bit noisy until late. Room was small. Not worth the price.

Hotel offers a comfortable and practical stay with a convenient location, close to the zoo, the football stadium, the bus station, the Convention Center and the historical downtown.
Even though it was the holiday season, I had to attend to business in Morelia. I chose this hotel due to its location and because, as with other hotels, it advertised free internet. Serious mistake. From my room on the second floor I could connect to the hotel’s modem, but my equipment indicated that the modem did not carry an internet signal. When I called down to the front desk the receptionist assured me that I would have a connection in a few minutes, because they would reset the system. During my entire four day stay I never had an internet connection in the room. I had to go down to the hotel restaurant to find a signal. Even the two computers in the so-called ‘business center’ lacked internet access. However, these problems were not what turned me off to this hotel. Rather, it was the staff attitude. In response to my queries about the internet, they reacted as if either the problem did not exist or if I were the problem. “No internet access? How can that be possible? We have modems on each floor.” They suggested that the problem must be with my cell phone. What they did not know was that I was using two cell phones and two computers. All four of them must have been having a bad day, but...only at their hotel. The next day when I insisted that the problem was not with the client side of the modem, but with the provider side, my hotel respondent replied that no one else was having problems. “Nonetheless,” she continued, “we just reset the system ten minutes ago.” “Did you reset the system ten minutes ago because someone else lacked internet access.” “Yes.” Sometimes this wishful thinking/magic realism attitude in Mexico is amusing. However, when it interferes with work and encroaches on the thin line between innocence and deception, it becomes worrisome. I’ve been living and working in Mexico for more than 40 years. During that time I have observed that the young folk in Mexico in general are better educated and have acquired a more sophisticated appreciation of the world. The staff attitudes and responses to customer queries at the Comfort Inn Morelia are the result of training and instruction. I’d barely give this hotel a three star rating (out of five) because of what the staff has been trained to do. If you are looking a business hotel in Morelia, this is not it.
