This unique property is the former summer residence of the Marquis de Sade and his Family. Mazan is an authentic medieval village situated in the heart of Provence. It’s protected by high ramparts from XIVe century and offers nice paved alleys, fountains, and old charming house. Welcome to Historic Provence! The property, situated in the heart of the Village, has 31 rooms divided in the main building and in an old house (dated back 1695) facing it. Renovated in 2019 / 2020, the decoration has returned at the origins of the Château de Mazan and Louis XV style with a contemporary Provence touch. A special attention have been brought to the garden which has recovered its original setting. Respect of the History, elegance and refinement, Provence spirit are the keys of what the property offers.

Reviewed By Nicola B4* but disappointing. Dinner not available Monday or Tuesday. Nowhere available locally, but excellent receptionist did eventually find us somewhere 20’ away. Pool had very little sun. Deckchairs are not comfortable! More basic than expected.

Reviewed By smdc78684 of us went to the Auberge du Vin for a 1 hour wine tasting run by Linda. She selected a few local wines of Syrah, Grenache and Syrah-Grenache blend. Her style of education makes the wines, their origins, their flavours etc all very understandable and accessible. Super informative, great discussion and completely objective education in that the Auberge du Vin does not sell any of the wines. All extremely reasonably priced. I would HIGHLY recommend this as a starting point to any wine exploration in the area so that you know which vineyards to visit. The Auberge is lovely and very hospitable, although we did not stay there as had a house booked previously, I'd be very happy to on our next trip. Enjoy!

la MaiZon provides five guest rooms and an apartment, in the countryside of the Mont Ventoux and close to stunning Luberon villages. This typically Provence house has been entirely renovated and decorated in a vintage style. Outside, the large mediterranean garden offers many hidden spots to rest, read a book or laze in the sun, close to the pool.

Francois Ben and Paco were truly the best hosts and could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was a chore. We desperately needed some chill time and this was done with the best in service at a beautiful property. We all have been welcomed and looked after with a family who deserve the best reviews. Breakfasts were great and often organised at different times to suit. Will definitely be going back.

One of the best places in the whole of Provence
Reviewed By ike sI've been a lot of times in the Provence, but this is without any doubt the best place I've been. Clean and roomy rooms, authentic surrounding and stylish garden, only starts to describe this place. Agnes is a very warm hostess who makes you feel at home at once. She does everything to make the guests at ease and goes the extra mile. We've eaten every weekday at Les Secrets de Cesanne, and it was very lovely. If you want to encounter French hospitality, this is the place to be. Thank you Agnes for a great stay !

Reviewed By FrankLy4242I just got assaulted by the owner for parking 5 minutes in front of his hotel while picking up my elderly mother from the doctor next door. He came yelling while I was 20 feet away from the car waiting for my mom after her covid vaccination. Even after I told him I will move the car he kept ranting. I don't think hospitality is in his destiny

As soon as you open the door of one of our 5 double rooms with private bathroom and toilet, you enter in a wonderful provençal universe. The tastefull names of our rooms give you a guided tour through the delicious cuisine of this part of France: - la “Tapenade” makes you dream about a sweet cocktaildrink under the olive trees - La “Bouillabaisse” reflects the stunning blue of the Mediterranean Sea. - La “Daube” inspires nothing but warmth thanks to its wine-red color. - La “Banon” makes you melt with its shades of chestnut. - La “Calisson” indulges you with almondsweet dreams Our rooms are spacious enough for up to 4 persons maximum. In order to assure a maximum of quality, the total capacity of our B&B is limited to 15 persons. Our other pluspoints : a big garden, swimming pool, shed store your bicycles, private parking, table d'hotes, centrally located, free wifi!
Lovely setting and excellent hospitality
Reviewed By Jeff AOur family of 4 was in France this summer to watch Women’s World Cup soccer (go USA!) and we visited relatives in Mazan whose friends recently opened the Mas de Canteperdrix. The landscape is beautiful – think blue sky and fields of lavender. The house is lovely and everything has a feeling of newness, many nice small touches. Our room was very comfortable (we asked ahead for one with A/C – not typical but so nice during the heat wave that came with us). The yard is scattered with gathering places and spots to enjoy some solitude – the swimming pool was welcome and there is a small refrigerator with beer and soft drinks “on the honor system” for guests to enjoy while relaxing outside. “Lutie” the golden retriever is a fun playmate too. We enjoyed the Table D’Hotes dinner prepared one evening by Veerle – fresh salmon with a tomato salad and Pavlova for dessert. She and Piet were great hosts – we stayed up chatting long after our kids went to bed until we realized they probably wanted to do the same . . . Nice area to spend a couple of days – bike up the Ventoux mountain or better yet, drive up and wave to the cyclists along the way We enjoyed Mas de Canteperdrix and would stay again or recommend it to anyone we know will be passing through the area.

Reviewed By RakkiTooWe had the largest apartment, with a kitchen and prepared our own breakfasts because we stayed for an idyllic week, enjoying cycling around the countryside. Our accommodation included a deck/pergola with views of the famed Mt Ventoux. We enjoyed breakfasting out here in the mornings and quiet evenings quaffing the wine made on the premises! Plein Pagnier is a working winery with three options for accommodation. The outlook is across vineyards and cherry orchards - DO try the cherry juice and the preserved cherries! Just delicious! Wish we could have brought the preservative-free wine and other Plein Pagnier produce home with us! Our hosts were helpful, friendly and informative. The swimming pool was very welcome during the hot days! A beautiful authentic place to stay!

Rooms are very spatious, clean and renovated by keeping as much materials from the original farm. Breakfast is not luxuous but typical french. They sell their own olive oil which is fabulous
