The hotel Portal de la Marquesa is located in the historic city center of Mompox and has an authentic colonial style. It offers a swimming pool for all guests in the garden. Additionally, the suite has its own private swimming pool. Providing a tranquil environment, the rooms and suite in Portal de la Marquesa feature private bathrooms with hot water, free wifi, air conditioning, satellite flat TVs and garden or river views. Room service is available and laundry services can be arranged upon request. Portal de la Marquesa is less than 2 km away from San Bernardo Mompox Airport. Public parking is possible at a location nearby. It also offers a free breakfast.
The Hotel has a fantastic location! The old atmosphere of the house is very beautiful. The staff, even being very attentive, lacks the information they provide to guests. I believe there is someone missing to manage and is pending details, for example, we arrived and the room with separate beds was not ready as requested, the hotel was only shown because I requested it, nothing was said about what we could know in Mompox. The hotel would need to provide at least one English-speaking staff member as there are many foreign guests. Something essential and that was not said by the employees: there are guides registered by the city hall who, for a reasonable fee, accompany visitors on an itinerary that allows you to make the most of your time, I think this is essential in the city to really understand the history better of each place, I recommend the one I hired which was fantastic: José telephone: 321 8558121

Bioma amenities include gardens, restaurant, swimming pool, terrace with 360 degree views of the city, jacuzzi and lounge; our full time staff is there to care for our guests ensuring they have an impeccable stay in Mompos.
My daughter & I had a wonderful experience at Bioma Boutique Hotel. We arrived early morning & the lady at the front desk, very nice & friendly, gave us the room the moment we arrived. That was very nice of them. The hotel is beautiful, is an updated old house & they keep it in excellent shape. The decoration is very tasteful. The room is very confortable & modern. All the staff very friendly & ready to answer any question or bring us anything. Breakfast was great, I recommend a typical 'Arepa de huevo", is a fried egg inside a corn tortilla. The hotel has a terrace in the third floor with a jacuzzi which we did enjoy a lot to calm the hot weather of Mompox. Plus from the terrace there is a nice view of the city. We totally recommend this hotel.

The only true guesthouse in a colonial mansion in front of the river for travelers in Mompos. We have comfortable, spacious and clean en suite private rooms as well as more economical "backpacker rooms", a communal kitchen, a sitting room with cable TV and a large colonial main room. The Casa Amarilla is equipped with wifi and hammocks sway between the pillars of the house around the internal garden and those who come for just a day or two often end up spending more time enjoying the roof terrace and company of other like-minded voyagers. Come and enjoy colonial Mompos - the Garciamarquian heartland.
This Hotel has charm, the staff are very nice etc. However for someone like myself who has stayed in many different styles of accommodation throughout the world. Casa Amarrila is definitely overrated. Not worth the 51 $. Like a lot of the over priced rates in Monopox. Internet is very weak, you are obliged to use it outside of your room, sitting close to the office. Water pressure ,poor, so weak in the shower. Breakfast, nothing special, no fresh bread, no jam. Eggs yes, but cold arrepa's, coffee good, but you have to ask for it.Everyday a small bowl of water melon as fruit. Air condition, flooding the floor. Clean rooms, but very dark and unlucky if you get next to the kitchen, or under the stairs. If you were paying Maximum 30$. That might be a fair price for authenticity. A place over rated again . Don't be fooled.

The service was pretty bad. Even though the infrastructure is beautiful, I can't recall another hotel I've stayed with such a lack of professionalism at dealing with clients. For instance, They made us pay extra taxes cause they weren't properly following the procedure for foreigners' tax exception which reveals lack of hotel management training. Also, there is no WiFi in the rooms even though it's one of the most expensive hotels in Mompos. Their argument is because the walls are "thick", they don't seem to be willing to improve the network. Some positive points were the swimming pool, the breakfast and some friendly staff like Belkis. But overall we were disappointed of the service and after staying one night there, we preferred changing to another hotel that was much better and half the price.

Located on the heart of the historic quarters, on the calm part of the boardwalk in one of oldest colonial house, offering newly renovated room, with AC/ private bath. Wifi
We visited the café of this hotel three times during our stay in Mompos. We sat next to the beautiful garden in the interior. The place is very well renovated and decorated. They serve delicious sandwiches, cocktails, juices and coffee. The staff and the owner are very friendly. We definitely recommend this place!

Cynical about magic; but Mompox is not for pedants. And Pueblito Magico is truly charming. Human reality. The bus from Santa Marta dragged on and on as the road got worse and worse. After 10pm when I arrived, expecting to be lying in the open on the banks of the Magdalena, swatting mosquitoes till dawn. What a manner to herald in my birthday. But there was Wilbur El Salvador, with his open sesame, abralapuerta. Checked me in. Dorm to myself, dump the heavy horsepack down, splash in the washroom. Then out along the riverbank under the weeping willows towards the plaza, breathing deeply, nodding and smiling contentedly. Then sitting by the riverwall with a cold Club at a wee bar with cumbia vallenato dancing out. Mompox is demasiado calor during the day they say. Why some folks take the river breeze and are alive at night, all night. Which is how I was. At first light a fisherman took me to the other bank. As morning hits the architecture opposite, what photographic joy. And birding is marvellous. A couple of slow soft padding hours along that riverbank brought more lovely species than I would have dreamt. The rest of the day was in a blissful haze and a Rocking-Chair - of which Mompox is Capital City. Such a cute hostel to siesta in the nook of the wee plaza, play chess with Juliana, only other guest. I had the evening left to enjoy my birthday further. And the hostel dudes gave good info for moving on next day: not easy to get to nor away. But those practicals; this magic.

The San Rafael Hotel is a 17th-century colonial house located on the corner of the Santa Barbara plaza in the historic center of Mompos. After decades of abandon, we have lovingly restored San Rafael after a meticulous intervention project of 5 years. We have preserved the original spaces, renovating them whilst remaining faithful to the colonial authenticity of the building and now offer our guests all the comforts of the 21st century. The location of San Rafael is unbeatable; on the northern corner of the iconic Santa Barbara square along the Albarrada de Mompox (River-side Avenue).Inside you will find two large gardens full of lush tropical plants that refresh the house from the heat of town on the banks of the Magdalena River. Its eight-meter ceilings speak of the splendor of its past and invite visitors to appreciate the beautiful colonial architecture. We are part of the Casa Amarilla family and we are only 150 meters away from the original Mompos international hotel. For 12 years we have been working to offer our guests the best experience in their visit to Mompos. We are eager to share this jewel of colonial architecture with all our guests.
Awesome hotel in a beautiful colonial house, super friendly staff, great location, gorgeous rooms (super comfy beds), amazing pool, definitely recommended! The breakfast is yummy too, had a fantastic experience and will come back.

Ideal place for those who are looking for an exclusive place, with charm and good atmosphere. Beautiful colonial mansion from the 17th century that still retains the lordship and authenticity of the time in the Historic Center of Mompox on the banks of the Magdalena River. The property has 6 rooms. Large social area, beautiful gardens with a romantic pool built within the walls of a colonial Riat • Six rooms each with a touch and unique decoration. Private bathroom, air conditioning, hot water, fan, T.V. by cable and Netflix. • Amenities: soap, shampoo, conditioner, bathing cap. Hair dryer. • White cotton bedding and towels. • Wi fi in rooms and the entire.Casa Sinning house.
Casa Sinning is a nice antique house but there are other similar hotels for less money! Also, I had a very unpleasant experience when I made the reservation. When I contacted the hotel via whatsapp, Betty the owner replied that she had availability at 240000 COP per night (80 USD). The day I arrived, I checked-in with an employee but then 5 minutes later I saw on booking.com that they were selling rooms at 150000 (50 USD). When I txted Betty about it, she said something unclear about single rooms. As I travel alone, of course I insisted to have the single room rate. Which I got. However, Betty didnt want to give me a discount on the booking.com rate. Knowing the fee is 15% on booking, she could have easily give me a 5% discount as a gesture and still earn well. When I then said that I would then use booking and book the single room online, she paused. Then came back 5’ later and said this would be impossible. Indeed when I tried, the room that 20’ minutes before was available, had been removed. This whole attitude of Betty gave a bad taste, but I stayed because I didnt want to walk through the village to search for something else as it was (and always is) very very hot in Mompox and already getting late. The room I got finally was the same as the one they wanted me to charge 30 usd more initially. So I consider this very dishonest practice from the owner. I therefor dont recommend this place. Even the rate I finally paid (50 usd), is high. Rooms are spacious, but dont have wifi. Breakfast is average. The garden looks nice but twice during the days I was there, workers were doing maintenance and disturbed the peaceful feeling unfortunately....
