Clean and comfortable hotel
Reviewed By Nina1340The host was very friendly upon check in. Rooms were clean, comfy bed, soft sheets, good pillows. The hot buffet breakfast was very tasty, and my kids loved the pancake machine! There is major road construction on the road in front of the hotel, so a bit hard to enter. Overall, my family is rested and our bellies are full!

Friendly Staff, Good Experience
Reviewed By ksflanagan94Clean, nicely furnished, but the most memorable part for me was the friendly staff, especially the receptionist. She seems to genuinely enjoy her job and was happy to help. I felt very welcomed and not like a burden, like I do when I visit a lot of motels/hotels. Just seeing a smile on her face lifted my spirits. People/employees like that can be hard to come by (they usually are), so I was so happy she was there, and that this establishment is in my hometown. This is the place I would recommend to anyone staying in McAlester.

Housekeeping TRIED TO ENTER MY ROOM BEFORE 9AM
Reviewed By Danielle KWhen arriving the room I had was supposed to have a sofa bed and it did not. I then had to go down to the front desk and let them know. She was confused as the room is supposed to have one. I asked about roll away beds and she said that they have them but she has to figure out where they are stored. I felt bad and ended up walking with her to check for them. After checking the second floor we finally found them on the 4th. I then took the beds to my room on my own and while she went to try and find bedding. After bringing the beds to my room I met her at the front desk to get the bedding and brought it back to my room and finally was able to get my children's beds made. We then got ready and headed to the pool/hot tub area to finally get to relax and the hot tub and sauna were both out of order. No one had mentioned this at check in and the hot tub was the MAIN reason I had booked this hotel as we had been driving for 7+ hours. Besides those being out of order, the pool area and pool were freezing cold! All that aside we went to back to the room unsatisfied but had another long day of driving ahead of us so we stayed. I was woken up before 9 AM to my daughter saying someone was knocking on the door. Someone was lightly tapping on the door so I jumped up to go see what was going on and before I could make it to the door IT OPENED!! Had I not had the extra lock on they could have walked straight into our room! My daughter is a light sleeper and that's the only reason she even woke up to the tapping it was so quiet. I planned on using Hilton Honors program for the rest of our vacation but after this I will definitely be rethinking what hotels we stay in for the remaining 3+ nights..

Excellent hotel with a terrible bed
Reviewed By 998KenMThe lobby was neat and clean, likewise, the room was nicely decorated with a microwave and mini-fridge. However, the bed had a "gravity well"--the center of the mattress sagged and my wife and I kept rolling into each other all night. An otherwise great experience was ruined by a bad bed. PS this hotel is not visible from the highway--had to use GPS to find.

Staff WAY overworked and property really rough
Reviewed By 552camibPool was green, AC leaked water all over the floor and room smelled of mold unless you kept the AC at 60. We asked for it to be looked at several times and it never was. The room was not very clean - dried mud all over the bathroom floor. I felt really sorry for the staff. The front desk was responsible for removing trash, mopping lobby floors, and keeping the breakfast area cleaned on top of front desk responsibilities.

The entire staff and maintenance are top notch always smiling and friendly. Everyone does their job and they do it extremely well. I will not ever stay at another hotel that's not an extended stay. Extended stay America in McAlester is a top notch , well staffed, and all around wonderful experience The rooms are so clean and all linens are fresh and well supplied . The location is perfect the rooms are spacious and super clean. Cleaning staff are thorough and extremely hard working. Front desk as well as every staff member I've seen repeatedly are first rate friendly and respectable. Highly Recommend. Only PLACE I WILL EVER STAY IN MCALESTER AND ANYWHERE I NEED LODGING MY FIRST AND ONLY CHOICE WILL BE HERE

Bugs all over the place..dirt under and behind night stand, wouldn't give extra blankets. VERYYY RUDE!! My 14 year old son asked for 2 towels, the owner said we had enough. Buyer Beware

When we arrived they asked me for my credit card, I thought they needed it for verification, he processed it and said it was a $55 room deposit. I looked puzzled he stated I would get it back as soon as I checked out. First night refrigerator was not working was hot and smelled horrible, AC wasn’t working and the toilet was filthy, stains on the sheets. I called the front desk they said they were booked but would be able to move us the next day. I inquired about a refund and they said it wasn’t possible. We were on the first floor and the ceiling was paper thin, it sounded like a herd of cattle above us all night, barely got any sleep. Went to the front desk the next morning and the same guy that checked us in seemed unhappy that we wanted to move, and tried to move us to another bottom floor room, I had to be blunt with him and stated we would not be comfortable staying below anyone another night. He finally moved us to an upstairs room and it was more pleasant. When we went to checkout I asked him about the deposit and if he needed the card to reimburse me, he said no as soon as the housekeeping gave him the all clear he would refund the deposit. 48 hours later still no refund and no pending transactions, I was driving back through and decided to stop in. He was very surprised to see me and I inquired once again about my deposit, he punched some buttons on the computer, and said hold on I’ll try and print out a receipt. A few minutes later he showed me a receipt showing I was being reimbursed $50, I responded you withdrew $55 he said we have a $5 pet fee, I stated we didn’t have any pets, he stated well you booked online and there is a $5 online booking fee. I just shook my head and walked out with my receipt, BEWARE Im not sure I would have gotten anything back if I didn’t stop back in.
