Great place for lunch in the countryside just outside Milan
Reviewed By FlinnieTWe had a wonderful time at cascina regina yesterday enjoying a delicious lunch in the courtyard and relaxing in the gardens all afternoon. Lunch was a great mixed antipasto followed by risotto and pork fillet, washed down with plenty of wine and water giving the hot hot hot temperatures!! We went with a few other families who all had separate tables to make sure we were staying safe and Dario and Anna couldn’t have been more welcoming. It’s fantastic to be able to start getting out and cascina regina is a perfect place to have a lunch with friends while the kids play in the huge garden with a great lawn for football and tag and anything else they want to get up to. The kids menu was good too, everyone loved it. And everything was super good value, especially considering we practically spent the whole day there, and really convenient as just over half an hour from Milan. This cascina is recommended for small or large groups, a great day out to enjoy food and wine in the countryside ?

Reviewed By traveling6573Oh, where do I begin. I won't rate it based on a few shortcomings. For instance, that it is not well designated from the road. That happens when going to a new place. ****I'm rating this based on how 6/6 of my family members barely managed two hours of sleep from 11pm-9am.**** We went up to the rooms, and they were so warm. She says that this is not the season for AC, so just open the windows. The rooms facing the main road had noise issues the whole night. I faced away from the road, so I only heard the trash compacter and the German shepherd bark all night. But I can sleep through a rock concert, so I wasn't disturbed by the noise. What kept us up all night was how hot it was. We were all drenched in sweat. All night. The windows had to be kept mostly closed because of the mosquitoes. My bathroom was a floor above my room, and I dropped sweat just standing there in the time it took to brush my teeth. As we had booked a second night, we discussed the issue with her. She not only did not want to provide AC for the second night, but had the audacity to get offended that we would even ask. We didn't even do it impolitely. We didn't get upset at her or blame her for the situation. We simply asked if anything could be done about the heat. She said no, that she wouldn't even provide us with fans for the rooms. While we were sitting at breakfast, she made up a bill and basically kicked us out. She locked my bathroom before I could even get my toothbrush. I would have understood MAYBE if a family member had been rude to her. They were not. No one was hostile. In fact, they offered to buy fans for her to use on the second night. She said she would buy two fans for just a couple of nights. Now, that doesn't even make good business sense. Again, won't rate based on the fact that she got upset at my cousin for requesting access to the safe that was provided for us. I won't rate it based on the fact that she realized that while we were from the USA now, She realized that we were ethnically from a third world country and said that in our motherland, there was no AC. That was said in a fairly racially insensitive manner, but I'm not one to get upset by racial slurs. She is absolutely not a hospitable woman. She has poor business skills. If her guests aren't 100% satisfied, She says that she feels unappreciated. I do not intend to be rude to her here. I haven't even listed all of the other faults with the place or the way she has set up things. I am not writing this simply to complain. I just don't want someone to go through what we did, and I wanted to provide enough detail that it would deter someone from having a bad experience in Italy. I have been to Italy so many times, all over this country, for many years now. I have lots of family here. One bad experience shouldn't ruin this wonderfully fun country for someone else.

Comfy and quiet
Reviewed By Michael MThis B&B has opened last Summer, everything is brand new. It's just outside the city center but if you need to be picked up by the host just tell him. Both him and his daughter gave me a very warm welcome. If you are lucky and are the only guest (there are only 3 rooms) you have the apartment for yourself, including the kitchen - living room. Excellent price performance ratio.
