With its gridded boulevards and 1960s high-rise buildings, Milton Keynes stands out for its distinctly non-British urban planning. Beyond the concrete sprawl, quirky public artworks and an abundance of museums and cultural venues hint that this is one of the UK’s fastest growing cities.

Stayed here overnight to visit a tourist attraction the following day. When we got to our room the television didn't work so called reception. The guy on reception (Reg?) was very helpful and, when it couldn't be fixed he arranged for us to be moved to a different room. We booked the meal deal and that worked well at the adjoining restaurant.

--THE GOOD-- Breakfast was great. Room cleanliness, facilities and level of comfort perfectly acceptable... --THE BAD AND THE UGLY!-- ...large hole in the wall where it looked as if someone had put the corner of a furniture item / their fist / their foot, was not acceptable! My young daughter asked me why it was there and I had no answer! Check-in system panels at reception seemed to be down, queue was building and staff were running around (leaving reception desk unattended), seemingly talking to each other but not to the guests to give anyone any idea what was going on; no real front of house welcome to speak of. My door key just stopped working half an hour before checkout time the next morning whilst I was loading the car (again, no proper explanation from staff), with half my stuff still locked in our room; fortunately there was a cleaner in the corridor who managed to give me access after several wasted trips back and forth to reception.

The location was ideal, right in the centre, plenty of places to go for drinks and meals, The room was spacious and had all the usual amenaties including Iron and ironing board. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The only complaint was the price of the breakfast for a selfservice buffet breatfast although there was lots of choice - I didnt think it was value for money.

Set in the beautiful grounds of Caldecotte Lake with its historic windmill, Milton Keynes South is just minutes away from the fascinating history of Bletchley Park. We're handy for the MK Dons stadium, Woburn Golf course and Woburn Safari Park too. Drive past the giraffes at the safari park. Or drive down the fairway on the golf course. Watch the terns on the lake, or take your turn cracking the codes at Bletchley. Our hotel puts you just a short journey from all that Milton Keynes has to offer, with comfy beds in every spacious room and an onsite restaurant too.
Would avoid this hotel, dirty rooms, mouldy pillows and bedding, room was filthy. As for the restaurant attached, it's not fit for purpose. Came over from N.Ireland for two nights and my partner ended up with food poisoning from the restaurant. The whole place needs a lot of work doing and definitely a deep deep clean. As stated before definitely AVOID

Great hotel, nice rooms. We went there after being let down by another Holiday Inn Express in Colchester. The room was very nice, clean, comfortable for 1 adult and 2 children. Nice, full of english breakfast and buffeet, nice staff. Reason of 4 stars and not 5, because the TV signal was really bad and we couldn't watch the Queen's Jubilee. I have not complained though, I did not have the energy to move to another room. On Saturday evening it was not possible to have a dinner at the restaurant but cheap pizza was made us very fast and we ate it in our room.
